  1. [20:14] {NARRATION} Noel.
  2.
  3. Given a single glance a gentle smile would given towards such a man with divinity flowing through his veins. One single hand reaching upwards to press against this spire shard embedded deep within the body of this ethereal figure.
  4.
  5. "... My creator was one who sought perfection in the spiritual art. Much like the undead fueled by spire shards, I am the same. Even as he has passed on, this shard still empowers me until the day it's ripped and severed from my soul."
  6.
  7. His voice filled with sadness and anger as though that thought continued to ring in his mind. Until the end of time he would be free to roam upon this island, forever bound by that same man which had brought so many spirits back a millennia ago.
  8.
  9. "Help me? I.... I've longed so long for one simple thing, one simple act in life which has never been extended to me since my rebirth. Kindness, companionship. I've never known what it's been like to be loved, to have friends."
  10.
  11. Soon a sudden pulse of power would begin to draw upwards from around this spirit. One step forwards followed only by a spark of flames conjured beneath his ethereal figure.
  12.
  13. "I've tried and tried, however with every death each of those spirits come out a sobbing mess. Broken beyond repair, however you all have resolve unlike any other... Despite my actions you never hated me, you wanted only to help me."
  14.
  15. Arms would soon spread, with a crooked grin coming quickly to follow.
  16.
  17. "You can help me by becoming spirits, live upon this island with me forever in eternal bliss... Does that not sound like the best offer any man, any god can offer? That's why I brought you all here, to offer eternal peace with me."
  18.
  19. Those darkened bags, those crimson eyes only adding to the new crazed and desperate look in the gaze of this spirit.
  20.
  21. Practically pleading for this future, one where he needed not to be alone.
  22. [20:14] Thera Elisheva whispers: Okay.
  23. [20:14] Thera Elisheva whispers: I'm going to seal it.
  24. [20:15] Elayna says, "."
  25. [20:27] "...I pity you." Thera states, placing the blood filled flower into a vial, then into a leather satchel for safe keeping.
  26.
  27. "A spire spirit. It's...a rather impressive feat, but..." Thera shakes her head, side to side. "Exorcists are supposed to help spirits pass on, and join their star. To help them return to the natural cycle, and reach Avalon."
  28.
  29. She'd seen it, the spirits pain, what their summoner had enacted. She couldn't forget those screams.
  30.
  31. She couldn't ignore that pain.
  32.
  33. "What you're offering isn't eternal peace. Living on Eternia forever would be an absolute nightmare. I'm going to offer you something."
  34.
  35. Within this spectral form she rises, testing the waters as the spirit would feel..
  36.
  37. A tug.
  38.
  39. It's weak, easily ignored, but...
  40.
  41. "I'll give you a friend. Two, in fact, and I'll rid you of that pain."
  42.
  43. Whirring from her lower back, the sign that Shai's release is incoming.
  44.
  45. "We'll put an end to your suffering."
  46.
  47.
  48. (Thera Elisheva)
  49. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  50.
  51. [20:37] {NARRATION} "You all... Don't understand a thing."
  52.
  53. Spirits all around would begin to collect and manifest around the body of this young and tormented soul. With each and every lingering step forwards, with blades of divinity severing any connection he held to the limitless potential of this spire shard.
  54.
  55. He would not falter.
  56.
  57. "Why must you fight? You could live in bliss, free from the struggles of the human world... I have seen what's happened upon Agartha, I've witnessed it all from a distance."
  58.
  59. Once more flames would begin to conjure, snapping to life as the body of this spirit stood even taller than before.
  60.
  61. "You will join. All of you will join."
  62.
  63. His statement held firm, though even now his physical appearance seemed to flicker both in and out of existence itself.
  64. [20:42] Calael Elisheva says, "N--noe--"
  65. [20:42] Calael coughs.
  66. (Calael Elisheva)
  67. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  68.
  69. [20:43] Noel Elisheva says, "--"
  70. [20:43] Noel Elisheva says, "Calael--"
  71. [21:01] Sink or swim.
  72.
  73. The thought of sealing this thing away within herself dies the moment they engage the spirit. Tossed around like ragdolls by gravity, scorched by the righteous fires of an angered spirit, and assaulted with the forces of the arcane, she finds herself growing desperate.
  74.
  75. Unsure of how to put this spirit to rest.
  76.
  77. Worried glances are shot to Noel, Elayna, and Cal, fighting against the instinctive urge to protect them.
  78.
  79. How could she...?
  80.
  81. ...the ring.
  82.
  83. "Elayna, protect me. Cal, Noel, weaken it. Spit on it. Beat it. Hurl a star at it, I don't care."
  84.
  85. Both hands raised, she syphons mana from all of the spirits she'd contracted prior. Elayna, and Shai included. A massive orb of spiritual mana forms above the woman's head, attempting to use this technique in a similarly to how she cleansed Ethan's tainted spirit.
  86.
  87. Trapping it in a massive ball of immense magical energies.
  88.
  89. While only a minute or so pass, a minutes worth of fighting could seem like an eternity.
  90.
  91. "Scatter!"
  92.
  93. She screams, hurling the spirit bomb in the direction of the Wandering Spirit. The orb pressing into the spectral figure, consuming it whole. Once consumed, it could feel it's essence tugged upon, moving, becoming bound to the ring that once floated alongside it.
  94.
  95. The orb shrinks, and dissipating, leaving behind....
  96.
  97.
  98. (Thera Elisheva)
  99. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  100.
  101. [21:15] {NARRATION} "Just! Die!"
  102.
  103. His soul was in endless agony as from all directions this spirit was struck by everything this group had to offer. Blades which passed through his ethereal form threatening to crack and damage this shard with each and every blow.
  104.
  105. The power of The Arcane being flung without care or hesitation, striking each and knocking them back as though they were nothing more than a nuisance upon this path of destruction.
  106.
  107. Elayna being struck the worst of them all, quickly dispelled with each and every blow as her spiritual form began to flicker. Disrupted by the flow of The Arcane as she sustained what seemed multiple, if only minor injuries in comparison to the others. [1st and 2nd Injury, 4 Day Temp. Not allowed to heal it.)
  108.
  109. Calael being one more lucky than most the first time around. The blows knocking him back against the wall with only minor bruises and scratches all as he continued to push back against this lost and wandering spirit, continually pushing his luck when it came to standing against such an overwhelming and imposing figure of this isle.
  110.
  111. That would be his downfall.
  112.
  113. Once more he rushed forwards, one hand grasping at the wings of this Demi-Angel with another explosive blast of The Arcane striking against this man. His body sent flying with wounds scattered around every conceivable inch of himself, left upon the grounds as a beaten and wounded mess. [2nd Injury, 2 roll, 4 day Temp. Not allowed to heal it.]
  114.
  115. Thera and Noel had been struck the worst.
  116.
  117. The sounds of their bodies cracking and being disfigured as flames worked to consume the both of them. Scars left along their flesh as it was seared and dug into their physical forms with potency unlike any other. Both being consumed for a single moment by this overwhelming inferno, though it seemed the holywaters of Noel had stopped the damage from being anything being temporary. [2nd Injury, 12 day perms, not allowed to medic heal, elixir of healing only.]
  118.
  119. Then came the final blow, a mass of spiritual energy flung in the direction of their final foe.
  120.
  121. Knocked, tossed back as the shard was forcibly pulled from this spiritual form in a single blow.
  122.
  123. Leaving only a downed, flickering embodiment of a spirit upon the ground...
  124.
  125. Weakened, wounded and breathing heavy...
  126.
  127. Awaiting a final execution.
  128. [21:20] ** Wandering Spirit has inflicted an injury upon Noel Elisheva. ("Your body begins heating up painfully!", "The sounds of their bodies cracking and being disfigured as flames worked to consume the both of them. Scars left along their flesh as it was seared and dug into their physical forms with potency unlike any other. Both being consumed for a single moment by this overwhelming inferno, though it seemed the holywaters of Noel had stopped the damage from being anything being temporary. [2nd Injury, 12 day perms, not allowed to medic heal, elixir of healing only.]", "Temporary", "Duration: Long (12 days)") **
  129. [21:27] She threw herself at the corrupted Spirit. She felt pity for him.. and though she couldn't truly grasp the potency of his pain she understood the best she could. Having spent over a century alone herself.
  130.
  131. It was too strong for her... the waves of Arcane wracking her ethereal body causing pain and making her figure distort and flicker. She did her best to protect Thera.. to keep her from the flames.. she had failed once more... The Spirits power throwing her down.. body wracking.
  132.
  133. Even though in the end Thera won and sealed him... how badly were they all injured..?
  134.
  135. Body still flickering... head a bit fuzzy... she tries to stand and fails.. slipping back down. A second attempt brings her to her feet... she had to make sure.. they were okay.
  136.
  137. Her own injuries seemed minor compared to some of the others... She tries to make her way to the others, to make sure they were okay.. especially Thera the flames seemingly have seared her in an inferno.
  138.
  139. Her own heart was shrouded in many emotions, pity, sadness, defeat, fear, victory, and concern all fill her. She had failed again... just like with Amara and Myst. She hadn't been there for them. She had been here... and it still wasn't enough.
  140.
  141. "E..everyone okay.. or alive at least?"
  142. (Elayna)
  143. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  144.
  145. [21:32] Who knew fighting a spirit could hurt so damn much?
  146.
  147. When the battle begins, Noel makes the decision not to hold anything back. And why would he with all of the corpses scattered around the area? Their options were to either weaken and seal the spirit as Thera had stated, or become another set of victims to live on eternally with the one who had slain the man that created him.
  148.
  149. A combination of cosmic, holy water, and nature magic floods the field to control it, combating holy flames and the power of the Arcane directly. Things were going well until an inferno catches both Thera and Noel in its grasp, working to constrict and turn their frames into overcooked husks of their former selves.
  150.
  151. "Enough."
  152.
  153. The arena begins to lose its color as the inferno closes in on the couple, and a thick bubble of holy water surrounds the both of them.
  154.
  155. "When the bubble pops, I'm going for it, Thera. I'll buy you all the time I can."
  156.
  157. It's all he has time to say before the water gives, and his burned form erupts in a violent display into the greyscale tomb of bones and blood. A thick vine slides out of his sleeve and lashes out for the neck of the specter, aiming to latch on and provide a makeshift zipline to help Noel go even faster.
  158.
  159. "I'm sorry I couldn't do more personally to help. But I won't hold back anymore with our lives on the line!"
  160.
  161. A blade of divine energy forms in the grip of his left hand, and he aims to impale the spirit right through the mid-section. A non-lethal blow, but hopefully one that would stun him long enough for Thera to carry out her actions.
  162. (Noel Elisheva)
  163. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  164.
  165. [21:33] Hurl a star at it.
  166.
  167. Cal didn't need to be told twice.
  168.
  169. Except the star he regularly hurled at his enemies was, of course, himself.
  170.
  171. Aglow with azure energies and enveloped in starlight, Calael spread his wings outward to their full length and for the third time attempted to perfect his combat technique of lighting them aflame. Holy fire took to the whitened wings and made the demiangel light up the cavern like a miniature sun. The last two times he had attempted the technique itself he had found it harmed him more than it helped, but it came with the effect of enhancing and combining the strength of his cosmic and pyromantic techniques.
  172.
  173. The tome on his back glowed blue as well, until the runes turned gold, and then with two raised, gloved palms facing outward he unleashed a torrent of heaven's blades dancing along waves of fire. As to keep to this usual fighting style, he didn't give his foe a chance to even recoil fromthe attack before Calael himself was colliding with the spirit like a meteor crashing into the earth.
  174.
  175. There within the close quarters he let the air boil until he felt the tell-tale signs of the arcane squeeze around him. Once, twice, three times he was grabbed and thrown clear to the edge of the 'arena', badly bruised and beaten down and scrambling toward Noel's healing magics. And each time his wings, now smoking as they did once before, threatened to go out and flickered like candles rather than brilliant torches in the darkness.
  176.
  177. Focus. Focus.. he said to himself, Just stall until Thera finishes-- he looked over his shoulder at whatever it was his sister-in-law was attempting and spotted the massive orb of energy expanding. "W--what--" he barely had a time to question it before he cool feel the spirit's own holy flame shift and dance toward him. Calael's wings instinctively came down to shield his body, their own flames already making the appendages used to the infernos that roiled against them.
  178.
  179. Though some burns made their mark, Calael couldn't help but let out a laugh as the entire wave passed, and then in an instant he shot back toward his opponent. His tome opened up now, its pages flapping wildly on his back, and another, grandiose volley of the angel's wrath came crashing down on top of him. It was the last thing he could do before Thera dropped her attack, and it was only during that that he noted a final blast of telekinesis coming at him like a train.
  180.
  181. Still in the air, the demiangel took the blow head on, mostly due to a lack of being capable of dodging it, and he came crashing down in a heap on the floor. With smoking wings he hoped it was over, and was relieved to see, in his achy state, the broken form of their 'guide'.
  182. (Calael Elisheva)
  183. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  184.
  185. [21:37] The shard is the least of her concerns.
  186.
  187. As flames consume her form, she struggles to approach the downed spirit, bathing in a hot cleansing bath of holy flames. Resolve manifests within her gaze, losing her spectral for as her mana reserves run low. Crimson pours from the scars that had burned, cauterized, and reopened...
  188.
  189. "..thank you." Small thanks given to the trio, wincing as Noel impales the spirit. Thankful that it's pinned in place with the golden blade of the divine, allowing her to finish this complicated exorcising.
  190.
  191. Once before the flickering spirit, she raises her arms, allowing the open wounds to drip blood upon the flickering, stabbed, spirit.
  192.
  193. Allowing it to sustain itself for a moment longer.
  194.
  195. "...if you head into purgatory like this, you're going to be stuck their, for a long, long time. Hundreds of years spent reflecting. Hundreds of years spent bitter and broken. I told you. I gave you my offer.
  196.
  197. An offer that'll be forced upon you, as this is far less cruel than making you suffer."
  198.
  199. Elayna must be hurt. Noel and Cal must be suffering, but this?
  200.
  201. This must be done.
  202.
  203. Hand extended, the spirit can feel itself tugged upon, again, it's essence being dragged elsewhere. Forced into the very ring that brought it to this realm, to begin with. In normal circumstances, this shouldn't be feasible, but this ring?
  204.
  205. Is far from normal.
  206.
  207. Once sealed, she grabs the ring, slipping it upon her finger, struggling to keep the spirit contained within.
  208.
  209. "...everyones alive, Elayna. Check on Cal."
  210.
  211. Spoken as she grimaces, feeling a stinging pain coursing over her body. Not bothering to look at the elephant in the room, until she knows the spirit is trapped.
  212.
  213. (Thera Elisheva)
