NY Skype call

Covet: Kelsey was sitting on the bed with her laptop waiting for the skype call from her boys to pop up. She was tired from her long day, but was pushing herself to stay awake, including a cup of coffee which she didn't feel like it was working.
Alexithymiaa: -Brad had gotten situated in his room with Connor all washed up and in his pajamas for the night before setting the laptop down and initiating the video call to Kelsey.-
Covet: Kelsey answered the call with the video function then smiled, "Hey, there's my boys. I miss you. How are you holding up?" She asked, like she had the last few nights.
Alexithymiaa: "Everythings great here. Just staying busy and keeping to our usual routine. And we had chicken for dinner. With potatoes. That a made." He was clearly proud of himself.-
Covet: Connor Grinned shaking his head, "Yeah, they were really good Momma, I wish we could send some to you for you to Try." // Kelsey smiled, "Well you seem like you're getting along just fine with out me. I had myself a salad with some turkey tonight. Did you have a book in mind to be read for tonight?" She asked Connor.
Alexithymiaa: "See, I can make a good dinner that doesn't involve take out." He stuck out his chin. "I was thinking about maybe starting a subscription to Scribtd.com so we could have new books to read every night."-
CovetCovet : "Dad did good, We've only had pizza two nights." Connor said holding up his fingers. "I don't want to read a book tonight, I want to talk." // Kelsey laughed, then shook her head. "I actually think that is a wonderful idea." She looked at Connor, "Oh, okay well we can talk if that's what you want to do."
Alexithymiaa: "What do you want to talk to Momma about, buddy?" He asked him, stroking his hand over the top of his hair.-
Covet: "Dad and I are doing a cooking video tomorrow. We're making chocolate chip cookies." Connor said. "But we have to find a sugar free recipe." //"Oh, well I'm excited to see it. I bet you guys are going to do great." Kelsey said "We can't talk for too late though because you need to get to bed here soon."
Alexithymiaa: "There are a lot of sugar free recipes we found online and Holly is going to help to make sure we do everything right. They're going to come out awesome." Brad said reassuringly as he'd been tryign to overcompensate for Kelsey not being there recently. "He's all ready for bed already. We made sure to get washed up before we called."-
Covet: "You'll have to make them for me again when I get home again." Kelsey said, "Good good."// Connor nodded, "Dad's been a really good Dad, Momma. How much longer are you going to be away?"
Alexithymiaa: "Hey, I'm a really good dad all the time, not just lately." He acted faux offended , giving a pout.-
Covet: "I know Dad, but you said Momma was worried we couldn't live without her. I'm just telling her you are good." Connor said // Kelsey pursed her lips and laughed as she threw him under the bus. " Ohhh... Busted." She looked at Connor, "Well I gave to go to my workshop classes and talk to a doctor while I'm here, but I'll be home sooner than you think kiddo."
Alexithymiaa: "By the time Momma comes back, she's going to be like the bionic woman." He said proudly. "She's making herself better."-
Covet: "The doctor is making her into a robot?" Connor asked looking concerned. // Kelsey shook her head, "No I'm not being made into a robot. I'm just learning new ways to be a better mom for you and Dad." She explained simply.
Alexithymiaa: "It's like all the self help we see on tv." He said, clueing her into just how much tv they've been watching since they got back.-
Covet: "Oh that's stuff is boring." Connor said. "It always comes on when the cartoons are over in the morning." He said grumbling. "I'd rather play math games on my tablet." // Kelsey listened to them, and couldn't help but smile at Connor. "Wow, I'm not sure how to take him choosing math over tv. Proud, or concerned."
Alexithymiaa: "Well that's just because the tablet makes it into a fun game. When you get older, the fun game in math is how to get through life while avoiding it. Still a game, but more necessary." Brad, stop. Don't teach him that.-
Covet: "But Mr. Thomas sais that we use math all the time. Maybe someone should make math fun for grown ups." Connor said, if only kid. if only.// Kelsey spoke up, "Bradley, we can't move forward in life avoiding things we don't like. They make us stronger."
Alexithymiaa: "Mr. Thomas is just trying to make you think math is important so you study and do well. It's not true. And that's true for most things, but I've successfully avoided math for years and I think I'm a much stronger person for it."-
Covet: "Dad, do you look at a clock to tell time?" Connor asked him. // Kelsey was going to interject, but waited as Connor started in. Letting him talk.
Alexithymiaa: "Not as often as you might think, but I know where you're going with this. And my phone gives me a digital time."-
Covet: "It's still the same thing Dad. Cause you use time when you work. Momma told me." Connor said nodding. // Kelsey nodded along, "He's right, you use it when you're working on your videos all the time, you just know it well enough you don't realize it's math."
Alexithymiaa: "But I have people who worry about timing for me. And computers that automatically factor it into the videos. It's not the same as like... algebra or something. Or subtraction." He added for Connor's benefit since he wouldnt know what algebra was.-
Covet: "Okay Dad." Connor said patting him, clearly something he'd learned from Kelsey. // Kelsey smiled, "Okay kiddo, I think it's time for you to get into bed. I want some Dad time. But I love you, kiddo."
Alexithymiaa: (HAH he condescendingly patted him. im dead)
Alexithymiaa: -Brad turned to Connor, giving him a rub on the back. "Go brush your teeth after that juice and I'll be in to tuck you in, in a few minutes."-
Covet: "Okay Dad. Goodnight Momma, Sweet dreams, I love you too." He said as he made his way out of the the screen. // Kelsey smiled then gave a sigh, "I've got an appointment with a therapis that CJ recomended for me tomorrow. I should hear back about the blood work next week sometime."
Alexithymiaa: -He waited until Connor had exited the room before speaking. "I'm just glad everything else came backk normal. It's like a weight lifted off my chest. I'm sure the bloodwork will show up good too. You've really moving in such a positive direction. I'm proud of you."-
Covet: "Same here, I'm glad it's helping make you feel better too." Kelsey smiled softly, "Thank you, it means a lot, I know I was kind of a disappointment there for a little while, but Connor and you both are worth all of this, especially if it is for the best."
Alexithymiaa: "Of course it's for the best." He said, not denying her disappointment comment even though he probably should have for her benefit. "We love you and we care about you. We just want you to be the best you can be and it seems like that's where you're headed."-
Covet: Kelsey pursed her lips and nodded her head. "Yeah, I am. I'm really tired and I need to get to sleep, It's later for me here, but I love you guys and I'll talk to you tomorrow. Go ahead and set up that book app, we can try it out tomorrow night." She told him.
Alexithymiaa: "Alright I'll get Evan on it. Have a good night, Kels." He said her, sending her a wave before ending the skype call.-
