Me: So I have informed everyone that you were doing an internship,
currently your work product has been way off mark.
I can't pass you for this evaluation on the basis of what you will do.
I should have informed olly and everyone about your internship earlier,
but that could have led to your immediate failure and I thought you
will be able to give sometime to GSoC ( which you clearly havent been
able to do ).
Also I am not sure whether you are lying or not about getting a PPO and not
sitting for placements ( Even if you sit for one company you will be spending
a lot of time for placements and again you will definitely give it more importance
than GSoC ).
Passing you on your work product till now wont be fair to everyone involved in the
program.

addy: Yeah. I agree. 🙂
I won't mind. But it won't be a problem if I continue working right?

Me: Yeah definitely it wont be a problem. Its a open source project.

addy: Yup. I myself feel I didn't do the right thing trying to manage two really huge things.

Me: Yeah, everyone involved feels that you were capable, but couldnt find enough time.
And I am sorry about putting you through this. If I had been open to everyone from
the begining you wouldnt have spent so much time on GSoC.

addy: It's alright! I'm thankful that you even passed me through the first evaluation!
I didn't expect/deserve it in my opinion.
Also, I'm interning at Thoughtspot.
And mostly would get a PPO. It's a new India office.
I'm in Banglore. Would love to meet up over the weekend. It's my last weekend here! 😬
And. Yes. I'll get letor stable at least 😛
(maybe a couple of months later than scheduled 😛 but definitely would do!)

Me: Even after getting a PPO you will be sitting for placements definitely and that
process is time consuming and more hectic. Plus I tried putting this point across
to them and we agreed that we cant pass you on the basis of what will be done.

And I'm not really interested in the big companies, that's all what comes at campus.
And you didn't do anything, you were really supportive!
It's all on me, I should be the one treating you to help me through this 🙂

All I can do is atleast prove myself as a person that it was expected of me to do finish a project,
so doing that is something that would be my point in my opinion.
The stabilisation project: Instead of delaying it by an year,
I think a couple of months delay would be better.
