- Combat:
- When engaged in combat, players roll a d20 and add their relevant skill or attribute to determine success.
- Players can use spells or abilities to gain bonuses to their rolls.
- If an opponent is wounded or otherwise at a disadvantage, players can choose to perform an iaijutsu strike for an automatic hit and potentially an instant kill.
- Resolution:
- Players roll a d20 add their relevant skill or attribute to determine outcome.
- GM sets a Difficulty Class (DC) and if roll + skill/attribute >= DC player succeed otherwise they fail.
- If players succeed they achieve what they intended if they fail they might achieve it but with some complications or not achieve it at all.
- Note that this is a simple example and would need to be fleshed out more to make a full functioning game. Also it would be better if you familiarize yourself with the Lore of the L5R.
