  18. (Please note, my past name for Minecraft and steam for quite some time was 'emosquirrel')

  20. My Minecraft staffing experience dates all the way back to 2011, on 'Blocktopia's Zombie Survival' classic server (now dubbed as EscapeRestart). I gained interest in the gamemode and server, and built up a reputable case to fill out an application (http://escaperestart.com/forum/threads/emo-squirrels-trusted-application.671/). I was accepted at their variation of a trail-moderator position, 'trusted', a week later. Over the month I proved adept with the commands and proper punishment of rulebreakers, and was granted the title operator. I maintained this title for over a year and a half, before I resigned due to lost interest in Minecraft Classic. Instead, I ended up focusing on moderating their newest actual Minecraft SMP server, being granted the title of trusted again(http://escaperestart.com/forum/threads/trusted-jte-operator-application.10171/). The same process repeated itself for me, gaining confidence in finding grief, moderating chat, and keeping the server calm, moderated and collected. Eventually I was promoted to the rank of Operator again, which I maintained for a year before resigning to focus on my AP courses . My next bit of staffing experience in minecraft occurred when I applied for yet another SMP server in the Escape Restart community, being granted the rank of Operator from the getgo (http://escaperestart.com/forum/threads/operator-emos-discordia-staff-application.14000/). Showing adept with the commands, and being a general effective staff member, I was granted veteran operator over the course of the year, and also was invited to become part of the planning committee for their next SMP server (Minecraft SMP servers often die fast, you got to keep it fresh to keep a playerbase). With all this planning we were able to release a new server with fresh builds and fresh take on a faction based server, taking inspiration from the elements from avatar. I maintained the rank of veteran operator for this server until it shut down a year later.

  22. My Counter Strike: Source staffing experience is a bit less extensive than my Minecraft experience. I got quite addicted to a particular server during my time as a Operator for Zombie Survival, and become a recruit for the xTcR community. Over the course of a few months, the owner of the community (Kuro) invited me to join the ranks of a full fledged member, making me the second recruit to have this privilege without filling out an application. The community stuck with me for some time, as I was promoted three more times after to the rank of L4 (Pretty much a step below your admin rank). Over my course as a member of this community, I learned source commands for moderating, learned how the extreme name sensitivity !commands have, and learned how to effectively keep my ears on voice chat, my eyes on chat, and still have a great time playing and moderating.
  23. Why We Should Pick You:
  24.
  25. Before answering this, I feel the " Have you received any punishments on the server? Will these punishments reflect poorly on you?" pairing of questions need to be answered. I've received one ban on this server for RDM and leave (https://www.seriousgmod.com/threads/winks-appeal.18010/). As stated in the appeal, I alt tabbed and quit without thinking about that slay on my head. I remedied the ban by serving the slay, and my history has been clean ever since. Because of this, I feel like this punishment should not reflect poorly on this application.
  26.
  27. I think I can benefit the server overall by joining the moderation team. With my extensive amount of experience moderating players in a handful of different environments, I think I can adapt quickly to the set of GMOD moderating commands and be effective with them and their deployment. I am used to following a given format for issue punishments, and learning the different formats for different rulebreaks (i.e. micspam: Gag+Warning,Gag for Round, Ban) will be easy enough of a task to adhere to.
  28.
  29. I expect I will be challenged in certain scenarios learning the commands, but I also fully expect to overcome and prove myself worthy of the rank by living up to the challenges and working through them. One such challenge I fully expect to undertake would be reports on players, as I've never handled such a thing before myself (Usually adminesque ranks would handle those in my previous communities). However, I have handled ban appeals before, and expect them to be a similar balance of checking logs and evidence, confirming details, and administering a proper verdict.
  30.
  31. Overall, I think you should consider this application not the merit of my previous experience, but on the merit of what I can offer skillwise. I've grown and somewhat mastered several formats of moderating a server over my timeline, and hope you can consider that.

  33. UPDATE 3/20/2016:
  34. I just realized I forgot to put crucial piece of information down if I were to be seriously considered for a position on your moderation team. From the 25th of June to the 6th of August, I will be gone working at a boy scout camp as a food services assistant. This means I have to give up all technology save kitchen equipment, my phone, and my bluetooth speaker for a good six weeks. If I were picked up by an admin, I'd resign for the six weeks when they were to come and likely reapply after that. Please keep this in mind!
  35.
  36. UPDATE 8/27/2016: Had a great summer and I'm reopening this!
