Vergil grit his teeth. He burned the iron and Pulled Sam towards him again. He held the Metal Bat in hand. Sam flew towards him at the speed of a fastball. He’d fly away at that speed too.

Vergil skipped ahead through time to ensure Sam could not react. He slammed the Metal Bat against Sam’s chest and sent him flying overhead. He crashed against a high rocky outcropping of the Qliphoth and crushed it to dust. Vergil closed in again. He switched to his gauntlets.

Vergil delivered a single punch, only for Sam to collide with it. The force of the collision sent a loud BOOM throughout the Qliphoth.

“How…” said Vergil. “After I’ve spent all this time searching for power, while you’ve done nothing. How can you match me?”

Sam grinned a shit-eating grin. “I guess I’ve always just been that good.”
