Switching between dances is fairly quick but there seems to be a sort of break in your rhythm when you swap between the Dance of Wind and the Dance of Rain, or visa versa, just a split second where you’re off-balance and vulnerable, before you can recover. The moment doesn’t exist when you enter the Dance of Wind and Rain, you flow smoothly into the more advanced, perfect forms, but it does exist when you leave that dance, reverting back to the less stamina-intensive, more restrictive variants.

  3. Something to consider. Swapping between the lesser dances would be best done during a break in the flow of combat, and a sufficiently swift opponent could probably trap you in the Dance of Wind and Rain, because you’d be terrified of that split second vulnerability that comes when you leave it.
