[01:39 AM] Iroquois-Pliskin: Dare me.
[01:40 AM] RoseQuartz: I dare you to... recite a love poem to someone!
[01:40 AM] RoseQuartz: Humans have thousands of those, right?
[01:40 AM] Tori Marie Nygma: Wow, that's a really cute dare!
[01:40 AM] RoseQuartz grins!!!
[01:41 AM] Iroquois-Pliskin: Oh. Uh... right. Okay. Gimme a sec to think...

[02:21 AM] Iroquois-Pliskin takes a breath, setting down his drink, and then... turns to Tori. No one said it had to be a ROMANTIC love poem! Familial love is still a love! Rose didn't specify what kind of love so there! And he starts to recite something, slow and careful, picking each and every one of his words carefully, having apparently thought this up on the spot, voice low and gruff and as gentle as he can make it. And the entire time, his brow is furrowed, and he fiddles his hands together- no ring to play with right now, he left that safely with his clothes so he wouldn't lose it swimming. But he fiddles with where it should be nonetheless.

[02:25 AM] Tori Marie Nygma listens carefully to every word, deeply touched by all of them. Did he really think that up on the spot? For her? For her, because as the family they chose, he cares about her...

[02:28 AM] Jousuke Higashikata: Ah!  Is that a kind of singing?
[02:28 AM] Tori Marie Nygma: No! I... I really love it--! I'm crying because I'm /touched/!

[02:29 AM] Iroquois-Pliskin: ... Oh.
[02:29 AM] Tori Marie Nygma nods. "Thank you..."
[02:29 AM] RoseQuartz: It was a poem!
[02:30 AM] RoseQuartz: It's like a song, but you just say it, not singing.
[02:30 AM] Jousuke Higashikata: Ah!  ...  I see.
[02:30 AM] Iroquois-Pliskin's cheeks tint a bit, and he clears his throat, nodding. "Right... Ah, doesn't really feel right, saying you're welcome. I don't think you should be thanking me for stating how I feel about you."
[02:30 AM] Jousuke Higashikata feels like he should know that, honestly.
[02:30 AM] Tori Marie Nygma: I can thank you for putting it in beautiful words, can't I?
[02:31 AM] Iroquois-Pliskin: Er- well. Okay, yeah, i guess. You're welcome. I'll try to remember to write it down for you later, okay?
[02:33 AM] Tori Marie Nygma: All right! Thanks.
[02:33 AM] Iroquois-Pliskin reaches for his shirt, and tugs it on, despite still being kinda soggy and thus making his shirt damp. But see the thing is, he doesn't feel right hugging Tori while shirtless. So now, he has a shirt! And he moves over to curl his arms around his adoptive daughter, and hold her tight for a bit. She looks like she needs it.
[02:34 AM] Tori Marie Nygma hugs him back tightly! Dad hugs are always good.
[02:35 AM] Jousuke Higashikata oh man... that's so heartwarming... there's actual tears in his eyes.
[02:35 AM] Jeb Parmalee has to keep himself from crying as well. There's a big smile on his face, though.
[02:36 AM] Iroquois-Pliskin gives Tori a squeeze, before finally letting go. "Heh. First time I've written and recited a poem at the same time on the spot before. Not sure if I care for it. Anyways..."
[02:36 AM] RoseQuartz is not crying but she does look absolutely enchanted, and hugs Josuke, nestling her chin on his shoulder as she watches them snuggle. How sweet!
