  1. Hello Mr. LcLachlin,
  2.
  3.
  4. The purpose of this email is to see if there is any possibility I can qualify for the Honours Spec. Biochemistry module or a major in Biochemistry. As of right now I am on academic probation due to having a lacklustre first year. With my abysmal situation you're probably wondering why I'm even writing this email. To provide background information, during first year I was not in the right mental space to be successful, I was depressed which caused me to not put an honest effort into my school work. Instead of seeking help I kept continuing which bled into summer school and the 2017 Fall semester which resulted in me not being successful. Towards the end of the 2017 Fall semester I started to seek help and used my winter break to reflect on whether or not university was really for me. Ultimately I came to the conclusion that I did want to continue with university and in order to be successful I began to seek help from my family and friends. One of my goals is to enter the Honours Spec. Biochemistry module, initially I wanted to wait until I had completed midterms to prove that I had improved my situation but I figured it was best to write this as early as I could.

  8. During the Fall 2017 semester I met with my academic counsellor who told me that I would be considered if I completed all my first and second year courses and I was only missing one second second year course by the end of the year but things have changed as I failed to meet the minimum requirement for Chem 1301A and Physics 1028. Additionally I am willing to take as many courses during the summer to complete first year courses and have as many second courses completed by the end of second year.

  14. The first year courses I satisfy are Bio 1001A/1002B, and Chem 1302B.

  16. I repeated Chem 1301A three times and ended up with a highest mark of 57, and can no longer retake/repeat the course, as I had to request special permission to take it a third time with the condition it would be my final attempt. I ended Physics 1028 with a 57 after taking it a second time. I am currently retaking Physics 1029 and attempting to finish Calc 1000 this semester. In addition I am taking Bio 2290 and Cell Bio 2382.
