  1. Jiah washed the blood from his blade carefully, then cleaned his hand in the shallow flowing stream. Arizima and Koth, having found out they both share an appreciation for the sun, were in prayer and meditation together. They finished up and joined the other two.
  2.
  3. "Of all the tasks I've run, that was without a doubt the most smoothly executed." Jiah grinned. "I'd be willing to work with you guys again anytime."
  4.
  5. Koth chimed in, "Why, yes, I think it's safe to say that was well executed. I think we were in and out in just ten minutes. Your sword work was quite skilled, J, and your sorcery as well Arizima. The sun truly blesses us all in strange ways."
  6.
  7. Arizima couldn't show his feelings, his face obscured by his hood. So well, in fact, it almost looked like a dark void but for his shiny eyes showing through. "I agree. Everyone here is quite skilled, I hope we may be so lucky to work together again some day."
  8.
  9. Jiah drummed his hands on the table, "Man, they way we ambushed those guys as they were setting up their post. I'm not one for police work, but taking out bandits was pretty enjoyable. And Jack over here with the quips! 'Fuck you, you bitch!' Could never get tired of that one."
  10.
  11. Jack offered him a smile, but kept quiet to himself. The first gathering of what would lead to the house of the rising sun happened that day, a small hit put out on a group of roadside bandits who had been harassing people traveling between two towns. Both the town halls in each place had put up an entire gold, plus a life time of free stays in the inn. Quite the spoils. As they excitedly spoke about their past training and what jobs they hoped to find next, the shadow of the future loomed over them, dark and foreboding in a way they yet could not sense. On these men's shoulders the fate of us all was slowly being rolled, a weight that would crush some of them underneath it, and a difficult weight many would come to bear.
