  1. Jump #350: Geneforge
  2. >Nine of Swords (Cruelty): Participation in a shameful or regrettable act.
  3. >Age: 16
  4. >Location: Sucia Island
  5. >Identity: Shaper (-100)
  6. >Drawbacks: (+700) At The Beginning, Through To The End
  7. Regrettable acts: getting involved in these idiots' civil war. I'll be spending all my time trying to let EVERYONE know that they're wrong and figure out a way to bring it to a satisfying conclusion.
  8. >Shaping Focus (Free)
  9. I'm here for the shaping. Damned right I'd be focused on it.
  10. >Enhanced Essence Reserves (1500)
  11. Hopefully I can, in time, figure out how to use other sources of power to do shaping.
  12. >Innate Genetic Understanding (1200, Shaper)
  13. Being able to understand the genetics of what I'm working on is absolutely crucial. It shouldn't be done lightly.
  14. >ReShaping (600)
  15. It would be a bit silly to be shaping things if I can't do it to already-existing things, wouldn't it now? Though at least it means I don't NEED something as complex as a geneforge, if I have the time and energy to do it right.
  16. >Crystal Working (0)
  17. This actually works surprisingly well with the materia I've been creating and using... oh, the implications of that.
  18.
  19. Shaping. Applied magic to work stable biomancy on an unprecedented scale, and if done right, can breed true.
  20.
  21. The Shapers are typical wizards (that is, fucking morons) but unfortunately are better than the alternate so I side with them and proceed to spend the next twenty years trying to beat sense into their heads.
  22.
  23. If you create something, you are responsible for it. If you create something sapient, you are responsible for everything it does. You can't just cluck your tongue when the dragons rebel, when the servant races decide they want freedom. Intelligence inherently comes with the desire for freedom.
  24.
  25. If you want to create a servant race, you are responsible for their entire future as a race. If they're capable of breeding, you are responsible for what their great-grandchildren do, because you made it possible for them to HAVE great-grandchildren.
  26.
  27. Even with jumper level shenanigans, it took me the full twenty years to introduce the slightest amount of common sense to these people. The only way I ended up winning was genetically neutering all of the created races.
  28.
  29. Rather distressing, not going to lie.
