- 4/2/24-4/3/24 Update, day 776-777 of Russian invasion.
- Belarus/Western Border:
- Lithuanian parliamentarians proposed to revoke residency permits of RU and Belarusian nationals if they travel back to their countries more then once a month, out of a concern for espionage. The new defense minister of Lithuania arrived in Ukraine and met with Zelensky.
- Kyiv/Central Ukraine/Politics:
- UA Parliamentarians continue to work on the mobilization bill, with the final vote expected tomorrow. They notably removed provisions on demobilization and rotations, with Syrskyi recommending that the issue be addressed in a separate bill. Other parliamentarians have demanded a subsequent demobilization bill be introduced ASAP. The UA MoD stated it may take several months to pass such legislation.
- UA passed legislation allowing for ex-cons to be subject to mobilization.
- The Rada invited top military leadership to express their opinion on the mobilization bill due to be passed.
- The Rada is proposing legislation on mobilization exclusions for industries, with the goal to bring in some $5.1 billion USD of revenue every year.
- UA is developing a "Drone ID" program to allow for better deconfliction with EW assets, so friendly UAVs are not intercepted (a major proportion of losses)
- On tuesday 20/20 shaheds were shot down across the country. The strikes were targeting energy infrastructure.
- UA claims to have intercepted over 9000 RU UAV's thus far.
- UA investigators have been examining the supply chain of weaponry in Poland and UA, seeking to ensure that intermediary companies are not price gouging.
- UA PM Denys Shmyhal stated that interest on frozen RU assets in the EU may amount to 5-8 billion Euros this year, and thanked the EU for proposing initiatives to transfer revenue to UA.
- The UK company BAE signed a contract with the UK government to provide maintenance and repairs on the L-119 light artillery gun
- Northeast Ukraine/Kharkiv city:
- RU attacked border villages in Sumy oblast, killing 1 and wounding 6 other people with airstrikes.
- RU shelled a pharmacy in Kharkiv, with potential buried casualties.
- A collaborator was arrested in Kharkiv for correcting RU airstrikes on the city.
- Kupyansk/Lyman axis:
- RU launched 3 assaults in NE Kharkiv, and 3 assaults towards Terny from Kreminna. There does not appear to have been any significant change on the frontline here, with UA tanks operating right up to the forest belt occupied by RU troops.
- Kramatorsk/Bakhmut:
- RU launched some 29 attacks around Bakhmut, contesting the forests to the SE of Chasiv Yar suburb Kanal, while bombarding with TOS thermobaric strikes.
- Currently some 750 people remain in Chasiv yar, and evacuation is ongoing despite the proximity of RU forces.
- UA air defenses shot down a glide bomb by hitting its wings near Bakhmut.
- RU shelled the industrial district of Slovyansk, injuring 2 people.
- RU shelled Konstantynivka with a glide bomb, killing a mother and child in an apartment.
- Avdiivka/Pokrovske:
- RU forces continue to push to the SW of Avdiivka, moving further into Pervomaiske and W of Tonenke, the site of considerable RU mechanized losses last week. It seems likely that RU will ultimately culminate in this direction along the natural river barriers some km to the W, near Yasnobrodivka or Umanske.
- RU launched 14 assaults in this direction, supported by airstrikes.
- Donetsk City/occupied regions:
- RU continues to heavily focus on the SW Marinka direction, launching 28 assaults around Novomykhailivka in the past day.
- Zaporizhia/Southern Axis:
- UA condemned RU actions at the ZNPP again, following recent UA drone strikes and RU shelling.
- RU launched 5 assaults along the southern front in the last 24 hours, contesting additional territory near Staromaiorske in the E Donetsk region.
- Kherson:
- RU strikes on energy infrastructure in Mykolaiv cut off power to Kherson oblast temporarily. RU launched 1 assault on Krynky.
- UA noted that there continues to be RU torture camps in the south, primarily located around the Kahkovka district in Kherson, but also around Enerhodar and other major population centers. Allegedly up to 300 people are "re-educated" at once.
- Odessa/Black Sea/Crimea:
- Overnight 14/17 shaheds were intercepted around Odesa, and 2 cruise missiles as well. At least one ballistic missile hit infrastructure, killing 4 people and injuring 7 more.
- UA called on partisans in Crimea to report the location of Zirkon hypersonic missile batteries.
- RU is planning to forcibly enlist some 2500 people from Crimea by July 15th.
- RU apparently shot down another of their helicopters over Crimea, a KA-27. RU telegram channels question what's leading to all these friendly fire incidents.
- Reportedly only a single missile-capable ship remains in Crimea, the Zyklon corvette, which has never fired kalibr before.
- A downed drone crashed in Odesa, damaging a power line.
- Russia:
- UA Drones attacked an RU pilot training school in Voronezh oblast.
- RU has reportedly asked Kazakhstan to potentially supply 100,000 tons of gasoline to RU if refining capacity continues to be degraded. There was leaked audio purporting to show RU political leaders discussing occupying Kazakhstan.
- UA claims that RU will accuse the head of the SBU as being responsible for the Crocus terror attack, in order to allow for more propaganda and less internal concern about IS-backed terrorists.
- General:
- Over the last day UA forces 21 airstrikes and RU forces conducted 119 air strikes (including drones), and 149 MLRS strikes.
- Yesterday Ukrainian forces eliminated:
- 830 x soldiers (Total 450,080) [7 day avg 816].
- 47x APC
- 22x Tank
- 1x Air defense
- 19x Artillery (1xMLRS)
- 67x vehicles
- 37x UAV
- Estimated cost: $96.7 million USD
- total estimated cost- $95.4 Million/day per last 30 days, $2.9 Billion USD total over last 30 days.
- Overseas:
- Germany ordered an additional 20 Marder IFV for UA. About 75% of overall German military production is slated to be sent to UA.
- Switzerland will allocate some $5.5 billion USD over the next 12 years for financial supporting UA.
- The EU will receive an additional 1.5 billion Euros from the EU this month.
