Selyenist Background Info

So for setting weve got my whole fairly fleshed out world, which is cool
(Note: don't take the info about races as gospel. That's just kind of like the original "natives," so yeah)

The city you start in is Peskeryen, but the capitol is actually Selyen
Other nearby important cities include Meeryen, Forthilyen, Kehrohyen, and Peskeryen
The whole Selyenist is mostly human
Meeryen and Forthilyen have most of the halflings and halfelves
To the west is Barhokist. It's mostly forested, so we got like elves and shit
To the north we have the mountains of the Belrefist, mostly inhabited by half-orcs et al.
The dwarves have their capitol (Ifryen) in the mountain pass, with other outposts scattered around
To the south is the isle of Haisan
To the east, we have the Halbjed Archipelago whose capitol is Skyreyen
The Pell-Halb are made up of a mixture of races
To the north of the Belrefist, the Sharos is mostly unsettled wilderness
Far to the north is the city of Syreponte, though most people think its just a legend (Deva/Githerzai/Summat?)
Further east even than Skyre, we have Reistenesse, home of the dragonborn
They have their own "orc-style" dudes, except in their case they have giants
Most of the dragons there are live in the more wilderness-y areas like Far Reisteness or the Sharos or deep Belrefist
There's something to the west of Baarhokist, but I haven't thought of what yet
South of Reistenesse and southeast of the Halbjed archipelago, we have a nice little sub-continent
This land is a nice little of citystates, the most prominent one on the western side being Arsiel
Arsielsa is very arid, with coastal desert slowly fading into rocky hills as one heads further and further south/east

There are about 290,000 people living in cities

There are about 90 towns
The largest towns are about 6/7000 people
With an average population per town of 3000 people, there are about 270,000 people living in towns
This means that the urban population is about 550,000; this is approximately 2% of the total population
The total amount of arable land is about 140,000 square miles
That means that approximately 46% of the land is wilderness, rivers, or lakes

Assuming that castles have been being built for a thousand years, there are about 160 ruined castles
There are approximately 600 castles currently in use
450 of these castles are in normal, relatively safe areas
The other 150 are in not-quite-as-safe areas, like the foothills of the Belrefist, or the border with Sharos
A good number of the ruined ones are on the border with the Baarhokist

There are about 55 million livestock animals
Something like 37 million of those are various fowl
The remaining animals are approximately 30% sheep, 30% pigs, 15% goats, 15% cattle, 7% oxen, and 3% horses
