- 5) Criminals are born, not made.
- In my opinion, your inborn traits are not able to make you a criminal. A biological theory was developed late in the 19th century by the Italian criminologist Cesare Lombroso, who asserted that crimes were committed by persons who are born with certain recognizable inborn physical traits. Lombroso's theory was disproved early in the 20th century by the British criminologist Charles Goring. Goring's comparative study of jailed criminals and law-abiding persons established that so-called criminal types, with innate dispositions to crime, do not exist. Recent scientific studies have tended to confirm Goring's findings. So we may conclude, that according to the research there is no link between inborn traits and criminal inclinations. Moreover, there are no traits that automatically make you an offender.
- 8) The growth of the Internet leads to new types of crimes.
- In my opinion, there are no new types. The Internet may be consideres as a mechanism. In this way, all the cybercrimes are just another shape of traditional crimes. For example, fraud is widespread in the Internet. Blah Blah Blah.
- 12) The most effective way to reduce the crime rate is to deal with such social issues as poverty and income inequality.
- In my opinion, it should be the most effective way. Many outstanding criminologists of the 19th century associated crime mainly with the influence of poverty. They pointed out that persons who are unable to make a living for themselves and their families through normal legal channels are frequently driven to theft, burglary, prostitution, and other offences. The rate of crime especially tends to rise in times of widespread unemployment. Present-day criminologists take a broader and deeper view; they place the blame for most crimes on the whole range of environmental conditions associated with poverty. The living conditions of the poor, particularly of those in slums, are characterized by overcrowding, lack of privacy, inadequate play space and recreational facilities, and poor sanitation. Such conditions provoke feelings of deprivation and hopelessness and lead to crime as a means of escape. The feeling is encouraged by the example set by those who have escaped to what appears to be the better way of life made possible by crime. Moreover, fighting with the poverty is the only way to deal with this problem which government is able to proceed.
- 13) The only way to prevent crimes is to give out harsh penalties as a deterrent.
- In my opinion, this is not the best way. Of course, it may partly help to solve the problem. But the solution should be more complex, imply more social work with poverty and income inequality and other aspects. Blah blah blah.

- 3) Death penalty should be allowed as a punishment for the most violent crimes.
- - The judge cannot be absolutely able in the defendant's guilt.
- 4) Repeat offenders can't be reformed
- - Each case is individual. But work with criminals require social work. It means that if solve some psychiatric and social problems of the offender it's possible to reform him.
- 12) Environment rather than genetic traits makes people lead a life of crime.

- 13) Any person is capable of committing a crime in a difficult situation
- - I'm sure that strong people exist whose principles always with them.
