  10.
  11. Why you want to apply for this skill: Being the Guardian of Earth, Vale has a plethora of time to go through and assess his spiritual well being. He would also want to ground himself on a more mental and physiological level, to assist in his choice making. In my character's rank application; I mentioned a prior Earth Guardian. And though the details weren't significant, this man would stress the importance of meditation, for the well being of a budding Guardian of Earth. It's a stressful job. And having that type of keen focus from meditation would help. Ultimately, deep meditation would lead to the release of his Third Eye. That's pretty much the gist of it.
  12.
  13.
  14. A somber peace radiated on the cusps of the lookout, a man in his mid 40's glaring over the edge down to the throngs of people below. A disgruntled look was plastered over his rough features as he shook his head from side to side. Pandemonium, chaos. The planet had been ravaged by evil forces far beyond his means to contain.
  15.
  16. In contrast to the incorruptible, and sullen lookout. The earth was tumultuous. Panic filled the eyes of every denizen, young and old. Buildings collapsing in on themselves, and people going into hiding. It filled the man's heart with pain. Longing for a better future, one he himself was wholely unable to provide the down-cast people below. Closing his eyes, he would fight back any sort of sadness. It was ultimately unproductive. Emotions had no stake in the fate of mankind.
  17.
  18. He needed to gather himself above all else. He needed peace, tranquility. He needed to ground himself; though that may be ironic given he's miles and miles -above- the ground. Chuckling lightly he'd turn away from the fringe of the lookout, and begin to saunter back to the epicenter. His excursion was unhindered, barring small pieces of rubble he would be forced to kick aside. Mayhaps it was time he had Cerik clean the damage from training up. It was unbecoming of an Earth Guardian's home.
  19.
  20. A stiff breeze would blow past the side of his head. A chill crawling up his spine; unsettling the man. Blowing out a slow and gentle breath of air, he'd hop up to the upper platform, making his way to its cusp and taking a slow unhurried seat; his legs crossing underneath him, and his flat palms coming down to rest on his knee-caps.
  21.
  22. It was time to refocus himself. Realign himself with his core values and beliefs. And the way he was taught. Was to refresh his 9 chakras. They were a relatively new concept to the Earth Guardian, but one of his Master expressed great importance on. It would eventually lead me to a fount of power, so he said. Or perhaps he meant liberation from the every-day shackles of life. Regardless, he knew deep down this was the place to begin.
  23.
  24. First, he would begin with the Root Chakra. Something he was in tune with to a greater degree than most. It was a chakra relating to your connection to the planet Earth. How grounded you are. How aware you are of that connection between the planet, and your body. His eyes would begin to drift close, a near whisper of a mantra escaping the pale flesh of his lips. At this exact moment, his focus was planted firmly on the base of his spine; his tailbone. The energy in his core would begin to slowly sweep across his body in gentle pulses, coming into a more vibrant pounding when the wave brushed over his root chakra. All the while his focus never left this spot, as he watched a plot of soil regaining its vibrance; plants and grass bursting forth from the dirt. He hadn't properly done this yet, even after being chided repeatedly by the previous guardian... After 30 minutes of his constant back and forth, a feeling of comfort, well being, safety washed over him. His energy spiking ever so slightly. But that wasn't the benefit he was after. He was after the peace of mind that came from it. That was the point of his chakra.
  25.
  26. Keeping up with the constant pulsating of his core's energy throughout his body; his focus would come to the sacral chakra point - located 2 inches below his navel, and 2 inches in. His emotions were tied into this. Passion. And his sexual fervor. Albeit that last bit was wholely unimportant in the grand scheme of things. It would still affect his day to day life. This chakra was represented by a rippling body of water, disturbed in its vast entirety. Therefore the waves of energy he had to focus here were entirely gentle. Slow. Monotonous. But they were also in absolute contrast to the ripples, going in diverging directions to counteract them entirely. And in time, the body of water was still. Gentle. And his emotions and passions reflected this.
  27.
  28. Now dawdling, and admittedly becoming fascinated with the transient knowledge of meditation. His hands came up to rest under his stomach, his index fingers pushing gently to his upper abdomen as he continued to focus. His Solar Plexus chakra was here. It was also practically inactive. In the chakra's place was an ashen heap that was once a blazing fire. This chakra held within it his ability to connect to others, his creativity, and his confidence. And while it may not have a significant effect on him while it was extinguished, it would spur on a qualitative change within the older male. Instead of the rough pounding of pulsating energy; he would instead focus more full and gentle run overs with his energy. As if a gentle breeze were trying to rekindle the flame, the constant humming mantra the only thing filling the ominous air of the lookout. The once ashen flame was already beginning to spark with newfound life. But he ceased breathing life into it. At this point; it would rekindle itself. And over the course of the next day or so, he will be filled with newfound confidence and mental fortitude. Of that he was sure.
  29.
  30. The next two chakras, his heart, and throat chakra. Were surprisingly already open. Or at least he believed it to be somewhat surprising. But given the nature of his work, It wasn't so farfetched. The heart chakra controlled how much you care. How selfish you are. If you are unfriendly, or cold. But he wasn't any of those things. He was more or less balanced in how he went about things. Albeit he did have to do what was necessary from time to time. It was for the greater good overall. His heart chakra was represented simply by his heart. The way the blood undulated through his veins. How steady his heart was. It was synonymous with the chakra in almost every way, shape and form. Or so he personally believed.
  31.
  32. The next chakra was almost similar, except it was not one he could fully correct. And as his reason was just, it wasn't likely to cause any adverse effects to the rest of this meditation. His master's throat chakra was similarly unaligned. It controlled how annoying you were. If you spoke too much. That part wasn't a problem, but it also dictated if you had a tendency to lie. And lying was important for the Earth Guardian. This chakra was represented by... Music notes. Simple and sweet. Some were mismatched to signify his inability to fully open this chakra. And while that was regrettable, it was also ultimately unchangeable.
  33.
  34. Shifting his focus to the two more important chakras - The chakra of the Third Eye, and the Crown Chakra, he began to wholely focus his attention on the middle of his brow. The third eye was symbolized by something more tangible, and physical; and also spiritual in nature. And he wouldn't get an accurate representation of it until his crown chakra was open. However, he had to do things in order. The flowing energy that was constantly pulsing within his body all congregated together and began to focus on his brow. A throbbing pain filled his senses, but he did his best to overcome these. If successful, he would be less rigid in his thought process. He would potentially even come to terms with the more spiritual side of his job. Which was important.
  35.
  36. After a few moments of the same mantra, and the pain, he forced himself away. From the third eye chakra, he began to blossom his energy out to his crown. It was represented by a budding universe. A black void filling the everlasting expanse of nothingness. It was a pity. This chakra was also focused more so on the spiritual and intellectual side of meditation. And it also assisted in one's focus on their own bodily needs. As he forced this chakra opens, the energy he had at his disposal dispersed. Specks of energy dotting the black void, vibrant stars taking shape in every direction.
  37.
  38. A cold sweat formed on his forehead, and a loud gasp escaped his lips as he broke his trance, the skin at the center of his brow throbbing. An eye like crater was beginning to form, as the skin began to tear itself asunder. Blood seeped down the man's face as he panted, his body almost going into shock as an eye with agitated veins stretching from the pupil and cornea spread into the lens. He let out a pained shriek, but his mind was calm. He realized how foolish he may look if anyone were to see him. He could rationalize his pain way better than before and came to himself more quickly. However, his body was still twitching, as if he were itching to simply cast off the eye.
  39.
  40. It appeared his Master was correct, however. Meditation would bring clarity, and even potential strength. This was something he would have to teach younger generations. And with time, once the planet was in a better place. He would.
