  1. This is not a fool-proof method, there is always a risk and thus if your PSN account is important to you then only use it on OFW. But this method does clear all the pushlists and thus Sony can't see what you are actually running on your PS3.
  2.
  3. Step 1) Disable Internet access temporarily.
  4.
  5. Step 2) Install OpenPS3FTP on your PS3 and launch it. MultiMan's built-in FTP server does not work for this, you need OpenPS3FTP or better!
  6.
  7. Step 3) Download an FTP client (I prefer WinSCP) and login to your PS3 with username 'root' and password 'openbox'
  8.
  9. Step 4) Navigate to /dev_hdd0/vsh/pushlist/ and delete game.dat and patch.dat there.
  10.
  11. Step 5) On your PC create EMPTY files with names game.dat and patch.dat and copy those empty files to /dev_hdd0/vsh/pushlist/
  12.
  13. Step 6) Open file properties for both of the files and remove write access, only leave read access on them!
  14.
  15. Step 7) Navigate to /dev_hdd0/home/ and you should see atleast '00000001', possibly more if you have more user accounts on your PS3. Go to all the directories and then to etc-folder. (For example /dev_hdd0/home/00000001/etc/) and delete 'boot_history.dat' . Do this for all of your PS3 user accounts.
  16.
  17. Step 8) On your PC create again an EMPTY file with name 'boot_history.dat' and upload it to the aforementioned locations, again for all your user accounts. And change file properties to read-only, take write access off!
  18.
  19. Step 9) Re-check that you did every step correctly.
  20.
  21. Step 10) Follow steps on one of the tutorials on these forums as to how to enable PSN and hide your console ID. I won't repeat those tutorials here.
  22.
  23. Step 11) Go online and enjoy, your PS3 shouldn't anymore be able to push details of what games and applications you have been running on your PS3.
  24.
  25. --- POSSIBLE PROBLEMS ---
  26.
  27. Q) I can't change file permissions!
  28. A) Install newer OpenPS3FTP, old versions don't work.
  29.
  30. Q) Every time I run MultiMan my pushlists become read/write again!
  31. A) MultiMan accesses pushlists by default, modify the ini file.
  32.
  33. Q) I have a raging hard-on because this is so cool!
  34. A) Take a cold shower.
  35.
  36. --- IMPORTANT ---
  37.
  38. Use your brains, do NOT attract Sony's attention by treating other players badly, calling them names or shouting racistic things. Those are a sure-fire way of getting attention and ban. And do NOT play games online that haven't been released yet, that is another sure-fire way of drawing attention from Sony.
