  1. I'm Drkst, a raider in Wildcard Gaming (formerly Easy) which is the US rank 2 guild. Legion was the first expansion I went into a hardcore raiding environment and I am here to outline the negative aspects of how Legion is ending leading into BFA and the rocky start it has already encountered and the future problems BFA will have. Points 1-5 are a recap of what I hated through Legion you've probably heard before so if you're here for BFA issues skip to there
  2.
  3. I won't circle jerk the biggest issue about legion but consider my #0 complaint the legendary rng system, but its been complained about for 2 years now. It does however lead me into my first point of
  4.
  5. 1) Unstable Arcanoscrystal. Even today some people are still using Arcanocrystal's that were high 800 ilvl (172 now?) in mythic progression due to it being overpowered for classes such as hunter and warlock. The fact that this item didn't get touched all expansion is absolutely ridiculous seeing how Convergence of Fates was tuned multiple times and still was used by warriors till 8.0.
  6.
  7. Now why would warriors still be using a nerfed trinket? Well this is where I'll group (almost) every other trinket in my next point of...
  8.
  9. 2) Loss aversion. Instead of releasing current content trinkets to be in line with the previous trinkets or buff the current ones to be "broken" (if they're all broken then are they really broken), Blizzard instead just nerfs the old. This is where loss aversion comes in. It feels much worse to lose $100 then it does to gain $100. When an item gets nerfed it feels like you lost a big investment. I'm not saying that Arcanocrystal should have been nerfed which could have been a solution, but instead tune up the trinkets that were middle of the pact. Forgefiend Fabricator was just a shittier Umbral Moonglaives that no one touched and I'm 100% positive a lot more classes wouldn't touch some of the other Antorus trinkets if they had Arcanocrystal or....
  10.
  11. 3) Aman'Thul's. "I never see warlocks running Aman'Thul's so it must be bad." This was undoubtedly the dumbest part of Legion. Many classes BiS trinket is literally one the rarest item in all of Legion and there was no catchup mechanic involved with it. Unless Blizzard makes it a guaranteed drop in the next few weeks, some people will have 20+ Pantheon's Blessings saved up and still no Aman'Thuls going into BFA. Imagine telling your player base "I know you're a mythic raider and you put hours into our game but BIG SORRY you're just not lucky enough to get your BiS gear, despite you running Argus for 30 weeks on your main and multiple other characters."
  12.
  13. But maybe giving everyone Aman'Thul's would be too OP, maybe that would make....
  14.
  15. 4) Argus too easy. As of today over 1500 guilds have killed Argus which means slightly less than 1500 guilds got Cutting Edge. In contrast to KJ which again AS OF TODAY only has around 800 kills. ToS has been out for double the time that Antorus has been out but KJ has half as many kills. By far the most satisfying kill to me was KJ but Argus felt so much more lack luster especially for an end of expansion boss.
  16.
  17. Speaking of KJ lets lead into BFA and how Blizzard is making its players into....
  18.
  19. 5) "Free testers done their job". As KJ showed, Blizzard is unable to release content that is even remotely smooth. Today my guild (US 2nd btw) was struggling to kill Mythic GULDAN. Heroic Felhounds is one shotting mythic raider tanks and many guilds are 4 tanking mythic Felhounds. Did anyone at Blizzard even think to test out the current raid?
  20.
  21. 6) Artifact removal. This goes back to the loss aversion aspect but does anyone's class actually feel better after playing today? This question was asked to our raid team and not a single person could say their class was improved. When your most dedicated player base has not a single beneficial comment about how their classes are played its a problem. And the pruning doesn't stop there, just wait 3 weeks until legendaries are unusable. But while we're at it lets talk about all those things we lost this pre patch
  22.
  23. 7) Removed content. Mage towers. SotA/Ashran. AP farming. First Aid. WQGF.
  24.
  25. 8) Content gained.
  26.
  27. 9) Time gating. The pre patch questline won't even start until next week so at max level more things were removed than gained. After the complaints people had over Legion Pathfinder Pt 2 and Broken Shore questline taking 12 weeks(?) you would think Blizzard would learn that the community collectively does not like waiting a week for the next chapter to come out like we're watching My Hero Academia.
  28.
  29. Lightening round since I just saw u/solacespecs post which is a good read
  30.
  31. 10) Scaling Issues. 11) Leveling Issues. 12) Graphical Bugs. 13) Broken quests/Achievements/Class Hall. 14) Disappointing Decisions.
  32.
  33. 15) Blizzard knows best. "You think you do but you don't." This is what I believe will lead WoW to its downfall. As of recent years Blizzard has adopted a smug mentality where they ignore the criticism and feedback they receive from their player base. During beta two classes were completely unplayable, Balance Druid and Shadow Priest. Why was one fixed while the other was told "see you in 8.1 xd"? For months now class discords have put in thousands of hours of work into making feedback, bug reports, sims and guides, simply out of the passion we have for this game but its disrespectful to their whole player base when feedback goes on deaf ears, bugs that were documented go unread, and sims and guides immediately have to be updated post launch since Blizzard's play testing team didn't foresee classes stacking talent + legendaries of the same effect. Also its the fucking pre patch, theres no CE and 3 weeks left of Legion, why are you hot fixing stuff instead of letting people have fun? Its a game we're all meant to have fun playing but Blizzard controls the way we play too often.
