Raine and Dr.Saari and The Director

[10:29pm] Gwen: The car takes them away from the Bureau.  It's remarkably quiet.  "So," she begins in Finnish.  "What happened in Monaco?"
[10:29pm] Alivi: Raine smiles a bit, hearing Finnish is something that makes him feel better… he sighs, "I mean…I thought it would be like…what they said we were supposed to be helping… not barging in. It took me multiple times to see if I could gain reconnaissance… but… no one paid attention. I gained a visual. But they all barged in. There were all these people trapped there… we didn't even help them… we shouldve tried to get them out at first right? I heard this new man threaten many of them."
[10:30pm] Alivi: "They are just bystanders. No need for that. They get close to her and something is wrong. There is a will o wisp… there. I couldn't identify it. But Mike Shot it. The dealer turned out was the cause and Addison fainted. He was going to try to get away, so I used my ice to freeze him in place." Raine buries his face in his hands. "Shouldn't have…."
[10:31pm] Alivi: "Raj…i think is his name…tackled him, but the ice i created was strong to ensure he wouldn't escape…" He looks at Dr.Saari wondering if she knew what he was getting at.
[10:32pm] Gwen: There is silence, and then Dr. Saari reaches over and places a hand on Raine's shoulder, squeezing it gently.  "You did the right thing.  you made an effort to subdue the target...this isn't the first time someone on Team 2 has made rash choices...wait until you here about Spain..."
[10:34pm] Alivi: "He was in agony..."
[10:35pm] Alivi: Raine looks at her in shock, "Wait….this…is normal?"
[10:35pm] Gwen: Dr. Saari shrugs.  'It's not the first time something like this has happened.  You made the right choice, Raine."
[10:37pm] Alivi: "This isn't what I signed up for though… we need to be…we can't be doing these things..."
[10:12pm] Gwen: The older Finnish woman sighs loudly. "Raine, are you sure that they had other options?"  She leans forward.  "Hughs...turn around, we're going back to the Bureau."  "Yes, ma'am."
[10:13pm] Alivi: Raine looks over at her, "What do you mean… and did you forget something?"
[10:13pm] Gwen: "I mean, do you think it could have been handled in a different way?  And no, we're going to see the Director."
[10:14pm] Alivi: "Yes…more specifically not threatening to kill a man already crippled… there were just many things …it bordered on cruel…" All of a sudden the second part of the sentence hits Raine. "The Director?!"
[10:15pm] Gwen: "Yes, the Director."
[10:16pm] Alivi: Raine just looks at Dr.Saari unsure of what to say.
[10:17pm] Gwen: "Problem, Raine?"
[10:17pm] Alivi: "I just….no…not at all…" He sighs. "I guess….I just was hoping the BSA would be different..."
[10:19pm] Gwen: "The BSA is different, Team 2 obviously has forgotten the purpose of this organization."
[10:20pm] Alivi: Raine nods a bit, deep in thought as he considers what has happened throughout the night.
[10:20pm] Alivi: "I guess so..."
[10:22pm] Gwen: The driver makes a rather sudden u-turn.  "Unless you don't want to speak with the Director."
[10:23pm] Alivi: Raine tenses remembering Addison's driving. He relaxes a bit. "No….I….I think I should."
[10:27pm] Gwen: She nods.  "I agree."  She reaches for the rather fancy centre console of the limo, pressing a button, a screen flashing to live.  It looks like some sort of video call.  After a number of dial tones, the Director's image appeares.  "Ah, Kitty," he says, Dr. Saari scowling a little.  "I thought you had gone home for the evening."  She leans back.  "I did, then I met Agent Virtanen, and we had an interesting talk.  Don't head home just yet,
[10:27pm] Gwen:  "Boss, we need to speak."  The Director glances from the doctor to Raine, and then shrugs.  "Alright."
[10:38pm] Alivi: Raine looks at Dr. Saari wondering if he needs to start talking now or if they were waiting to get back to the Buerau
[10:39pm] Gwen: The Director cuts the call and the Finnish doctor looks to Raine.  "He'll fix this issue."
[10:40pm] Alivi: "He will?" Raine seems doubtful.
[10:40pm] Gwen: She nods.  "He takes Bureau policy seriously."
[10:42pm] Alivi: Raine looks at his ring and nods. "Alright..."
[10:42pm] Gwen: "Raine, have a little more faith in this organization."
[10:43pm] Alivi: "It is hard to have faith when the people I was supposed to trust showed the same kindness and mercy the people of my town showed me."
[10:45pm] Gwen: "I am sure that no everyone on the team was like that, and that is not normal agent behaviour."
[10:47pm] Alivi: Raine sighs and rubs his eyes. "I know…Addison…isn't like that…Satyana hasnt really done much other than interrogate me in the sense of nothing out of the weird…in her way…. I think…, Zoe…bordered…but it was mostly Mike and that new man..."
[10:49pm] Gwen: "Something to keep in mind with Agent Wonderpup is that he often gets blinded by personal stuff....it's not excuse, I am just saying."
[10:50pm] Alivi: Raine doesn't say anything, just the thought of how Mike acted comes to mind. Raine frowns a bit.
[10:51pm] Gwen: Dr. Saari sighs.  "Please just trust that the Director is on your side in the matter."
[10:51pm] Alivi: "I will… I trust you as well…"
[10:51pm] Alivi: He looks over and gives her a small smile.
[10:53pm] Gwen: The smiles back as they pull into the Bureau Underground.  "Have you met the Director before?"
[10:54pm] Alivi: "A little…. it was not a long meeting…he was briefing us on the mission… I mostly dealt with someone else when i first came to the Bureau."
[10:54pm] Gwen: "Just remember on thing."  The car stops and the door on her side opens.  "He's bizarre."
[10:55pm] Alivi: "Marko mentioned it as well..."
[10:55pm] Gwen: She smiles and steps out of the car.  "Nothing like a reminder."
[10:56pm] Alivi: He smiles and also steps out.
[10:58pm] Gwen: She leads up to the highest floor of the Bureau, the elevator doors open, Agent Zharkov looming in the entrance.  "Is this Agent Virtanen," she says in her usual cold tone.  Raine picks up on her Ukrainian accent.
[10:59pm] Alivi: "I am…" Raine says looking at Agent Zharkov.
[10:59pm] Gwen: "The Director will see you now."  The imposing woman turns and heads towards a door.  Dr. Saari motions for Raine to follow.
[11:00pm] Gwen: **follow her.
[11:00pm] Alivi: Raine looks at Dr.Saari wondering if she is coming with him but follows Agent Zharkov.
[11:02pm] Gwen: Dr. Saari doesn't follow, clearly waiting in the lift.  Agent Zharkov opens a set of double door into a huge office.  The Director is seated at his desk staring rather intently at a blue ball.
[11:04pm] Alivi: Raine frowns when he notices Dr.Saari stayed behind. However a look of confusion appears as Raine discovers the director and the blue ball.
[11:05pm] Gwen: The Director glances up.  "Ah, Raine!  I can call you, Raine right?"  He tosses the ball of his shoulder, a loud crash following the toss.
[11:06pm] Alivi: "Y-yes sir…" Raine says visibly startled by the loud crash.
[11:07pm] Gwen: What's up?"
[11:09pm] Alivi: "Er… well… it had to do with the mission… I do not think I am a good match for Team 2. I think we differ on things." Raine appears to have chosen his words very carefully.
[11:10pm] Gwen: "I matched you with Team 2 personally.  What happened?"
[11:13pm] Alivi: "As you know we just came back from a mission. It was my first one tonight… but their actions I do not agree with in any sense. I was told that the BSA protects and we work to contain supernatural things. We don't destroy or kill or attack senselessly."
[11:13pm] Alivi: "But if no one had told me that, I probably would've never known."
[11:14pm] Gwen: "Details, please.  What did you see?"
[11:17pm] Alivi: "First they rushed into the scene, barely bothering with the authorities who had already held things down, after I requested a second time to gain a visual first, Mi- I…mean Agent Weyland finally gave me permission however he along with 2 other agents tried to force their way through."
[11:19pm] Gwen: The Director rubs his chin for a moment.  "Again," he mumbles.
[11:20pm] Alivi: "There were many bystanders, affected by the Wil'o wisps. We at first thought it was Agent Addison. I never felt like they were considered and our newest member threatened them even though they were acting under control of something else. We discovered it was the Dealer who was the root of it. In order to ensure he didn't get away, I froze his legs in place. However the newest member tackled him, the ice I made was strong since I didn't want him breaking away…as a result…his ankles may have been permanently damaged." Raine says the last part quietly. It is obvious he still feels guilty about his role in that.
[11:22pm] Alivi: "This man…he was in agony. And Agent Weyland and Agent Zoe and the newest member interrogated him, threatened him, promising to do all sorts of things that were not necessary. He couldn't go anywhere. He was in pain. They didn't even get him immediate attention or anything to relieve his pain. They just slung him over their shoulder and told him he was pathetic for being in pain."
[10:52am] Gwen: The Director thumps his hands on his desk, a large orange tabby perking his head up in surprise.  "Good lord man, trying to sleep here," this was the cat talking.  The Director just glowers at the cat before looking back to Raine.  "This is the second damn time..."
[10:53am] Alivi: Raine seems semi surprised at the talking cat, however he looks back over at the Director. "So I have heard sir." Raine tries to keep his composure.
[10:55am] Gwen: "I don't understand this team sometimes.  These are my best agents, and they can't seem to keep the policies of this organization in mind...eerything from relationships to this mess..."  He sighs and leans back in his chair, taking his rimless glasses off.
[10:57am] Alivi: "I just….my mentor Marko told me the BSA was meant to help protect and contain… I just saw none of that on the mission tonight, Sir. While I understand this was of a sensitive nature to the team, I do not feel it excuses the actions that took place tonight."
[10:59am] Gwen: The Director smiles fondly.  "Oh, Agent Hautala," he seems to get lost in his thoughts for a moment.  "He was right, and one of my best agents.  A team leader within one year of joining up."  That statement should set off alarm bells...the Director doesn't look old enough to have known Marko that well.
[11:00am] Alivi: Raine seems rather surprised, "Wait…how…" Raine loses his composure at this.
[11:01am] Gwen: The Director glances to him.  "Oh...it's...I aged well."
[11:01am] Alivi: "I can see that Sir…" Raine smiles a bit.
[11:02am] Gwen: "Anyway, you are right...we're here to protect and contain, not harm."  He sighs.  "I'll speak with the team as a whole.  The team performance review is coming up shortly anyway."
[11:03am] Alivi: Raine frowns, "I understand, Sir. And…I assume you want me to stay with Team 2 for the time being?"
[11:04am] Gwen: "I do.  There is a reasonI put you on team 2.  You are going to be a very good agent, Agent Virtanen...you're going to be good for the team."
[11:05am] Alivi: Raine nods, "Thank you, Sir." He tries to not show his emotions, he feels very touched and thankful but he also feels like he needs to be very formal around the director. However someone the director's age could very well easily see through Raine and see what the young agent is feeling.
[11:08am] Gwen: The Director nods.  "Well, thank you for your report, Agent Virtanen."
[11:10am] Alivi: "Thank you, Sir for seeing me." He nods once and turns to leave.
[11:13am] Gwen: The Director nods, and glances up as he leaves.  "Oh, and Agent Virtanen?"
[11:13am] Alivi: Raine stops and turns back around, " Yes Sir?"
[11:15am] Gwen: ""If you ever doubt your purpose here, just remember that Marko would not have sent you here, had he not believed in your abilities fully."
[11:18am] Alivi: Raine seems a bit stunned, "…Thank you…" He says quietly. Before exiting the Director's office.
