Surprise is definitely a factor that should be employed. A start would be gently massaging them. Start with one until she's developed enough of a blush to cover most of her face, then move on to the second. After a minute or more of massaging the other ear, begin gently stroking both for two minutes. Afterwards, immediately stop.
