Power Strengths:  Wielding runic artifacts passed down through the Garai noble family, Wil'theras boasts enhanced physical and martial prowess, with magically honed weapons and armor also capable of projecting elemental force.  Also, is a werewolf.
Power Weaknesses:  Powers solely augment his weaponry -- no teleportation, fireballs, paralyzing spells, other conventional feats of wizardry.  Also, silver, because werewolf.

Backstory:  Wil'theras was born to one of the Vale's noble families -- the house Garai.  With such an upbringing, he was quickly exposed to life at court, as part of the upper class; largely sheltered but also well-educated and well-trained.  He could be the head of the house someday, people said, especially as his parents had no more children.  As such, a great deal of pressure was placed on Wil from a young age.  He never took much of a liking to politics, despite having somewhat of a talent for it, and instead turned his attention to the queen's guard.  After all, they seemed so... *cool*, plus it was a way to earn glory for himself.  And finally, his family possessed some powerful artifacts that could be put to good use on the battlefield.

Joining up as a teenager, Wil quickly demonstrated talent with a weapon -- but it was hard to say if it was actually talent, or just that he'd had the privilege of expensive tutors.  Either way, he'd proved himself in training and began to climb the ranks.  Along the way he became wounded during an incident in an outlying village, but covered it up -- he didn't want to show weakness in front of his men.  He would later find out that this wound was from a lycanthrope, and he had become infected...

Trying to keep his condition a secret, he continued about his duties.  He just didn't want to besmirch his name or image if at all possible, and he was a bit embarrassed about it as well.  Although there were a number of close calls, he's done pretty well so far at keeping things secret; avoiding night shifts (or making sure to leave the area) and confining himself to his quarters.

Now, Wil'theras carries on his duties as an officer in the queen's guard, trying to keep climbing the ladder, and also trying to better his reputation in general.  And it is here that he enters our story...
