As the screen jumped to static, the All-Stars stood there, half in shock, half kind of knowing that Calypso would try something like this.
But still, while Calypso’s motivations remained a mystery, they didn’t matter as much as the other question on their minds.
“Who’s the lady?” Snake asked. “Believe me, I’ve never seen her before I watched the video.” Aiden walked up to him, pressing a gun against his head. “If you’re lying to us-“ “I don’t exactly have much to hide, Aiden!” Damien cut him off. “I’ve never seen her before. Had nothing on her. I even took all the files I had on you guys, and my old team.” He tried to reason, gesturing to a large hard drive on the desk nearby. “Absolutely nothing.”
Raiden stepped forward. “Maybe we can make him talk.” He suggested. Damien shook his head. “Not likely. Before you guys showed up, I got word of our final plan. The guys are waiting you out. As I explained, Polygon Man had a double agent or something here, who he planned on using to completely drain your supply, and kill you off under his heel.”
“Well then, what now?” Radec questioned. “As I said to Aiden,” He looked over at his old protégé, who glared in response, “I can program any old teleporter to take you across dimensions. Like, for instance, Calypso’s.”
“We already have that painting though. Why do we need you?” Isaac asked.
“Because, you’ll still need to get to Polygon Man’s dimension from there.” Damien answered. “You see, you guys did a pretty good job scaring the poor guy, once you got your shit together. He got antsy, and shut off any direct links between his place and this world. That was part of the reason he combined all your worlds into one. But there was a problem. He still needed to keep in touch with us, so he made it so people had to go to Calypso’s place to get to him.”
“Then what happens when we get into Calypso’s Realm?” Isaac asked. “Can’t he just easily shut off links like he did with this world?”
