Bio: Alwine is a veteran of the Hero King Arya's first army, long and proud in her service. Though her origins were quite humble, hailing from a modest farming village, she served valiantly with axe and shield in the quest to slay the great beast himself. She has a reputation as a bit of a glory hound, and will gladly regale anyone willing to listen with. . . "enhanced" tales of both her own deeds in combat and those of the Hero-King, not to mention the erstwhile companions she has fought alongside through the years.

Her loyalty did not flag even when the nation he had worked to build fragmented. She led her own contingent of troops into battle during the bitter and bloody war even when it came to facing soldiers she had once considered her compatriots. In the dwindling days of the war, she led a desperate charge into Kraem's forces in an attempt to break the lines and gain a foothold that she believed could turn the tide. This nearly proved to be her undoing; she quickly found herself deeper into enemy forces than expected, and the fierce resistance rebuffed her. The results of the battle would put her out of service for years; she was one of the last to flee the battlefield, and suffered grievous wounds for her trouble, including the loss of her left eye.

Never one to lie down and bemoan her fate, she sought a new talent to make herself useful despite her injuries. Alwine spent years studying and frustrating monks and scholars alike in a quest to master healing magic, though her progress was slow at times - she never left the king's army and continued to contribute where she could, which sometimes meant leaving the books and staves behind. Though age, injury, and years spent off the battlefield may have slowed her, they have not stopped her, and she is ready to set forth to defend her king once again.
