[*] Visibly inspect the magazine to ensure that there are rounds loaded in the magazine and that they are loaded in correctly.

[*] Do not smack the bottom of magazine while inserting it as it could cause a round to dislodge and cause a stoppage.

[*] Eject the magazine from the firearm.
[*] Roll the firearm so that the top of the firearm is facing inwards.
[*] Pull back on the slide and let the round eject out, watch the round as it is ejected.
[*] Release the slide and pull it back again. Visually look inside the chamber and ensure a round isn't loaded inside before releasing the slide.

[*] Perform an Unload procedure.
[*] Push up on the slide lock and pull back the slide, make sure it locks into place at the rear.
[*] Visually look inside the chamber and ensure the chamber is empty.

[*] Perform a Load procedure.
[*] Turn the safety of the firearm off.
[*] Pull back on the slide of the firearm and watch a round as it is loaded into the chamber.
[*] Release the slide and keep your finger out of the trigger guard until you are ready to fire.

[*] Perform a Make Safe procedure.
[*] Hold onto the firearm by the barrel and have the grip facing away from you. Make sure the barrel is always facing into the ground.
[*] Await the commanding officer to inspect the firearm. This will require them taking the firearm from you, make sure that you are ready to hand it off to them.
[*] The commanding officer will hand the firearm back to you. After they do, perform a load procedure.
[*] Hold onto the barrel of the firearm and have the grip facing away from you. Make sure the barrel is always facing into the ground.
[*] Await the commanding officer to inspect the firearm.
