Замок Эшфорд – одна из красивейших исторических достопримечательностей западной части Ирландии. Он стоит в месте впадения реки Конг в озеро Лох-Корриб, прямо на границе двух графств Мейо и Голуэя. Замок Эшфорд начали возводить в 1228 году для представителей аристократического семейства норманнов де Бург, позже вариант написания их фамилии сменился на «Бурк».Сейчас Чтобы постояльцы замка Эшфорд не заскучали им предлагают обучение в местной Школе соколиной охоты, располагающейся на его территории, точнее рядом с озером Лох-Корриб.

Замок Мандерли
Замок окружили великолепные сады, занявшие четырнадцать тысяч квадратных метров, а из стрельчатых окон замка можно было видеть ирландское побережье, вплоть до земель Уэльса.

Замок Бунратти (Bunratty Castle)
Массивный и грозный средневековый замок Бунратти расположен в графстве Клэр в одноименной деревеньке Бунратти под городом Шэннон.

Островной замок МакДермотт (McDermott’s Castle)
Очень красивый и невероятно романтичный замок МакДермотт, расположился в пределах миниатюрного зеленого островка Касл, выросшего посреди живописного озера Лох Ки, что в ирландском графстве Роскоммон, недалеко от городка Бойл. Круглое озеро протянулось на десять километров, а по всей его поверхности раскиданы тридцать небольших островков. Кстати, о появлении этого водоема есть интересная местная легенда.
