  1. This is an addendum for EntropicLobo's existing GC strategy guide to guide through the N64 prototype.
  2.
  3. For the first 8 stages the N64 has very few differences outside of some mechanics and which training grounds / bonus stages appear when.
  4. *) There is a memory limitation on the number of cubivores that will appear at any given time, so occasionally one will only appear after others are eaten.
  5. *) You only get a bonus EZ-Mutate at your 50th mutation. At 150, all mutations become EZ-Mutate.
  6. *) No bugs are colored red but they can certainly bite.
  7. *) Mating is always 100% successful.
  8. *) When replaying (NewGame+) you do not have the option of leaving a stage at any time from the start menu.
  9. *) Rage + Dark + Pale fulfills requirements for Dark. Makes sense from the perspective of palette, but not logic.
  10. *) IMPORTANT! In the prototype, as soon as you get your 100th mutation you are transported to the Sacred Cubivore Clearing to battle King Cubivore and the four Divabeasts.
  11. *) You only visit Venery Beach if you lose against King Cubivore and select "continue".
  12.
  13. In stages where not all cubivores will be loaded into memory, remaining ones appear when the stage is refreshed. This happens automatically when you sleep, when you move between areas, when the dead are finally garbage-collected, and when you view the bestiary (Start menu).
  14. After eating one or more bugs, herbibeasts, or cubivores simply press Start to enter the bestiary, then leave.
  15.
  16. Strategy remains relatively the same until stage 9, when Rage is introduced.
  17. "Clash" does not exist in the prototype. Instead of combining conflicting colors, "DarkRage" simply combines dark and rage meat of the same color.
  18. Bit of a shame really. Clash was an excellent addition to the game, and without it the third+ lap is one massive cheatingly easy slayfest, plus pooing and diet plan are a lot less useful. Guess shelving this title for a couple years did some good in the end.
  19.
  20. *Note that stage 12 appears unfinished in the prototype. No Rage types are present, only Pale, PaleDark, and Dark. There are no changes on replay, and the bonus stage is always open.
  21. This is particularly odd since every other stage already has Rage forms throughout.
  22. The English translation adds them in; this will be noted below.

  84. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  85. Mating Thresholds
  86. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  87.
  88. Mating is always 100% successful in the prototype.
  89. Your available children are always the same, ranging Pale to Rage, Yellow to Grey.
  90. It is not influenced by your own type or any other factors besides total mutations.
  91. For every 100 lovebits, one is added to the value below.
  92.
  93. The number of females you attract is based on this table:
  94. 1 8 1 Pale Yellowbrate
  95. 8 10 2 Pale Redaped
  96. 10 15 3 Pale Bluocyte
  97. 15 20 4 Pale Purpial
  98. 20 25 5 Pale Greyodon
  99. 25 30 6 PaleDark Yellowbrate
  100. 30 35 7 PaleDark Redaped
  101. 35 40 8 PaleDark Bluocyte
  102. 40 50 9 PaleDark Purpial
  103. 50 60 10 PaleDark Greyodon
  104. 60 70 11 Dark Yellowbrate
  105. 70 80 13 Dark Redaped
  106. 80 90 14 Dark Bluocyte
  107. 90 100 15 Dark Purpial
  108. 100 110 16 Dark Greyodon
  109. 110 120 17 DarkRage Yellowbrate
  110. 120 130 18 DarkRage Redaped
  111. 130 140 19 DarkRage Bluocyte
  112. 140 150 20 DarkRage Purpial
  113. 150 999 21 DarkRage Greyodon
  114. All Darks are registered at 999 mutations, making them unavailable unless you use lovebits to cheat that number.
  115. At 150 mutations, all mutations are registered as EZ-Mutates.
  116.
  117. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  118. Rainbow Heaven
  119. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  120.
  121. ...does not exist as a standalone stage. Instead, this will be available from a warp point in Whitestill Highlands.
  122.
  123. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  124. CV5.7: Whitestill Highlands
  125. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  126.
  127. The CEO Beast drops the Raw-Bone, and the Parental Advisory Beast the Raw-Shnoz.
  128.
  129. It's best to wait to take the warp to Rainbow Heaven until you've mutated into either a grey or a purple (to run backwards).
  130. After the tutorial, instead of going to the portal cross the rainbows to the other islands. You'll find a decent number of additional bits and rejuvenators.
  131.
  132. This is one of the stages where there are so many cubivores not all can be loaded into memory at the start.
  133. Firstly, make certain to eat every bug and herbibeast there is. They count towards the cap as well.
  134. Moving between the two areas and entering the Start menu will reload the stage, and potentially new beasts.
  135.
  136. Firstly, despite what's above, don't eat all the Pales at first. You're likely missing the 3-limb Pale Yellow.
  137. It's also infinitely easier to eat something that's already Pale versus repeatedly biting to catch the right limb.
  138.
  139. The Dark Red Ratchet won't be available until most other beasts are devoured.
  140. There's enough Dark Red to eat two of them as a 2-limb, even if you didn't choose Beebee.
  141. As far as pure Darks there's two Jigbits, a Bevel, and a Ratchet. The Beebees are the only source of Pale meat.
  142. As a 3-limb, take out the Ratchet (it should be loaded now), a Jigbit for the Dark, then eat the Beebee for the Pale.
  143.
  144. Get the 2-limb Yellow Dark; there's plenty of opportunities later for the 3-limb.
  145.
  146. Purple next. Unlike the original guide, eat a Dark off the 2-limb PaleDark Pants, then the Stocking for Adolescence.
  147. Go outside and feast on the Play right outside the door for the PaleDark form.
  148. After breeding, pick off the remaining Pants--pooing the Pale if it's low--then the for .
  149. You should have PaleDark already, but if not you should find an Eject just outside the door.
  150.
  151. Carets and Brackets are the source of Blue Dark meat and there's plenty.
  152. Even if you don't pick the Pale off the Armrests there should be Pales outside.
  153. Leave at least one though for post-mating; you get both meat by default. Eat one after mutating into Caret.
  154.
  155. Pick off the Parental Advisor Beast's guards for Dark Grey Scentaur. It's the best form to loot Rainbow Heaven.
  156. If you need the PaleDark, there's a Pale just outside the cave.
  157.
  158. 39 mutations, 13 new.
  159. ***2-Limbed Dark Yellowbrate: Calliper
  160. ***3-Limbed Pale Yellowbrate: Cranky
  161. ***2-Limbed PaleDark Redaped: Beebee
  162. ***2-Limbed Dark Redaped: Bevel
  163. ***3-Limbed PaleDark Redaped: Musket
  164. ***3-Limbed Dark Redaped: Ratchet
  165. ***2-Limbed PaleDark Bluocyte: Armrest
  166. ***2-Limbed Dark Bluocyte: Bracket
  167. ***3-Limbed Dark Bluocyte: Caret
  168. ***2-Limbed PaleDark Purpial: Pants
  169. ***2-Limbed Dark Purpial: Adolescence
  170. ***3-Limbed Dark Purpial: Firstdate
  171. ***3-Limbed Dark Greyodon: Scentaur
  172.
  173. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  174. CV5.8: Lake Getum
  175. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  176.
  177. There are four pieces of Raw-Claw instead of Raw-Shnoz, but otherwise no significant differences.
  178.
  179. One of the Dark Yellows is a delayed spawn, but there are still enough to mutate before mating.
  180. Doing so pushes you over the threshold to 9 females. You can breed up to PaleDark Purpial, and with lovebits the Greyodon.
  181. I'd recommend the PaleDark Purpial over the Grey Notebook. Greyodons are fast so having an EZ-Mutate to one is handy, but the Purple is harder to acquire.
  182.
  183. This stage does not contain an active portal to Snake in the Grassland in the prototype. As a result, none of those forms can be acquired this early and your mutation count will be closer to 40-45 by the start of the next stage.
  184.
  185. Fairly slim pickings. Eat all the blues after mating, then the two Pale Reds followed by the PaleDark Red.
  186. In the second area, pick off the two Pale Greys before the PaleDark. There's nothing else of color here, besides a Slot Token.
  187.
  188. 46 mutations, 7 new.
  189. ***3-Limbed Dark Yellowbrate: Fenderbender
  190. ***4-Limbed Pale Redaped: Halfmast
  191. ***4-Limbed PaleDark Redaped: Derringer
  192. ***4-Limbed Pale Bluocyte: Tuningfork
  193. ***4-Limbed PaleDark Purpial: Kimono (via mating)
  194. ***4-Limbed Pale Greyodon: Afro
  195. ***4-Limbed PaleDark Greyodon: Notebook
  196.
  197. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  198. CV5.9: Ultimarsh
  199. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  200.
  201. The prototype has a Rampage Bowl instead of a Wooden Horse.
  202.
  203. Since the special stage "Snake in the Grassland" wasn't available before you won't have the Dark Yellowbrate Streetpancake available unless you have 200 lovebits available. There's around 33 in this stage.
  204.
  205. Most importantly, not all beasts are loaded at the beginning, so plan around this. You should be around 50 mutations at this point, and the 50th will become an EZ-Mutate. Dark Greyodon is available at basically any point and should be very handy in the future.
  206.
  207. From the onset, all of the Purpials and Greyodons are available. As you devour beasts/bugs the remaining unloaded ones will appear.
  208. In order of appearance:
  209. The second Pale Purpial.
  210. The Dark Bluocytes.
  211. The Dark Yellowbrate near the Pales.
  212. Several additional Herbibeasts and PaleDark Grey.
  213. The Dark Redaped near the Pale Bluocytes.
  214.
  215. Purpial:
  216. Eat the two Pale Purpials near the Bluocytes to take on the 5-Limbed Pale form
  217. Speeddub. Camouflage and sneak around to find a Dark Purpial near the Yellows
  218. and another near the Paledark Reds. Eating both will land you the PaleDark form
  219. Kimono, then the Dark Form Honeymoon.
  220.
  221. Greyodon:
  222. Get Pale Meat from one of the PaleDarks. Keep trying them until you have pale
  223. meat in your mouth. As long as you have two Pale meats, isolated, you're good
  224. to go. There should be a Pale Greyodon nearby. Eat it to take on the Toupee
  225. pale form. Now, go eat a PaleDark Greyodon. Get Dark Meat, keep latching on
  226. until you have some in your jaws, this will land you the PaleDark form Binder.
  227.
  228. Okay, now comes the hard part, Dark Grey. If you have two Dark Greys in a row
  229. from the PaleDark form, isolate them (poop any pale grey to the left of them)
  230. and get ready to rumble. Please note that the Scenturions are extremely
  231. powerful, and the District Attorney is just a stronger version of them. You need
  232. to lure one over to you, there is NO question about this. If not, they will
  233. knock you senseless and steal your raw meat.
  234.
  235. Bluocytes: (once Dark available)
  236. When you find the Bluocytes, pick either the Pale or Dark forms, probably the
  237. Dark. Pick them off one at a time, run and camouflage between each one. You will
  238. eat the second group after the first, and this will allow you to take on the
  239. forms 5-Limbed Pale Blue: Triangle, PaleDark: SleepingBag, and Dark: Tilde.
  240.
  241. Yellowbrate: (once Dark available)
  242. Find them, eat the Dark form, then the two Pales. This should land you with the
  243. PaleDark form Bowtie, and the Pale form Forklift.
  244.
  245. Redaped: (once Dark available)
  246. Eat a PaleDark Redaped, then based on which colours you get, eat another Red.
  247. With two colours in a row, isolate them and eat the appropriate Red to take on
  248. that form. If the meats are mixed up, then eat the other PaleDark Red to take
  249. on the PaleDark form, hopefully getting two meats of the same colour in a row
  250. with him. AT LEAST get two forms out of this.
  251.
  252. 59 mutations, 13 new.
  253.
  254. ***5-Limbed Pale Yellowbrate: Forklift
  255. ***5-Limbed PaleDark Yellowbrate: Bowtie
  256. --------------
  257. Two Redapeds:
  258. ***5-Limbed Pale Redaped: Flaggy
  259. ***5-Limbed PaleDark Redaped: Sixshooter
  260. ***5-Limbed Dark Redaped: Jigsaw
  261. ---------------
  262. ***5-Limbed Pale Bluocytes: Triangle
  263. ***5-Limbed PaleDark Bluocytes: Sleepingbag
  264. ***5-Limbed Dark Bluocytes: Tilde
  265. ***5-Limbed Pale Purpial: Speeddub
  266. ***5-Limbed PaleDark Purpial: Kimono
  267. ***5-Limbed Dark Purpial: Honeymoon
  268. ***5-Limbed Pale Greyodon: Toupee
  269. ***5-Limbed PaleDark Greyodon: Binder
  270. ***5-Limbed Dark Greyodon: Scentipede
  271.
  272. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  273. CV5.10: Rainbow Heaven 2
  274. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  275.
  276. ...does not exist!
  277.
  278. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  279. CV5.11: Paw Pasture
  280. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  281.
  282. Strategy, at this point, shifts significantly since Clash is formed from Dark & Rage mixes of the same color in the prototype.
  283. In addition, most of the bonus stages aren't available until your second playthrough.
  284.
  285. The Wooden Horse is in the east, not in the cave to the west. That's now a treadmill.
  286. The Rage Yellow Closeknees doesn't seem to exist in this version. The secret passage only contains two bits.
  287.
  288. You can eat every pig/bear except one Buzzcut and these Dark varieties:
  289. Dark Yellow Diskbrake
  290. PaleDark Purple Stocking
  291. PaleDark Red Squirtgun (easier than selecting the Dark meat on Beebee; necessary if you're missing Bevel)
  292. You need the Buzzcut to make a PaleDark, but if you mate into it, chomp away.
  293. Dark Blue Hyphen is optional. Bracket will also fulfill the DarkRage requirements, but if you're missing Bracket somehow leave it for later.
  294.
  295. As a 1-limb, eat Stapler for the PaleDark Grey Stickypad, plus Bevel for the Dark Red Jigbit.
  296. Eat one, and only one, of the DarkRage Yellows nearby to get the 1-limbed Footrace form.
  297. You have the option of eating the Scenter now to get the 1-limb Dark instead of the 2-limb.
  298.
  299. Red:
  300. After mating, bite the Rage meat off the DarkRage Spurs, then backtrack and eat the PaleDark Red Squirtgun for the mutation.
  301. If you missed getting a Bevel or Beebee before, rip the appropriate meat off the PaleDark Beebee.
  302.
  303. Blue:
  304. Next are the Blues. Get the Rage meat from a DarkRage Backpacker, then the Dark from the Bracket nearby or the Hyphen from earlier.
  305. If you're missing Bracket, eat the other remaining beast.
  306.
  307. Yellow:
  308. Pick off the second DarkRage Footrace, then double back to the 1-limb Dark Diskbrake for Shotput, the 2-limb mutation.
  309.
  310. Purple:
  311. The Purpial Cleaners have fixed drops. One gives Rage, the other Dark. Eat both for Cleaner, or get the Rage and double back to the Stocking.
  312.
  313. Grey:
  314. Eat the Rage meat off of the Studio, then eat the Scenter to mutate into DarkRage Grey Studio.
  315. If the Scenty is still roaming about, eat it now to get the Dark Scenter mutation.
  316. Irregardless, eating a Buzzcut gains the PaleDark 2-limb Stapler.
  317.
  318. 69 Mutations, 10 New:
  319.
  320. ***1-Limbed DarkRage Yellowbrate: Footrace
  321. ***2-Limbed DarkRage Yellowbrate: Shotput
  322. ***1-Limbed Dark Redaped: Jigbit
  323. ***2-Limbed DarkRage Redaped: Spurs
  324. ***2-Limbed DarkRage Bluocyte: Backpacker
  325. ***2-Limbed DarkRage Purpial: Cleaner
  326. ***1-Limbed PaleDark Greyodon: Stickypad
  327. ***2-Limbed PaleDark Greyodon: Stapler
  328. ---------------
  329. One of these two
  330. ***1-Limbed Dark Greyodon: Scenty
  331. ***2-Limbed Dark Greyodon: Scenter
  332. ---------------
  333. ***2-Limbed DarkRage Greyodon: Studio
  334.
  335. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  336. CV5.12: Verdigrass Highlands
  337. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  338.
  339. The Dark Purpial Firstdate isn't a realistic mating possibility. You can mutate into one in this stage though. If you missed any PaleDark forms you can pick them up now as well.
  340.
  341. It's safe to eat all the Pale forms here. The Grass Box contains a Rejuvenator and several aggressive bugs.
  342. Like in the original guide, work through each of the three sections, collect bits, train, and avoid the Beastructions.
  343.
  344. This stage appears incomplete in the Prototype. Without Rage basically none of the 3-limbed forms can be made on your first run through the game.
  345. On subsequent playthroughs no additional Cubivores will appear, including additional Beastructions.
  346. The teleporter, once you drive back the wilderness, goes to Cat Trails. This might not have been intended either, considering in final the stage is reserved for NewGame+.
  347. Realisticly, this place is only useful for its bits. It helps to go into the area already having Dark Grey meat to, firstly, be a Greyodon and actually catch something, and secondly so you're more likely to get a mutation out of whatever you caught. You can potentially get Len here, but it's aggravating.
  348. Even if you don't get the Len this time, on subsequent runs through the game the first cutscene won't occur. You'll be able to catch the Freeloader before it scampers off!
  349.
  350. The only mutation you're likely missing will be Firstdate, so after collecting it and all the bits it's safe to leave.
  351.
  352. ---------------

  387. 2-Limb Dark Blue Bracket (center)
  388.
  389. ---------------
  390. English Translation
  391.
  392. The English translation changes the available species to include Rage forms. This way, approximately the same mutations attained in the final GC version can be collected here, and it's possible to collect over 100 mutations in the first playthrough.
  393. Thankfully GC was a bit lazy about this and direct substitutions in most cases.
  394.
  395. There isn't a Howdy inside the crate, only a rejuvenator and a lot of pesky bugs.
  396. The Beastructions do a lot of damage but they aren't actually capable of eating you. So long as nothing else is nearby that can, you're free to play ragdoll with them as long as you like ;*)
  397.
  398. The general strategy matches that of the original walkthrough, though the mutation chains are more obvious. Do a full tour of the stag before mutating, avoiding teh Beastructions as best you can.
  399. You should be able to get both the Red & Blue Rages, as well as the full set of RageDark in addition to any Dark or PaleDark you may have missed in earlier laps.
  400.
  401. Red:
  402. Grab the Rage off Spurs in Area 2 and the Howdys in Areas 1 & 3 for Violin.
  403. The PaleDark Beebee in Area 2 or Dark Jigbit in Area 3 will net Linedance.
  404. If you're adept at Diet Plan you can get the Dark off Beebee right after eating Spurs, then poo out the Darks.
  405.
  406. Blue:
  407. Pull the Rage off the Backpacker in Area 3, then pick off the Prospectors in Areas 1 & 2 for Electricfan.
  408. The PaleDark Armrest in Area 2 or Dark Hyphen in Area 3 will net Bellhop.
  409.
  410. Purple:
  411. There are two PaleDarks in Area 2 and two Darks in Area 3.
  412. You're probably missing the Dark Purpial Firstdate so eat the Darks to get it. Alternately, if you have Rage + Dark + Pale this also fulfills Dark in the prototype.
  413. The DarkRage Rag in Area 1 is the only Rage Purple available. Feast on it after getting Firstdate for Broom.
  414.
  415. Grey:
  416. Combine the Darks from the Stickypad and Stapler in Area 2 with the Rage from the Freeloader in Area 1.
  417. The portal to Cat Trails remains open, so if you want to take it going as a Greyodon is ideal.
  418. In the locations with two patches of grass, one will have Rage, the other Dark.
  419.
  420. Leave Yellow for last. You'll carry a Rage limb over to the next stage to get the 3-limb Rage form before mating.
  421. Pick off the Yellow Shotput and Diskbrake in Area 3 to get Dumbell.

  475. CV5.13: Killing Plains
  476. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  477.
  478. Contains 3 raw meat, not 2. Once again, the drops are a bit different.
  479. The Pursesnatcher Cubivore (first boss) drops the Raw-Shnoz and the Conman Cubivore (second boss) has the Raw-Claw.
  480. Unlike in the final game, you'll also face the Muscleman Cubivore after mating a second time. The Raw-Peeper opens the door to the next stage.
  481.
  482. There aren't enough beasts to get more than 2 forms of any color. Additionally, there isn't enough Rage for any more than 3-limbed forms.
  483. 3-limbed Rage Yellow and Rage Blue are available if you're careful about your eating.
  484. If you were following the other guide you should already have all the 5-limb Dark types and none of the 4-limb Dark, DarkRage, or Dark forms.
  485.
  486. Mating (Proto)
  487. Chances are the 4-limb Dark form Ditto is your best mating option, factoring in you have at least 100 lovebits.
  488. Dark Purple is preferable, but any type you can't really acquire in this stage is essential.
  489.
  490. Mating (English Translation)
  491. The suggested breeding as a 4-limb is Dark Purple. You won't be able to get it any other way in this stage.
  492. If you have 80 or more mutations you'll only need 100 lovebits for Dark Purpials to be available. Save collecting the rest until after your second mating. Use those in the next stage for more options on an adult form.
  493. You should have nearly 200 lovebits. If you're in the 70s you'll need all 200.
  494.
  495. At 80 mutations in the translation you'll get a bonus EZ-Mutation, but not in the unedited prototype. Make it count.
  496.
  497. Yellow (Proto)
  498. [3-limb Rage Knockknees + 3-limb DarkRage Dumbbell / 4-limb Dark Wreckage]
  499. Eat the 3-limb Yellow Dumbbell first, then make sure you get the 2 rage off the 4-limb Sumo. At this point you have the option of eating a Fenderbender for the DarkRage form or saving them for after mating.
  500. If you don't want to go through that hassle, just get the 4 & 5-limb DarkRage instead.
  501. Yellow (English Translation)
  502. [3-limb Dark Knocknees + 4-limb Dark Wreckage + 4-limb DarkRage Sumo]
  503. If you're playing the English translation, coming into this stage with a Rage Yellow limb offers an easy 3-limb Rage option.
  504. Poo out any Dark Yellow you need to and tear the two Rage off the Sumo. Reset as required.
  505. After mating the first time, eat the Dumbbell, making sure to get its Rage meat along with a Dark.
  506. Chomp down a Fenderbender to make the DarkRage form Sumo, then the other Fenderbender to get the 4-limb Dark Wreckage.
  507.
  508. Red
  509. Rage isn't an option. As a 4-limb you won't be able to get more than 2 Rage off the Lasso and there isn't enough for a 5-limb mutation.
  510. Eat the Linedance and one of the two Darks for DarkRage Stirrup, and after mating the second time eat the Lasso and other Dark for Lasso.
  511. Alternatively, take Stirrup and the Dark Router, both 4-limb forms.
  512.
  513. Blue (Proto)
  514. Similar to the Yellow. One Porter has 1 Rage, the other 2. If you can combine them you'll get the 3-limb Electricfan, then eat the Ditto for the DarkRage Bellhop.
  515. At the least, get one of the DarkRage forms. Until the Ceilingfan is available on replay there won't be enough blue for two forms any other way.
  516. Blue (English Translation)
  517. You should already have the 3-limbed Electricfan and Bellhop. Instead, we'll get the 4-limbed Ditto and Porter.
  518. One of the Porters has 2 Rage and 2 Dark meat, the other 3 Dark and 1 Rage. You're going to eat both, trying to get two Dark in the lowest slots. If you do, follow up by eating the Ditto to take its form as well. It might not be possible; the limbs are manually set and it might not allow you to bite any other location.
  519. Porter is one of the best forms to take on the Conman Cubivore. DarkRage Blue in general is a good set.
  520.
  521. Purple
  522. There are 2 5-limb Toothbrushes and, on replay, a 6-limb Sprawl. Each has 3 rage and 2 dark. You're only going to get one form; The patterns alternate in a way that should make it impossible to get 4 Rages.
  523. If you get the 5-limb instead of 4, make sure you don't overeat and wind up with Dark.
  524. Breed to get the 4-limb Dark mutation.
  525.
  526. Grey
  527. The only greys are the Dark Scentsless and there's enough to get any 3, 4, or 5-limb varieties you're missing.
  528.
  529. Best-case scenario, factoring in both mating sessions, is 9-10 new mutations.

  610. CV5.14: Wildlife Safari
  611. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  612.
  613. You read that right. Killing Plains is directly followed by Wildlife Safari. Venery Beach is omitted.
  614.
  615. In addition, the special stage isn't available this playthrough so no Rage meat can be found on your first time through.
  616. Unless you're playing the translation it's nearly impossible to be King of 100 Cubivores by the end of this stage without some degree of hackery.
  617. You get the "incomplete" ending, then restart in Paw Dunes, so it's not a terrible loss.
  618.
  619. * Remember that as soon as you collect your 100th Cubivore you are spirited away mid-stage to fight King Cubivore in your "best" form! Get something good here!!!
  620.
  621. You can probably pick off the colorless Beastructions before mating, but leave mutating until afterword. The Hitman Cubivore doesn't spawn until after you mate.
  622. Collect all the lovebits and lovebugs first (24 total). This is the last stage; not like you'll need them later.
  623.
  624. You'll be able to get the Pale, PaleDark, and Dark forms of all five colors. The only complicated one is Grey.
  625. When mating select either a Pale or Dark Greyodon. It's easier to get two of the forms instead of all three.
  626. If you're playing the English translation, your 100th mutation is added to EZ-Mutate, just like on GC. There's still hope if you didn't breed to a Dark Greyodon.
  627.
  628. Mutating in this stage is relatively braindead. For Blue & Yellow, eat the Pales, then the Darks.
  629.
  630. With the Reds, eat a PaleDark first, then based on the colors filter to what's needed for the Dark & Pale forms.
  631. At the very least, get two of the possible mutations.
  632.
  633. Purples are the same case. Eat the 5-Limb PaleDark Tutu first, then adjust accordingly.
  634.
  635. The Greys are the only complicated ones. There's a Portfolio with 2 Dark and another with 3. Target the one with 2 first.
  636. If you mated for Pale:
  637. You can bite at this many, many times and probably not get the Dark, or you can leap at it and consistently tear off D-P-P.
  638. Likewise, if you leap at the second Portfolio you'll consistently get P-D-D. Between them you'll mutate into a Portfolio.
  639. Poo out the low Pale, then grab three dark off the Scenturion.
  640. If you mated for Dark:
  641. The 3:3 Portfolio should give all Pale meat if bitten off normally. If so, you're good. If not, Diet Plan the other before picking off the Pale.
  642.
  643. The stage ends once you steal the Raw-Life from the Hitman Cubivore.
  644.
  645. Potentially, that's 15 new mutations.

  666.
  667. * You are automatically sent here as soon as you collect your 100th form. Irregardless the proto or translation, you'll get here *really soon*.
  668.
  669. Yes, that means unless you're willing to play the entire game through twice collecting basically nothing the best form you'll have is a Dark one.
  670.
  671. Unlike in GC, you will find a number of rejuvenators and snackgrass around. The snackgrass might regenerate? Don't eat it unnecessarily.
  672.
  673. The Blue Divabeast has that annoying roar ability the Conman had which causes damage.
  674. When the Red is wireframe it can't be hurt. It will run at you and push you--usually against a wall--before biting.
  675. The Yellow rolls at you; it's the easiest to handle if you're near a wall.
  676. Purple's long range lunge simply needs to be blocked.
  677. Their Rage colors are real, unlike most bosses, so you can get a mutation off them if you don't lose your limbs ;*)
  678.
  679. The King simply hits hard and jumps at lot until you get down to two limbs. Then it hits light rapidly and annoyingly.
  680. At one limb it takes on the abilities of all the previous bosses. Its roar damages, it can spin and make you dizzy, etc.
  681.
  682. Beat it and you get an ending + credits.
  683. Afterward, you can restart from Paw Dunes to collect the remaining 50 mutations.
  684.
  685. If you lose and select "continue" though then you'll appear at Venery Beach.

  689.
  690. Expect to be ambushed a lot.
  691.
  692. When you start, you're startled and surrounded by 1-limb beasts who eventually run away.
  693. Get used to it. You'll be continually ambushed by swarms of 1 and 2-limb beasts until you hit the door.
  694. On the plus side, there's a fair number of rejuvenators here for your rematch.
  695. The exit leads to Sacred Cubivore Clearing for a rematch.
  696.
  697. Grey's a wash, but you can get either Dark or RageDark of the other colors. Remember, Pale+Dark+Rage = Dark.
  698. Even if you aren't interested in taking a new form, you can stack your colormeat here to take the form of one of the Rage Divabeasts.
  699. If you're a real masochist, intentionally kill yourself four times just to collect the four 6-limb Rages ;*)
  700.
  701. Two other areas are assigned, but unfinished. There's no end poem, only placeholder ACKs.
  702. Until you beat the King or quit, these two stages loop around like this.

  720.
  721. How you play this stage has a lot to do with what happened back at Verdigrass Highlands.
  722.
  723. Prototype:
  724. It's a bit of a waste, but you're unable to collect most of the Rage & DarkRage 3-limb forms outside of this bonus stage, Snake in the Grassland.
  725. Arguably, you'll need to play the game through a second time just to acquire the 4-limbed forms from this bonus stage as well. Not so certain it's necessary.
  726.
  727. Grey is always the problem. Len, if you didn't get it already, can be gotten in Cat Trails. Favor getting the DarkRage before the Rage through selective eating.
  728. Outside of this bonus stage DarkRage Grey might not be possible. It is, thankfully, the highest breedable form when you have 140+ mutations and at least 100 lovebits.
  729.
  730. ***I'm not entirely certain how many forms are possible, but the entire 3-limb set can be completed here.
  731.
  732.
  733. English Translation:
  734. At this point the only 3-limbs you're missing are the Rage Purple and Rage Grey.
  735. Rage Grey is a pain, but both can be gotten on your second visit to Verdigrass Highlands.
  736.
  737. Mate into something you don't have. Most Pale and PaleDarks are available next stage; only a limited number are in this one.
  738. As a 4-limb, defeat the two Herbibeasts for their Raw-Claw pieces, then enter the bonus stage.

  763. You'll pick up Recliner & Ditto. Now head due west of the Oasis. The first Electricfan is there.
  764. The second Electrifan is near the Oasis.
  765.
  766. Yellow
  767. Turn almost due west, slightly south, for the first Knockknees.
  768. The second is two rows north and a smidge west. This nets Openknees.

  771. You only need one of the DarkRages, whichever is closer.
  772. The first DarkRage is just to the east of the first yellow, due west of the oasis.
  773. Look in northwest corner for the second, north of the second yellow.
  774. Close by, to the east is a Squat. The second is against the northeast corner wall.

  777. Turn south and to eat the two Piccolos along the way.
  778. Keep south, past the Rachet, until you hit the other two to get Keyboard.

  780. Grey
  781. Be sure to Diet Plan the 3 Rage Greys. You can try to get DarkRage now, but it's easier outside.
  782. The first is north of the Reds, against the east wall, halfway between the oasis and exit.
  783. The second is right next to the exit. The third is due west of the entrance, against the wall.
  784. If you can't get both, at least get two. You're guaranteed the DarkRage.
  785. Once you're out, enter the gate to the next area and pull a Rage off the Evicted to get Jen, then a Dark off its friends for Mansion.
  786.
  787. There's a slot token in a nook near the final boss as well, in case you want to try your luck.

  799.
  800. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  801. CV6.8: Ultimarsh
  802. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  803.
  804. Just like before, due to memory constraints not all cubivores are loaded at the stage of the stage.
  805. Walk around the stage, eating anything you don't intend to use for mutating. Eventually Dark Yellows, the remaining 6-limb DarkRages, etc. will load in.
  806.
  807. Pick up any remaining 4-limbs before mating.
  808. Chances are you're missing Pale and PaleDark Yellow, plus Pale and PaleDark Purple.
  809.
  810. All of the 5-limbed Rage and DarkRage are available in the special stage.
  811. With ~125 mutations you can breed up to a DarkRage Redaped, higher with lovebits. Pick something useful.
  812.
  813. Ah, but there's another gotcha here...
  814. The bonus stage is not Smorgasbord Clearing, it's Colorful Crossings!
  815. Absolutely mutate before heading in! You won't be able to eat everything otherwise!
  816.
  817. ******************************************************************************
  818. Colorful Crossings
  819.
  820. I'm going to contradict the normal walkthrough on this one.
  821. If you have a Grey EZ-Mute (or fast one, you need speed) come in already Yellow and preferably with some Rage in the low slots.
  822. The only seriously problematic color is Yellow, which you can't the Rage form for in the outside stage and isn't thrown at you in Killing Grounds.
  823. There are more Greys wandering around than any other color, so shouldn't be a problem collecting them to enter the Grey island.
  824.
  825. You definitely want the 5-limb Chen & Bowlegs by the end of this. Purple is easier here than later.
  826. You can get the remainder from Killing Grounds as well in case you run out of time.
  827.
  828. Ideally, 13 new. Your experience may vary.
  829. ***4-Limbed Pale Yellowbrate: Dolly
  830. ***4-Limbed PaleDark Yellowbrate: Choker
  831. ***5-Limbed DarkRage Yellowbrate: Barbell
  832. ***5-Limbed Rage Yellowbrate: Bowlegs
  833. ***5-Limbed DarkRage Redaped: Lasso
  834. ***5-Limbed Rage Redaped: Organ
  835. ***5-Limbed DarkRage Bluocytes: Baglady
  836. ***5-Limbed Rage Bluocytes: A.C.
  837. ***4-Limbed Pale Purpial: Pause
  838. ***4-Limbed PaleDark Purpial: Kimono
  839. ***5-Limbed Rage Purpial: Yoga
  840. ***5-Limbed DarkRage Greyodon: Evicted
  841. ***5-Limbed Rage Greyodon: Chen
  842.
  843. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  844. CV6.9: Paw Pasture
  845. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  846.
  847. If you didn't get Freeloader yet, pick off the Studio in the northwest to get it.
  848. You should have every 2-limb type. Finish up and head out.
  849.
  850. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  851. CV6.10: Verdigrass Highlands
  852. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  853.
  854. If you're playing the proto, the stage is literally identical the second time through.
  855.
  856. The English translation swaps a Puberty for a Slouch so you can get a cheap 3-limb Rage Purpial Squat.
  857. Len can't be bred in this version, so you're just going to have to chase the Greys in Cat Trails down.
  858. Remember, if this isn't your first time here the cutscene doesn't play, making the Freeloader very easy prey.
  859. There's a second Freeloader near the exit that also runs, plus a Mansion on the far end of the island.
  860.
  861. ~140 mutations, 2 new
  862. ***3-Limbed Dark Purpial: Squat
  863. ***3-Limbed Dark Greyodon: Len
  864.
  865. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  866. CV6.11: Killing Plains
  867. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  868.
  869. Not a lot to do. If you're missing a Rage or DarkRage in the 4-5 limb set pick it up here.
  870. Venery Beach is skipped, so onward to Wildlife Safari.
  871.
  872. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  873. CV6.13: Wildlife Safari
  874. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  875.
  876. Some DarkRages were added on the outside; a Yellow Squats, Red Chaps, Blue Mover, Purple Sweeper, and a colorful Grey Beastruction.
  877. Collect anything you may be missing. Mate. Complete as many sixes as you can out here, since there's no time limit.
  878. If all goes well, you should have 145 mutations at this point.
  879.
  880. Now enter the bonus stage--which is not Colorful Crossing, but Smorgasbord Clearing!
  881. If everything goes as planned you won't be returning ;*)
  882.
  883. ******************************************************************************
  884. Smorgasbord Clearing
  885.
  886. Virtually the whole color range of every color is here for the taking.
  887. Eat the Rages, take their colors, and...you're done!
  888.
  889. You'll get a fancy new icon on the file select menu, and all mutations become EZ-Mutates.
  890. It should roll back around to stage 1.1...though at least one user (me) had it bug and display stage 1.9. This is actually stage 18, the "bonus stage" Zoo.
  891.
  892. About Zoo:
  893. Start that game and you'll be born as a 1-limb Pig.
  894. There are Scentys about with raw-meats but you can only hold one at a time.
  895. The stage automatically ends after 10 minutes or so. The exit exists but it's recessed and intentionally inaccessible.
  896. You'll then "return" to stage 0, which is just a test field that catches invalid stage numbers.
  897.
  898.
  899. Zoo, by the way, has a description in the unused "Map Select" feature, which selects from six of the (mostly) bonus stages: Meatmaze, Budokan, Colorful Crossings, Snake in the Grasslands, Wildlife Safari, and Zoo.
  900. The stage select images correspond, but the text index for the stage descriptions is wrong. It should be two less, and they should be in a different order. They also shouldn't overwrite the stage names. Oh well.
  901. A score (A-F?) and randomized text feature for "rolling up to it" are the only other features assigned to it. Maybe time attack? They clearly thought better of this.
  902. This would have been available from a third option on the title screen, but selecting anything simply starts from one of the save file slots.
  903.
  904. This is separate from the incomplete stage select menu, whose tiles ranged from A to L (1 through 12). No code is assigned to that, only an unloaded image set resident in ROM.
  905.
  906. As far as other incomplete features, there would have been a details screen when you select your file, like GC. There's two sets of two images each for this. The first, has icons for the six raw meat and a display for wounds, and the second has the five you'd actually be able to collect in addition to some for teeth, stomach/gut (literally an intestinal tract), etc.
  907. Images also exist for a Beastiary-style guidebook. Placeholder icons to prompt pressing Z to switch to it are in the Start menu's spritesheet.
  908. There's also a series of different logos that would appear on-screen--anywhere on-screen, but the sort usualy found in a corner. They can fade in and out, be repositioned, and appear anytime "gameplay" occurs, like the title attract sequence.
  909. Two of these are loaded in memory, and only one is used if you manually activate the feature.
  910. The "Primal Mighty Mite Piggy" background has several gradient alternatives. There's also a "Saru Brunei" logo intended for a missing legal screen, following the missing N64 screen.
  911.
