- The Beginning of the Yoshiba Family
- Around two century ago, before Quirks began to appear, there was a man named Noboru who was given a unique opportunity to join in with a Government project; the job entailed that he would be working as an undercover agent to infiltrate a drug ring that had become enough of an issue that the public was starting to notice. Noboru not only brought this ring down, but continued to fight against the evils of the current world until he retired at seventy. His son, Seiichi, would continue to bring honor to the Yoshiba name in his stead. They were law abiding, trustworthy citizens of Japan, key word being 'were'.
- This definitely changed when Hajime was the head of the family, a single accident changing the course of their family forever. Hajime had gotten too deep into trying to rescue a little boy from a slave ring when he was found, tortured, and left for dead alongside the boy. After he recovered, Hajime decided he would avenge the boy by hunting down every individual who was apart of that slave ring, and leaving them in the same condition as they had left them. Sadly, he succeeded, but not before scarring and destroying his home life. His only daughter, Yuriko, was left with his teachings and a twisted mentally to pass down to her children. Which, she did.
- Development of Quirks
- With the newly revealed Quirks came a slew of new ideals for everyone; this also included the Yoshiba's; who had fallen from law abiding citizens a hundred years ago, to "That place the police frequent". It of course wasn't long before a Yoshiba developed a Quirk, Takako began to show signs of manipulating blood, forcing the entire family to believe she had been possessed by a demon. Takako perhaps suffered the worst out of her family line, unable to escape exorcisms and other religious tests until she married into another family. This caused a small psychological break that wouldn't show itself until she birthed a son who showed the same Quirk as herself. The abuse would continue down the line, and the Yoshiba's changed from Buddhism to Christianity somewhere along this time.
- This eventually lead to Akane's and Kana's Grandfather, Hotaka Yoshiba; and his journey through life. He had started to make a new legacy for the Yoshiba's in the criminal underworld that had begun to manifest itself with AFO's leadership and Quirks continuing to consume the general population. Seeing the possibilities laid before him, Hotaka decided that he would marry into a particular family line to pass down a combination quirk that would enhance their bloodline quickly. The Nakamura family, which held a Healing Quirk within their blood, was the one he decided on. Nakamura Avaron was the one that Hotaka set his eyes on, and carefully balancing his criminal life, religious practices, and courting her; he finally married Avaron and placed her under manipulative, gaslighting thoughts and words to keep her in such a household.
- To The Modern Day
- Hotaka and Avaron Yoshiba would have two sons and a single daughter, Katsumi. The two boys would continue the family business, but Katsumi was the one that Hotaka had plans for. He continued his manipulative ways with her, brainwashing the poor girl into believing that if she did not do as he said, God would punish her. With no outside influence to prove otherwise, Katsumi followed his words to the letter and looked into finding another family that held an ideal quirk to match their own. Because the three siblings only developed their fathers' quirk, Katsumi set her eyes on deepening the healing gene. She eventually found a family with a unique healing quirk, one that took on the injuries of the patient to manifest onto the user instead; which with the added help of her Mother's quirk-- enhanced healing, made it an somewhat ideal choice in the end.
- So Katsumi courted Suzuki Makoto, gaining his favor until she accidentally ended up pregnant. Because of her young age, Katsumi decided to give this child up for adoption so they could find a better home after some sincere convincing from Makoto. Katsumi later regretted this decision, but due to current events is unable to locate the child she gave up so long ago. Her name? Kana Yoshiba. It was all Katsumi left for her.
- However, after they married, Katsumi and Makoto had another little girl whom they named Akane; and from her the abuse continued until their eventual "accidental" death. Katsumi died at forty four, Motoko at forty nine. This left the last two surviving members of the Yoshiba family with Kana and Akane Yoshiba.
