  1. I have been in the old ROBLOX community ever since Nobelium was known to people as "RBLXDev", and I came back to it once GT2 was a thing.
  2. From what I remembered from back then, in the RBXDev days there was little to no drama. Of course there were the times some staff members left
  3. and it was DCMA'd that one time, but when it was still around it was somewhat of a lively and happy community.
  4. Why can't the old ROBLOX community just BE like this all the time? Why can't we just get along and contribute to all of our projects,
  5. or better yet, one entire project of which we are all a member of?
  6.
  7. Take a look at something like Eldewrito for Halo Online, or Battlelog for Battlefield 2, or Darkflame Lego Universe for Lego Universe.
  8. There was a little bit of drama in each of those but none of it has gotten to the level of the old ROBLOX community.
  9. I have seen people try to create exploits in both the Finobe/Nobelium and Graphictoria communities, trying to bring down one another.
  10. This isn't how competition works. The goal of competition is to be better than the other person, sure, but you wouldn't destroy him or her.
  11.
  12. Let's take Apple and Microsoft for an example. They both make operating systems and they fought against each other for ages.
  13. Did they hack or exploit or find vulnerabilities in each other's software? No, because they don't give a shit about one another.
  14. The only thing they both focus on is their software, and the criticisms related to said software, and how to improve on it.
  15.
  16. That's exactly how we should be in this community. We should be building a community who have played ROBLOX as kids and want to
  17. relive those childhood memories we had.
  18.
  19. Let me tell you all a story. Back in 2008, I heard of a game known as SPORE. It looked really cool to me and I wanted it SO badly as a kid,
  20. so my parents bought me the SPORE Creature Creator and I played the hell out of that. I played it so much that I begged my parents to buy me
  21. the full copy. On Christmas day, I received the SPORE Galactic Edition and I beat it repeatedly. In SPORE, there was this aspect of creation
  22. that I really liked and I wanted to see how this all worked, so I got the behind the scenes book, "SPORE: The Evolution". SPORE, both the game
  23. and its development both intrigued me, so I sought out on trying to find a way to make games. I messed around with Game Maker 7 a bit, but I never
  24. really found a way to make cool games in 3D with it. Then, I found ROBLOX.
  25.
  26. I started playing it about as much as SPORE and made a few places to the point where my interest for video game development grew, and I took interest in
  27. video game engines and started creating my own mods for video games like FIREFIGHT RELOADED for Half-Life 2.
  28. ( http://store.steampowered.com/app/397680/FIREFIGHT_RELOADED/ )
  29.
  30. ROBLOX is one of the games that changed the way I thought of video game development. When I heard of there being a Old ROBLOX revival project, I hopped
  31. onto the opportunity to mess around with it again and relive the memories.
  32.
  33. So, Nobelium, Finobe, Graphictoria, RBXLegacy, Origins06, Memory Lane, Archway, RBXPri, Mudbrick, Bepistown, RBXBanland, BetterBlox, Oldblox, Vydien, Idiot Box,
  34. NostalgiaBLOX, and ALL the other Old ROBLOX projects out there, please read this.
  35.
  36. This is one of the best times to look back and relive our childhood memories of playing ROBLOX. The only thing stopping us is us fighting against one another.
  37.
  38. Why can't we just get along and stop fighting over pointless bullshit? Why can't we make a project recreating old ROBLOX without there being drama a week after
  39. its creation? We should all stop this and get on with our lives.
  40.
  41. I'm not saying that drama itself is bad, though. It's just part of the many things that makes friendships stronger and it teaches us how to socialize and act
  42. when talking to other people. But in this community, drama seems to be one of the most normal things to even happen to this community and that shouldn't be
  43. the case.
  44.
  45. Due to all the drama and frustration this community brings me, I ask myself if I should even be part of it anymore. I don't want to be in a community where
  46. drama happens at any moment, I want to be in a friendly community where everyone talks about the history about ROBLOX, and the stories of how ROBLOX was a core
  47. part of everyone's childhood.
  48.
  49. ROBLOX isn't just about the game or the hats or how well your dedicated servers run, it's about the community built off of it and how we all interact with
  50. each other as a whole. The community is what matters at the end of the day. We all can make this community better with every contribution, every
  51. screenshot, every client, every website, every patching methodology. This is only just the beginning of something even bigger...
