So, this whole clan thing... prepare for a bit of a brain dump, this is all off the cuff and not really prepared, kind of appropriate really.

In my view at least, it's kind of crazy that we have gone this far without having made any significant decisions or plans and not a single official meeting has occured. The whole thing seems pretty scattershot and disorganised so far. It's pretty clear that at least Stony wants to get on and take charge of things, I think the rest of you do too but we really struggle to actually go anywhere. I'd love to be part of this clan and it's running but I know my schedule rarely lines up with any of you so I really don't see any point in being a server admin. I don't want to be in a position that's honorific either, I either want to be a part of decisions or simply one of the rank and file. The way we are 'setup' right now doesn't work for me.

In general I honestly think 6 server admins is a bit of a mental number anyway for a server with less than 50 members, especially when it's tremendously difficult to get all 6 in one place at one time. Though it probably won't be up to me going forward anyway I do recommend you nominate 1 or maybe 2 of you to actually take things forward as the leaders of the clan. Democracy is a great idea but you still need someone at the top that can control/lead the decision making process. Having 6 disparate parties take that role doesn't work.

Maybe I'm thinking too hard about all of this and Christ knows my mental states been all over the place the last month or two, but this clan has gone nowhere since its inception. As it stands it's a glorified private chat for a bunch of us unhappy with our previous clan with no real direction or purpose. Ouch that's harsh when I read it back. It's no reflection on how I feel about any of you guys, it's just how I honestly see the server right now it needs direction and it needs it now before people get bored of it and leave.

As for me, I don't think I can commit to being a server admin if I am not going to be able to be around for key discussions and decisions, which with my time zone I really don't see any way around, and with the GMT guy out of the way that should make it easier for you guys to group up I'd hope so that this clan can actually get going. I'm happy to be a part of Dead Weights but a member role is probably all I can do for now.
