Due to a number of traumatic experiences throughout his very long lifetime, Shade has lost the ability to feel anything negative as well as feel guilty, remorseful, emphathetic or sympathetic towards anyone or anything and, as a result, cares very little for anything that doesn't directly involve him. He tends to lean towards doing things that he considers fun, rather than doing anything else. Due to these lack of emotions, his subconscious and conscious tend to be far from agreeable when it comes to certain situations, and because of this, his existence is very contradictory at many times. He tends to be excessively blunt when speaking, easily unintentionally insulting someone or hurting their feelings, though because of his lack of guilt, this leads many to assume he is heartless (which he practically is). He also has a inferiority complex mixed with his uncaring attitude, as well as, a very complicated hate, and that, as a result, continues to break down his psyche.
