If you think you haven't laid eyes on Modrellen, well, you're probably mistaken. The witch of Wind Blown can adopt many forms, both great and small, and does so with some regularity in order to wander the world unnoticed. Her preferred form is that of a wolf, a soft grey in colour, and fast as anything. Subsequently, to "feel a grey wind" in the local vernacular is to sense that powerful magic is afoot.

In addition to her morphological mutability, Modrellen is able to perfectly communicate with most non-dragon creatures, making her the clan's first choice when it comes to solving problems between dragons and their familiars, should any ever arise. The witch's dwelling is often surrounded by milling creatures of all kinds, waiting for Modrellen's touch to grow well again, or tame, or else to find a new dragon companion.

It's not only beasts and birds that Modrellen concerns herself with, of course. She also acts as spiritual counselor and adviser for the dragons of Wind Blown, offering aid in any way she is able. Herbs, spells, divination, and enchantments all fall under her jurisdiction, making her a valuable asset to her neighbours. In return, Modrellen receives gifts of homemade goods, food, and jewelry from grateful clients. Having no need for finery herself, Modrellen typically anonymously leaves the shinier gifts for hatchlings to stumble upon and collect with joy.
