Background: Taeshi was born in Frankfurt, Germany as a daughter of two hard-working parents. After her birth her parents decided to stay in Germany so Taeshi wouldn't be confused by all the different cultures. But just her mother stayed with her - at first. When Desi turned 6 and started school her mother started working abroad again, so Taeshi was left with a Nanny. She thought it couldn't get worse, growing up with her parents just showing up occasionally. After a time she wasn't even happy anymore when her parents took 1-2 weeks off from work to stay at home. At first she'd always be overly hyped for it, but it always resulted in her parents going again and she hated it; knowing her parents were coming back just to go away again.
After a few years, she was around 13, her parents decided it would be better for Taeshi to live in South Korea. Simply because the education chances were way better there; Germany was already good, but they wanted their daughter to get more than good. Besides, universities in Germany were realy expensive for nothing.
It was hard for Taeshi. Her parents were never with her so she never could learn Korean (or Chinese) from them. The few Korean words she learned from her mother when she was younger weren't enough for her to live in Korea. But she was a fast learner. Due to her ability to imitate pronunciations she learned to speak without accent and her vocabulary grew through TV and her new Korean Nanny. After 2 years she was completely fluent. Until then she had home lessons but then decided to go to an actual school, she wanted to socialize and go under people. Her parents refused to let her go to an actual school, they thought it would just be distracting. They made a deal, if she finds a proper school and keeps her grades high she could stay, if not she and a private tutor will be traveling with her parents. Reason enough for her to choose the first-best school just based on parent reviews on the homepage - so she basically didn't read the rules.
Her parents thought a school with such rules would be perfect and not distracting at all, so they accepted.
