  1. Attar's left hand juts out, going to seize Vanity by the throat.
  2.
  3. His speed was abhuman. To be expected, due to his nature: and if she avoids it, his fingers dig in and began to restrict her ability to breathe. He assumes she will fight back... but if not, he isn't stopping.
  4.
  5. (Attar)
  6. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  7.
  8. [21:39] Vanity was only a child. Speed? Strength? There was little. The seizing of their neck caught them off guard as the petting'd abrutply stop before they'd silently lower the cat in their arms to the ground, letting go of it once it was just a few feet short of the snow below before they'd begin to squeeze a few words out.
  9.
  10. "Eating and choking are two different things. You aren't a cat so you shouldn't play with your food."
  11.
  12. After saying those words they'd let out dry laughter.
  13. (Vanity)
  14. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  15. [21:40] This man had changed. A much more ferocious entity took the place of Proteus, one she was unfamiliar of. However exciting the fight was, Sarasha was unable to keep up with the man now. She was not only flooded with water, but she was pummeled up close then struck down and sliced twice over her chest.
  16.
  17. Ideals clashed, and she lost. The possible belief of a lie only made her weaker. To not trust her people, that was her mistake. And in this endeavor, Proteus found the strength to make his ideals known. Herself to a knee and in gruesome pain from the injury.
  18.
  19. "This is not your right to Claim! We will yet be finished!"
  20.
  21. By the blood freezing over her chest to stop the bleeding, she did not give up. Yet yonder the giant wave of water and behind Proteus was Sajid in all his rage.
  22.
  23. Her ice mace dug into the mountain and placed herself firm. Slowing herself down from a decent off the face of the cliff. Yet she was pushed to the edge and could only freeze thewater in her decent, clinging to the edge with just enough space to watch Sajid's onslaught, yet herself seemingly gone.
  24. (Sarasha Fenrir)
  25. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  26. "Good point."
  27.
  28. Attar's jaw unhinges. His body half-morphs into something black and warped, a half-spider; eight legs jutting from the man's back. Vanity's commentary seems to strike a chord; and he agrees, in reality. Powerful arms attempt to keep the girl restrained, stuffing her into his open mouth.
  29.
  30. He was not in a particularly talkative mood, it seemed. The black cat was momentarily disregarded, attentions now focused upon the one who he viewed as particularly defiant. Sharp fangs seek to dig into the flesh and suction out any and all blood in her body.
  31.
  32. All as intended.
  33.
  34. (Attar)
  35. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  36.
  37. [21:43] Miran Tsuchai says, "It's another soft coup, effectively"
  38. [21:43] Elias says, "Such is the way o' Theria."
  39. [21:43] Cameo Orn Octavius says, "Iiiiiiiii need to know who threw her off, why.. No, that pretty much might just be it."
  40. [21:44] Elias says, "Proteus.. I heard bits 'bout her accusin' him of some nonsense."
  41. [21:44] Lukas mer Joyau asks, "Proteus, don't you see him and Glass going at it?"
  42. [21:44] The cat lands on the ground, paws padding their way to Attar, only to back up mere feet at the gigantic spider that had taken his place. She seated herself in the snow and observed.
  43. (Black Cat)
  44. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  45.
  46. [21:44] Dun whispers something.
  47. [21:44] Miran Tsuchai asks, "This is- also unrelated, to the attempted cliff toss, I think...?"
  48. [21:45] Tonashi Botcher whispers something.
  49. [21:45] Tonashi Botcher whispers something.
  50. [21:45] Tonashi Botcher whispers something.
  51. [21:45] Elias whispers something.
  52. [21:45] Rain Multhunder whispers something.
  53. [21:45] There was something that shook her attention for a moment as she glanced behind her. There was a moment as she watched a demon's hand grip a child's neck.
  54.
  55. Slowly she'd blink at the display, her gaze shifting from the girl to the demon. There was a brief moment of indecision as they pondered the situation.
  56.
  57. No they didn't know the child, didn't know the demon either. Reaching into her pocket she pulled out a elixir, the sparkling potion inside shinning softly. Popping the cork off for a moment, she turned the elixir up and down it in a single drink.
  58.
  59. Her mana circuitry was flusehd as she burst into action, pulling a fist back she'd swing it straight across the space between herself and the demon. "Back off the kid bastard!" It wasn't but a moment before she'd follow up.
  60. (Yvette Eldergrove)
  61. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  62.
  63. [21:46] Lukas mer Joyau whispers something.
  64. [21:47] Miran's head turns towards the cliff-edge, attention snapped off from the fight. For a moment, a vine wires its way out of the cliffstone, but it quickly shrivels as it's clear she's being taken care of.
  65. (Miran Tsuchai)
  66. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  67.
  68. [21:47] Chris walks up to the edge with the two others, looking down as she hopes to see Sarasha down in the water, struggling to stay afloat. But alas, a different picture was painted for her. She looks at the two helping Sarasha on the edge, Blake and Vatrius with a blank face. "Looks like your back Sarasha."
  69.
  70. She doesn't seem amused nor sad about this. Just a blank face.
  71. (Chrisanthi Perridi)
  72. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  73.
  74. [21:47] Tonashi Botcher whispers something.
  75. [21:47] Tonashi Botcher whispers something.

  77. [21:49] Vatrius whispers something.
  78. [21:49] * You have been awarded 1 Roleplay Points! *
  79. [21:49] Lukas mer Joyau whispers something.
  80. [21:49] Rain Multhunder whispers something.
  81. [21:50] Elias whispers something.
  82. [21:50] Chrisanthi Perridi whispers something.
  83. [21:50] Tonashi Botcher whispers something.
  84. [21:50] Chrisanthi Perridi whispers something.
  85. [21:50] Chrisanthi Perridi whispers something.
  86. [21:50] Vatrius whispers something.
  87. [21:50] Lukas mer Joyau whispers something.
  88. [21:50] Vatrius whispers something.
  89. [21:50] Chrisanthi Perridi whispers something.
  90. [21:50] Rain glanced back at Chris and gave them a nod. Message received.
  91. (Rain Multhunder)
  92. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  93.
  94. [21:50] Elias whispers something.
  95. [21:50] Vanity was mad, not suicidal.... Though perhaps the two had a bit of a connection.
  96.
  97. When his mouth opened up to begin mummifying the small teen they'd snap the fingers of a hand inside their mouth, a small flame igniting before quickly consuming the air to blow up with a bang in his mouth.
  98.
  99. "Hey, I never said I wouldn't fight back."
  100. (Vanity)
  101. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  102.
  103. [21:51] Lukas mer Joyau whispers something.
  104. [21:51] Chrisanthi Perridi whispers something.
  105. [21:51] Vatrius whispers something.
  106. [21:51] Vatrius whispers something.
  107. [21:51] Elias whispers something.
  108. [21:51] Rain Multhunder whispers something.
  109. [21:51] Vatrius whispers something.
  110. [21:51] Lukas mer Joyau whispers something.
  111. [21:51] Gaelan Fenrir whispers something.
  112. [21:51] Miran Tsuchai whispers something.
  113. [21:51] Vatrius whispers something.
  114. [21:52] The two danced, and it was a glorious dance that was going to make everything less than wonderful. The more that the two dance, one with fist, one with glass and GUNS, the more that Proteus was suffering from the very beginning.
  115.
  116. The first fight? It didn't involve him using his staff - for some reason, his insanity made him forget. However, that was when the other fights started to come across that he dropped the useless pistols to grip against the staff and let it amplify him.
  117.
  118. And as it amplified him? The fight was just becoming worse, and worse. Blood was meeting the sand and the sand was making the rocks only get worse. Everything was just making it... deviously destructive.
  119.
  120. But in the end, it was him who was the victor, and he leaned in while putting a finger to their chest. A stick of glass going into their body as it soon exploded into their lung, causing it to expand and deflate as they fell.
  121.
  122. And then? A smooch on the cheek as thewaves of sand threw them off to the side.
  123.
  124. Sajid wasn't there, but Glass was.
  125.
  126. "OHHH LUKAS~~ MY PRECIOUS BOYYY~"
  127.
  128. The glass talons would start to come across aiming to welcome them into the frey. "Let's have some fun PAINTING!"
  129. (Sajid)
  130. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  131.
  132. [21:52] Elias whispers something.
  133. [21:54] Tonashi Botcher whispers something.
  134. [21:54]
  135. Attar does not seem phased by the consecutive assaults.
  136.
  137. The fire is consumed, though it singes his tongue. The two are regarded with beady and suspicious eyes; and there's a throb of powerful occult energy. It pulses from him like the radiation of a black star, burning the eyes and turning the stomachs of any who would linger too long in adjacency.
  138.
  139. The Demon's first priority is battling the girl who had first provoked his irritation. Yvette would be second. With deft movements, the monster flits in and out; striking, only to break ranks and return to pick out a vulnerability. As usual, the Demon found the sensations of battle pleasing.
  140.
  141. Did his enemies feel the same?
  142.
  143. (Attar)
  144. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  145.
  146. [21:55] Rain Multhunder whispers something.
  147. [21:55] Tonashi Botcher whispers something.
  148. [21:55] Vatrius whispers something.
  149. [21:55] Rain Multhunder whispers something.
  150. [21:57] Rain would've been observing from the side this entire time, only planning on intervening if there was a threat of death to someone.
  151. (Rain Multhunder)
  152. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  153.
  154. [22:03]
  155. The spider's limbs block any strike that might prove a threat.
  156.
  157. His chitin is thick and akin to steel. Every strike is turned into a glancing blow, force retarded by it's durability. Every reprisal is slow and deliberate, with force withheld. The tips of his limbs and teeth tear through the child's tender flesh, taking his time gobbling them up.
  158.
  159. But they were not the only threat.
  160.
  161. Attar swivels towards the next attacker. This time, energy begins to ooze from him in significant quantities. His power has still been artificially restrained, but there is a degree of seriousness to him. It would be unwise to underestimate an adult Human so thoroughly...
  162.
  163. He's seen firsthand the dangers of misplaced conceit. His great legs sweep down and over Yvette, seeking to entrap the woman in the spider's embrace. Occult energy burns hot enough to turn flesh black and rotten by extended proximity.
  164.
  165. He was not just trying to hurt her.
  166.
  167. He was trying to cook her alive.
  168.
  169. (Attar)
  170. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  171.
  172. [22:04]
  173. {LOAD GAME}
  174.
  175. [22:09] ** Yvette Eldergrove has inflicted an injury upon Attar. ("Temporary Injury", "Temporary Injury", "Temporary", "Duration: Medium (4 days)") **
  176. [22:09] Rain takes his leave from the area, it seems he didn't need to get involved.
  177. (Rain Multhunder)
  178. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  179.
  180. [22:19]
  181. The fight concludes with a clash of magic. Black fire meets the wind, and it sizzles under the contact until there's an explosion. Shortly thereafter, the monster lunges forward and comes to slam one of it's monstrously oversized spider limbs swinging out.
  182.
  183. It meets Yvette dead in the ribs, sending her hurtling into the stone. Quickly, the would-be Demon Prince pivots to the winded girl. Attar wipes the blood from his lips, and all he's left with is a smile. The demon situates itself over Vanity's broken body.
  184.
  185. One leg presses to her chest and threatens to run her through.
  186. "Would you like to make a trade?"
  187.
  188. The question is directed to none other than Yvette. There's a condescending tone to his voice, as if he finds it terribly funny. "I'll let this little one go for disregarding my directions in exchange for you. Always need more servants."
  189.
  190.
  191. (Attar)
  192. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  193.
  194. [22:33] Her mind upon seeing the giant spider really just yelled 'No! No! No!' really, it was a gigantic monstrosity and she didn't want anything to do with it. However, she'd a sister not to older than this kid.
  195.
  196. So, her soul screamed back 'Yes! Yes! Yes!' The occultic infused winds that wrapped about her form picked up viciously. Lashing out at everything around them as they did launched into the demon.
  197.
  198. As the fight went on she'd attempt to reach out and siphon that occultic heat. Trying to leech it from the demon and use it to bolster her own power. At first she thought she'd exceeded. A rush of wrath coursing through her veins as she burst into an occultic outlash.
  199.
  200. However, as the fists flew she felt one of those many legs strike out to her ribs. Sending her hurtling backwards, the crack of her back against a stone was all she heard for a moment before she fell onto the ground.
  201.
  202. There was no hesitation as she rolled with the fall, sliding back into a defensive stance. A moment taken to spit out a mess of blood upon the ground.
  203.
  204. Sienna hues blazed with power as they glared upon the demon. Another one who'd won only to mock them? It was so close she could have tasted the victory.
  205.
  206. "You've got to be fucking joking?" The foul words left her lips as quickly as one would expect of a Therian. She shifted slightly, as if looking for a chance to leap out and strike once more.
  207.
  208. She was thinking now, she'd lost to this demon but it was just another one among the horde. "I'm no one's slave Demon." She ground her teeth as she pondered the child's life hanging in the balance. "...However, who're you and.. How long would it be? What would you want?" It wasn't like her to entertain a thought of something she didn't like.
  209.
  210. Though, she'd seen Sibylle tell of her slaying of that Knight. Knew that the Dark Lord valued deception and intelligence above all else and knew even more a potential opportunity when she saw one.
  211. (Yvette Eldergrove)
  212. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  213.
  214. [22:42]
  215. The monster's right leg presses it's weight down upon the child's abdomen till his lungs start to be compressed. Bone and muscle sounds like it'll crack if Attar leans in just another little bit. Otherwise, the monster looks to Yvette;
  216.
  217. "I am Attar von Canaan, emissary of the Spider-King."
  218.
  219. And the little body was flicked with a spare claw, striking Vanity across the face. He seems more amused than demanding; this was more a test of morals than any personal need or desire. So Attar turns to the left again, and his wicked claws click together.
  220.
  221. "Oooh. How spirited."
  222.
  223. "And until I get bored, of course. You seem like you'll dry out quick. Such a snarling and angry little thing; barking at passerby from your cage, wanting me to know just how angry you are."
  224.
  225. "But you aren't doing much of anything with it, are you?" His head cocks to the side. Attar leaves the wounded girl in the cobbles and sand, instead opting to approach Yvette with a slow deliberation. The Demon's body shifts and slowly transforms back into a more humanoid appearance.
  226.
  227. All was back to normal.
  228.
  229. "Perhaps I'll even give you a few pointers."
  230.
  231. "But I'm afraid it doesn't really matter what you think you are."
  232.
  233. (Attar)
  234. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  235.
  236. [22:55] Yvette's eye twitched as they hear the strike across the youth's face. That was pushing it for the angry young woman. A flush of winds curled about them once more as they watched the demon.
  237.
  238. Really the more the demon spoke the more she wanted to ignore the kid's plight and rush him down for another attempt at his life. A step forward was even taken as she thought about it. Then the sight of Lauren rather than this stranger under the demon's foot slowed her down.
  239.
  240. Occultism pulsed through her mana-circuitry with every breath but she'd enough sense not to let her anger rule her... At-least with the child's life in the balance. A breath she didn't even know she'd held was released as the demon stepped off the child, returning to that mockery of humanity they wore.
  241.
  242. There was so many things he said that made her want to lash out. Everything that dripped from his tongue felt like vitriol to the sound magi's ears.
  243.
  244. "Dry out?! I'm an endless deluge! I've battled your kind and my own, besting more than I can count. I would say that's DOING something, isn't it!" As she yelled the air reverberated fully, well maybe she didn't have the control over he temper she thought she did.
  245.
  246. "What else would YOU do besides test your strength?" As she spoke she'd slowly stand tall. Her arms coming to cross over her chest. The worn leather creaking softly. It was clear she'd not outright agreed to the demons terms but with the child still breathing.
  247. (Yvette Eldergrove)
  248. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  249.
  250. [22:58] {Item} You drop Occult Magic.
  251. [22:58] {Item} You picked up Occult Magic. Dropped by Yvette Eldergrove. .
  252. [23:02]
  253. "I'm the one who knocked down the sandcastle,"
  254. Attar cryptically remarks, a smile upon his face. She doesn't even need to approach if she desires to strike him. The Demon stands tall before her, wounds now unblemished from their battle. Ambiently, life is sucked away from whatever comes too close to him: bringing back whatever wind had been lost.
  255.
  256. "And perhaps, before everything else, I can teach you how to listen."
  257.
  258. His index finger and thumb snap together. There's a flicker of black fire - occult magic - that radiates incredible levels of power. It would explain just how hard it was to compete with the fir and pain he brought to level. It was meant to display just what he could do.
  259.
  260. "Setting this city on it's current path. Bringing the Demons into Theria. Helping to kill the Black Knight," he quietly hums, closing that last gap till he was within arm's reach. His eyes levelled off with hers, studying the minute movements her irises made - and how the woman's chest rises and falls with each breath.
  261.
  262. "I am the nightmare made risen. Do you want to see what the inside of your own mind is like, dear servant to be? Would you like me to trap the little girl inside her own mind? I think it might be far more interesting..."
  263.
  264. "Than listening to you clench your fists and whine."
  265.
  266. Attar reached out and went to cup the Occultist by the chin like an impudent child. "So chin up. Smile. Agree. Maybe you'll end up learning something useful."
  267.
  268. (Attar)
  269. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  270.
  271. [23:15] Shock, that's what this felt like. She'd lost fights in the past of course, been humiliated before, but never spoken down to so fully. It was something that would cause her blood to boil normally.
  272.
  273. Yet, at the tug of corruption radiating from the demon. Sapping at her vitality as the demon remained close to her. It was akin to what her half-trained mentor had tried showing her years ago. Except effortless, a by-product of his existence.
  274.
  275. The pull of her chin upwards brought a look of surprise as she blinked. Looking at the Atrellyian closely. Her fists slowly unclenched as she thought about the implications of a mental prison. It wouldn't be pleasant for her much less the child.
  276.
  277. Her lips curled, albeit with a twitchiness that bespoke struggle. "F-fine, now... Can I check on the girl?"
  278. (Yvette Eldergrove)
  279. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  280.
  281. [23:21]
  282. "Do it. Report to me when you've finished."
  283.
  284. That was that.
  285.
  286. Attar had other things to be handling for the time being.
  287.
  288. (Attar)
  289. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  290.
  291. [23:22] You stole Vanity's Empty.
  292. [23:25] The moment his back was turned the woman walked up to girl. Taking a knee to shake them awake, or try to. She wasn't really good with injuries. Yet, she could try couldn't she?
  293.
  294. "Hey, kid are you alright?"
  295.
  296. As she spoke she'd check the young teen's breathing. Making sure she was still breathing, before her gaze shifted to the girls chest, feeling the ribs to see if any of them were broken. So far so good, onto the face...
  297.
  298. That was a nasty cut, reaching into her pockets she pulled out a hankerchief and placed it against the injury. SLowing the bloodflow.
  299.
  300. "The monster gone, come on kiddo wake up."
  301. (Yvette Eldergrove)
  302. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  303.
  304. [23:35] It had been long enough. They were relatively silent throughout, quietly waiting and watching while the demon conversed with the woman whom he had fought after takin them down with ease.
  305.
  306. On one hand, it was a good save. The attention on her had all but remained as it had swapped to them; ensuring their survival.
  307.
  308. But on the other....
  309.
  310. "Damn, there goes the adrenaline rush..."
  311. (Vanity)
  312. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  313.
  314. [23:36] Yvette Eldergrove says, "..."
  315. [23:36] Vanity exclaims, "Your heart pumps you full when you're about to die you know? It's entertaining!"
  316. [23:36] Yvette Eldergrove says, "I know just... Kid."
  317. [23:37] Yvette Eldergrove says, "You realize I just fought that demon... And your reaction is to complain about the loss of an adrenaline rush."
  318. [23:37] Vanity says, "Yes."
