  1. Underneath Chinatown - Ebon Dragon's Nest
  2.
  3. This cavernous subterranean space is old. Older than the warehouse above. More akin to a natural cave than a man made tunnel, it's then perhaps not that unusual that there's an aura of primordial power here. The temperature of this room drops several degrees from the one above, leaving the space perpetually cool and slightly damp. The Yin energies in here - cold, dark, overpowering - they run /strong/. Like a heavy pall draped over a tomb, the Yin touches /everything/ inside the space.
  4.
  5. In the center of the cavern? A circular pool, about ten feet in diameter, filled with a still and placid black liquid. The pool betrays no clues as to its depth.
  6.
  7. The space is sparsely furnished - A small altar. A pair of cots with pillows and blankets. A large wooden steamer trunk. A stainless steel medical table. And off to the side, a table and two benches carved of the same stone that makes up this cavern.
  8.
  9. Danny is in his ceremonial vestments, sitting in the lotus position at the lip of the inscrutable pool that serves as the central source of yin in the cavern. The dragon's nest was known to all shen, and all shen were welcome to come and go as they pleased. It might seem odd to some, but certainly not to those with the sight beyond the wall, where Mr. Lao remained coiled in darkness ready to keep the peace in this place.
  10.
  11. YinFung steps into the nest and approaches the lip of the pool to stand quietly next to Danny. Rather than interrupt the other's meditation, Yin Fung stands, patiently waiting and she listens to the water lap the edge of the pond.
  12.
  13. Danny arches an eyebrow underneath his mask, and brings his meditations to a close, then rises and stands to offer Yin Fung a greeting. A slight bow. "How may I assist you this evening?"
  14.
  15. YinFung offers a slight bow in return to Danny in return. "Good Evening, Maoshan. Last night, I did not get a chance to ask you if you knew where I might find a good swordsmith here in Prospect."
  16.
  17. Danny considers. "Hideaki is a skilled smith. But he usually has a backlog, since most people go to him with commissions. Still, he is the best in our community, and worth the wait."
  18.
  19. YinFung nods and says, "Where can I find Hideaki?"
  20.
  21. "He has a shop here in chinatown. I forget the name as I don't use weapons. But it's easily found, just ask around.OIr I'll let you know the next time he come over for tea. He is a dear friend, and I value his wisdom and thoughtfulness," replies Danny.
  22.
  23. Danny furrows his brow, then clarifies. "Tamahagane. Ask around, you'll find it and him."
  24.
  25. YinFung nods once more and says, "Mao Shan Long, I would very much like to meet your dear friend, Tamahagane Hideaki." Yin Fung seems to consider something for a moment. "I am also looking for a few capable...companions...is that the right word?"
  26.
  27. Danny blinks, once, twice, three times. Those strange silver eyes of his consider Yin Fung. "Companions for what?"
  28.
  29. YinFung sighs, "by your response, I think I used the wrong word." Yin Fung crosses her arms in front of herself.
  30.
  31. Danny offers a mild shrug, the tiny gesture magnified across the breadth of his shoulders. "Perhaps, perhaps not. Capable is a very subjective term. Depending on what you're looking for, I may or may not know of someone that could assist in whatever it is that you're looking to accomplish."
  32.
  33. YinFung uncrosses her arms and says, "those who possess certain wealth or rank do not tend to wander around by themselves all over the place all the time. Even though I an not incapable...it is the responsible thing for me to employ certain...individuals...to have around me. I just do not want them to necessarily look like guards and I really do not want them there all the time but my parents..."
  34.
  35. Danny nods. "Unfortunately, I don't know anyone looking for that sort of opportunity. You have little to worry about here in chinatown, but if you remain concerned, I can have my triad soldiers keep an eye on you. Beyond ou borders, things are much less ... certain."
  36.
  37. You say, β€œPart of why I am here in the States is to buy real estate as investments for my family back in China. I cannot do that if I remain only within Chinatown, Mao Shan Lung.”
  38.
  39. Danny nods, "Then you have quite the adventure ahead of you. Please do try to not bring troubles back with you from the world outside our borders, but if you feel yourself getting in over your head, I am happy to assist in resolving them. Earlier notice rather than later is, of course, always helpful."
  40.
  41. YinFung sighs and says, "I am not seeking to bring any trouble to Chinatown from the outside world. Plenty of chinese people do the same thing that I am doing, Mao Shan Lung."
  42.
  43. Danny nods. "You are not 'plenty of Chinese people'. And the western supernatural community here is somewhat ... crowded and clumsy. I'm sure you'll do fine, but should you run into trouble." A pause. "Give a holler, as they say. Sooner rather than later, as things around here escalate fairly quickly, from what I have seen."
  44.
  45. YinFung nods and says, "I will do that. Thank you."
  46.
  47. A small smile from Danny. "Thank you for the visit. And welcome again to our community. I look forward to seeing what you will accomplish. But if you will excuse me. I need to go and accompany Mr. Lao on his rounds."
  48.
  49. YinFung nods and says, "Of course. I will go out. It was good to speak with you again. Have a good evening, Mao Shan Lung." Yin Fung steps away and walks slowly towards the entrance to the nest.
