Had been working hard at his power over life, as such he had found a deeper understanding of his power. With in all life was another form of energy, one that had taken him nearly a decade to even recognize. Much like a Milk covered nut, at the center of every Life was a Soul.

It seemed to house the personality of the individual, and what gave their reconstructed body it's appearance. He had previously always just thought it was just the life energy every person had and his memory of them that gave these bodies shape and features, when in fact it was their soul.

With his new findings he began studying the soul more closely, while the soul generated Life energy it seemed to act as some kind of armor for the soul. He found that souls by themselves were very weak, very fragile things. He figured messing with them could end up disaster. But if he Altered the external life energy around the soul he could make a few adjustments here and there  and complete the effect he wanted, he could in sense Bind the soul to his will.

It was something he didn't exactly feel comfortable with but, after the betrayal he had experienced from people he thought of as friends, and the various other people of Earth, he wanted to avoid ever having someone close to him betray him again. He would make sure no one got close to him unless they trusted him enough to pledge their life to him. It'd only be fair since thous close tended to live off his own life force.
