Uthonian Worlds

Preface:
	The Uthonian Nexis is a vast and enigmatic hive-mind that inhabits a region of space close to the center of the Peritania galaxy. The primary species called Uthon are arthropod in nature, this is due to their many similarities with the ants of Sol III (earth).While this hive appears to be aggressive in nature, they tend to keep to themselves and avoid conflict unless necessary. This hive was first discovered in 2293 by a deep space exploratory science vessel, and made contact with our agents for a brief time. Isolationist in nature this hive has elected to close it’s space off to all “singled”. As such there is little knowledge on the details of the hives inner functions. What we can conclude is from wreckage, interactions, and wars with them.

Uthonian Home World and Various Hive Worlds:
	Originally named Elaam, this world has come to be known as “First Synapse” and is at the center of the Nexis’ space. Originally a tropical world with an oxygen rich atmosphere, the hive has since terraformed the planet itself into a living and functioning part of the hive. It is guessed that because of such extreme terraforming the hive is able to work at about 10% higher efficiency than most non hive individuals on a normally habitable world. While artificial structures and cities exist on the world, many functions such as waste disposal, security observation, and other highly menial jobs are done by the planet itself. These planets also increase the amount of control that the overmind has over individual drones. This is done by acting as a massive broadcasting station, though synaptic nexus’ are visible on planetary surfaces.
	It has been found that the homeworld of First Synapse has an entire walled off city dedicated to receiving visitors from neighboring “hives” and that this city and its drones have been specifically tailored to interacting with others. This city includes everything from hotels to tourist traps, even casinos are present. The drones and overmind have made it clear however, visitors are not to leave the walls of the city, as drones outside are liable to attack on sight. There have been a few incidents to date where individuals have left this city, most notably are a Fefing and a Darexi who both wound up trapped in a breeding pit. No harm was done physically.
~[Second Synapse]
The Uthonian Nexus world known as “Second Synapse” Appears to be a forge world. Covered with alloy production facilities and mines, this world produces a majority of the alloys needed for the hive to expand and maintain itself. Atmospheric reads from operations within hive space shows that the air itself at sea level is toxic. A majority of the cities and living quarters for drone residents appear to be in high altitudes or under ground. No information is known further for this world
~[Third Synapse]
The planet known as “Third Synapse” seems to be a generator world. Vast generator districts cover it, and there appears to be constant shipments of nuclear material to the planet to power it. This planet would appear to send off massive batteries to other hive worlds to power the machinery and every other facet of the hive. Scans show that this planet has an unusually high number of research complexes on it, as well as a high population of complex drones.
~[Fourth Synapse]
	Going by the name of “Fourth Synapse”, the scans of this world seem to indicate that it is primarily a mining world. Continued scans show vast underground mining networks for this planet, that are filled with drones. Like many of the Uthonian worlds this world is a hive world and enjoys a boost to productivity.
~[5th Synapse]
	Scouts have reported that this planet seems to be composed almost entirely of scientific research centers. While this world has a fairly low population in comparison with the rest of the world, it takes the most resources. Continued observation has shown that this is where the “brain drones” reside and conceive of new technology and ideas.
~[TEXAS]
	Codenamed “TEXAS” this world appears to be the main agricultural center of the swarm. It has been noted that there are concentration-like camps dotting the planet that have everything from animals to sentient beings trapped and fattened up to feed to the swarm. Those who have managed to escape the world have shown extreme morbid obesity and signs of abuse from being force fed. Many of the practices on this world seem to be reminiscent of 20th century industrial farming practices, where livestock were kept in small containers their whole life and only let out to be slaughtered for food.
