  1. An excerpt from The Holy Doctrines of Tyris, Abridged.
  2.
  3. In the beginning, there was The God,
  4. And The God madeth all manifest that existeth.
  5. And The God madeth the waters to flow upon the earth,
  6. And The Herb of the field, and The Beast to eat of it, and to Be Eaten of in turn.
  7. And The God madeth Humanity, and granted unto it sovereignty over all the world, that they may grow numerous and offer pleasing worship unto The God.
  8.
  9. But Humanity was prideful, and turned they their heads from Her,
  10. And The God was made Wroth.
  11. And She did give Authority to Maou, The Demon Lord to visit Trials Manifold upon Humanity,
  12. That Humanity may be humbled and turn their worship again to The God.
  13. And Humanity was swept under by the Monsters of Maou,
  14. And with wailing and gnashing of teeth did Humanity did weep in sore repentance unto The God.
  15.
  16. And The God did grant Power to the Elect amongst the Faithful,
  17. That they may become Heroes and serve as Living Banners of Her Might.
  18. And Maou was made Wroth, and did spur Monsterkind to greater atrocity.
  19. It was in that time that the Greatest of the Heroes did lead Righteous and Glorious campaign upon the Antient Worlde,
  20. Laying Low all Demons and Monsters that did bear allegiance to Maou.
  21. Brought he this Holy Crusade, yea, e’en unto the gates of The Hells.
  22.
  23. And in The Hells did he meet the Succubus Lilith, who was smitten by the Hero,
  24. Yea, e’en unto betrayal of Her Sovereign Maou.
  25. And with Mighty Arts did the Hero and the Succubus Lay the Demon Lord low.
  26. But Enchanted by Lilith, the Hero went unto her, yea, and did Know her.
  27. And their forbidden love displeased The God, who stripped the Hero of all Authority, and damned him to the sweet suffering of the Hells.
  28. And Lo, did the Hero become Incubus Primus, First among the Corrupted.
  29. And the Gates of the Hells were closed, and Humanity did raise tumultuous praise to The God.
  30. But The God, still wroth that the Hero had deserted Her, turned Her face from them, and smiled upon them not.
  31. And magic was thus gone from the world.
  32.
  33. And Humanity, ever cunning, turned its gaze in turn to the pursuit of the Sciences,
  34. That Illumination may be granted yet unto them by their own makings,
  35. Great and Mighty were the works of that Antient Worlde
  36. And Humanity did give Glory unto itself, forgetting the name of The God
  37. Millenia passed, and Humanity was fruitful, yea, and did spread to all corners of the Antient Worlde, e’en unto the depths of the sea and to the heights of the air.
  38. And in the Hells, by acclamation, yea, did Lilith take upon the mantle of Maou, and in turn become Demon Lord.
  39. And when the Wrath of The God did call upon her to visit Trials upon Humanity, did She in Her Authority, make Demon and Monster in Her own Image, and opened She the Gates of The Hells.
  40.
  41. “Heartsick am I of the bloodshed of My forebears, and weary grow I of the petulance of The God” did Lilith-now-Maou speak unto her Progeny. “Yea, e’en as the Fire which Burns within Me is of Lust, and not the love of Base Carnage, shalt Thou, My Children, seek instead to take Humanity unto Thee, and know them, that e’en as My Consort and I are of One Flesh, so too shalt My Mamono and Human be joined, that The God be brought Low.”
  42. And the Chorus of The Heavens did Lament her Heresy.
  43. And Mamono did spread across the Antient Worlde, and took unto them Humans as to their liking, Dragons to the Powerful, Holstaur to the Gentle, Tanuki to the Guileful, Ogre to the Strong of Back and Brawn, Harpy to the Free-spirited, and thus amongst the multitudes.
  44. But imperfect was Her creation, and the Union of Man and Monster bred only women of monstrous birth, yea, and sparsely, and their Power did number many amongst the Corrupted, Men to Incubus, and Women to those Forms known as Fallen Maiden.
  45. And Humanity feared for its continuance, and did make war in their fashion upon Mamono, and Mighty Order formed amongst those who still offered Praise to The God, and the God was Pleased with their Warmaking, and did give blessing unto them.
  46. And for Man to Lay with Mamono as with Woman was Abomination.
  47. But Mighty were the Powers of Mamono, and great was the temptation of Man to Know them, and thus did both Humanity and Mamono wrestle in that hollow Age of Stalemate.
  48.
  49. In that Age did Maou and Her Consort work Carnal Arts most powerful, that Her error may be undone, and Unity be made manifest upon the Antient Worlde.
  50. And The God did Mark Her Heroes as Prophet, that Her Word be not Forgotten as Humanity struggled.
  51. But in Time did Maou complete Her Rite, and released She a Spell Most Potent through the Gates of the Hells.
  52. And Mamono did finally birth Sons, and began to cleave to their own. So great was Her Art, that The God was indeed brought Low, and the Smoke of Her Burning gave bitter counterpart to the Laments of The Heavens’ Chorus.
  53. But the Laws of the Worlde, written in the deepest heart of the earth, would not be so easily undone.
  54. The Sons of Mamono became as Bulls, violent and poor of mind. And great numbers of pairings bore abominations, Mamono bearing the parts of neither Man nor Woman and absent of Power and the Fires of their Mother-Queen’s Lust.
  55. And the Bulls were sparse of birth, and did contest amongst themselves for Dominion amongst Mamono after their own kine, and did reforge the Lusts of Mamono to spur e’en greater War against Humanity.
  56. And Maou did grieve at Her Failure.
  57.
  58. Humanity, absent of The God, and once again fearing for their continuance, did turn again to the Sciences, seeking as they had in Ages Past to Master power to make manifest their own Salvation.
  59. And in Arts most Secret and Mighty was born the Logos of Resonance.
  60. And the Word was With Humanity.
  61. And the Word was Of Humanity.
  62. And Neither God nor Demon could stem Its Might.
  63. And renewed with vigour, did Humanity embark on the Greatest War
  64.
  65. Centuries did the Slaughter ravage the Antient Worlde
  66. And but that those days were shortened, would no flesh have been spared.
  67. But as the End of All Things approached, did Holy Tyris, Eternal and Glorious God of The Sun, give cry of Lament so great that the Chorus of The Heavens was stunned to Silence.
  68. And the Silence spread across the Antient Worlde, and Human and Mamono did cast their eyes to The Heavens in Awe.
  69. And Maou did humble Herself, prostrating before the Throne of The Heavens as Tyris took unto Himself the Mantle of The God.
  70. And in tongues of Divine Light did Tyris proclaim the PAX DEUS.
  71. And Maou, tears bitter upon Her cheeks, did give Consent to Its Terms.
  72.
  73. “Yea,” Spake The God “I am the Dawn of the New Creation. Let all who have ear give Heed to Mine Commandments.”
  74. Humanity will Humble itself before Me. Thou shalt take no other God for Thy Worship, lest my blessing be removed from thee. I am The God.
  75. From this Day shalt I establish Mine Church Supreme amongst the Houses of the World. The Church is Thy Mother, and thou shalt have no Name lest She bestow it upon thee. I am The God.
  76. Humanity shalt cast aside the trappings of failed empire, cease thy wars and conflicts, and submit to the Rites and Traditions which I shall give thee. I am The God.
  77.
  78. “Yea,” Spake the Demon Lord “I am the Twilight of the Antient Worlde. Let all who have ear give Heed to Mine Commandments.”
  79. Mamono Shalt submit to My Will. No longer shalt thy Will be the whole of the Law. I am Maou.
  80. From this day shalt the Greatest amongst My Daughters convene Council, and shall all Tribes, Peoples and Beings under Mine authority submit to its decrees in their sovereignty. I am Maou.
  81. Mamono shalt cease thy conflicts, and shalt keep Checked the ravages of thy Bulls. Thou shalt not Submit to their Warlust again, lest I cast thee from My Gaze. I am Maou.
  82.
  83. This is the Word of The God
  84. This is the Word of Maou
  85. Eternal and Sacrosanct be kept the Pax Deus.
