"Where am I...?"

Tsubasa's eyesight was blurry. Maybe it was the bright white environment, or maybe it was the pounding headache she had. Either way, she couldn't tell where she was at first. It didn't take much listening to figure things out, though.

"...physically well. Ms. Kira suffered some skin-deep damage, no doubt from the landing, but Ms. Kousaka is nearly uninjured."

Ah. Now it's coming back to her. Both what happened, and the injuries on her arms and legs. She had been shocked by the outcome of the Love Live semifinals, and it must have affected her more than she was willing to let on. She wasn't paying attention, and stepped into the street, when...

"Honoka...!"

Her cry for Honoka caught the attention of the doctor, who had been explaining it to Umi and Kotori.

"Ah, Ms. Kira, you're awake," the Doctor said. "Just as well, since you should probably hear what I'm about to say."

Tsubasa attempted to sit up, though the pain in her arms made that more than a little difficult.

"Ms. Kosaka is physically uninjured; it appears you actually broke her fall," he explained, chuckling a bit, grimly. "However, she's..." he began. "She's suffering amnesia," he said, bluntly.

It was probably a good thing Tsubasa wasn't seriously injured, because if they were measuring her heart rate, it had suddenly spiked. "What...?" she uttered. Kotori wasn't faring much better, but Umi appeared calm still.

"How bad is it?" Umi asked. Her grip on Kotori's hand tightened.

"We're not entirely sure yet, but..." the doctor began.

"Oh, Umi, Kotori!" Honoka said, as she walked down the hospital room. Her gown, a mint green, contrasted her hair quite nicely, Tsubasa thought.

"Ah, Ms. Kousaka, you're awake," the Doctor noted. "And you seem to remember these two, at least."

"Yeah, they're my best friends!" Honoka said. "How could I forget them?"

Umi and Kotori ran in for a hug. "Honoka, you idiot..." Umi said, tears welling--no, pouring from her eyes. "You had us so worried..."

"It's okay, girls...I'm okay now!" she replied. "Though...I still wasn't told. What exactly did I do?"

It was then she noticed Tsubasa, mouth agape, tears welling in her eyes. She appeared too stunned to make any noises more understandable than whimpering.

"Oh, you're one of the girls from UTX's School Idol group, right?" she asked. "Is everything okay? I can't remember your name, but you look like you saw a ghost."

Tsubasa's whimpering turned into resignated, silent weeping as she raised her hands to her eyes.

"Oh, did I say something wrong...?" she thought aloud. "Is that what happened? Was I mean to you, and then we fought?"

"Honoka..." Umi began, exasperated. "That's Tsubasa Kira. After the Love Live semifinals, you saw her wander into the street, and she almost got hit by a car. 'Almost', because you saved her life."

"Wow, really?" Honoka asked, surprised.

"Yes," Umi reassured her. "I'm not surprised you acted the way you did," she said, her tone of voice unusually gentle for how she usually acts when Honoka does something stupid and dangerous. "After all, you and her were madly in love."

"...Ah."
Honoka was thinking at a million miles a minute, which was harder than it sounds considering the potholes in her memories. "I'm...sorry?" she said.

Tsubasa had calmed down a bit, but tears were still falling. "N-No, Honoka, it's me who should be sorry..." she said, not looking Honoka in the eyes. "I was distracted and hung up on my loss, and I was so careless I made you do that, and now everything's ruined, and it's my fault, and I'm a horrible girlfriend, and..." she rattled on, getting more and more worked up by the sentence fragment.

"Hey, hey, hey!" Honoka interrupted, gently. "I'm not upset with you, I promise."

"But...but this ruins everything!" Tsubasa exclaimed. "Do you remember your schoolwork? Idol practice? The other members of Muse?"

"I mean...n-not really, but..." Honoka said, as Tsubasa got worked up again. "Listen...If my first instinct was to jump into traffic to save you, I'm sure you meant a lot to me in that moment, and that I'd do it again if given the chance," she explained. "Even now."

"Honoka....I...I..."

Tsubasa cried. She didn't silently weep, she didn't choke back her voice as tears fell, she cried. And Honoka was right beside her, to cry into.
