- Since having to switch from my trusty Plantronics analog headset to USB headsets last year after getting a new stream PC, I haven't really ever been satisfied with how my mic sounds in my stream audio (has bits of distortion & overpeaking, especially during louder speech). I've been using the Reaper audio workstation for several months to try to improve the audio quality, using some FX filters recommended in Reaper tutorials I found on Youtube - that's helped a bit, but hasn't fixed the overpeaking issues. I'd really like to stick with a headset mic since I don't have space on my desk for a Blue Yeti or other desktop mic (without blocking my PC monitor).
- Current settings:
- Using a HyperX Cloud II headset with mic currently on the in-line sound card's gain setting 2 (tried to set as low as possible so gain could be added via software, setting 1 is too quiet to get past OBS' default noise gate settings at all, though setting 2 still has a few issues with quieter speech - was previously on setting 4 or 5 with less gain in OBS)
- Reaper 64-bit v5.70 with FX filters set per below screenshots, output to OBS Studio 64-bit via VB-Audio Virtual Cable
- OBS Studio Noise Gate/Gain filters set per below screenshots
