  1. Dark Equestria
  2.
  3. Backstory
  4. Equestria has fallen on dark times. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna have been encased in stone, and likewise the mane six (Princess Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Apple Jack) have also found themselves encased in stone, trying to use the Elements of Harmony to restore the Princesses back. This knowledge is not quite known to be fact, though rumors have spread. Prince Shining Armor and Princess Cadence have ventured off from the Crystal Empire in hope of help as a dark power began to corrupt the ponies. They have not been heard from. Discord has also oddly disappeared...
  5.
  6. In the time of this darkness a great shadow of racism has spread over the lands. The sky had been torn asunder, at first split with both the sun and moon above, and then a deep, gray nothingness... Which became known as the Deep Gray and is quite feared for its vast emptiness.
  7.
  8. A unicorn by the name of Crimson Reign has rose to power and appointed himself (with the aid of followers) to Prince, residing in the main palace. He is harsh and firm, yet has managed to keep order among the ponies. He is a follower of this racism though in that he is a Unicorn Purist. Somehow Crimson Reign has garnered the powers to raise both sun and moon, just like the Royal Sisters. He returned the land from the Deep Gray. It exhausts him, but he does manage to do it each day and attend to royal duties.
  9.
  10.
  11.
  12. The Purists believe that each (their own) pony type is superior to the others, and they abhor a cross of the bloodlines. They may even go as far as to exile or kill members of their family who are either born a cross, or in a relationship beyond their own kind.
  13.
  14. Earth Pony Purists
  15. Earth Ponies who follow the ways of the Purists tend to be very strong and value physical strength above all else. They consider the other races weak and lacking in the strength they have, and take great pride with the fact that they keep other races fed and tend the earth. When a foal is born among them that is not an Earth Pony, it is tradition to either bind the wings or break the horn. Both cases result in the pony being crippled, though functioning as an Earth Pony.
  16.
  17. Pegasus Pony Purists
  18. Pegasus Ponies who follow the ways of the Purists tend to value speed and agility, as well as their wings. They also often enjoy flaunting the fact that they have the freedom of flight. They consider other races literally beneath them. They take great pride in their ability to control the weather, which they claim is the only reason other ponies are even able to do what they do, such as tend the land. When a foal is born among them that is not a Pegasus Pony, it is unfortunate tradition to cast them from the clouds. This usually results in death.
  19.
  20. Unicorn Pony Purists
  21. Unicorn Ponies who follow the ways of the Purists tend to value power over all things. They can do things other ponies can do through magic, and flaunt it. They too can tend the earth if they wished. They too could alter the weather if they felt like it. They can do more, so much more. They take great pride in the fact that they have magic, and think magic is superior to all else. Other ponies are simply not gifted. When a foal is born among them that is not a Unicorn Pony, they bring great shame to the family and may result in the family being enslaved with broken horns and later killed to end the bloodlines, or just send that family into total disgrace. The mare is often to blame as the unicorn stallion will blame her of cheating. The foal is usually quickly killed, abandoned, or rarely kept and hidden, growing up knowing they are inferior.
  22.
  23.
  24.
  25. Play
  26. The main setting is Ponyville. This is where most play takes place, and is by far the most diverse area in all of Equestria, where all pony types live together and still focus on being tolerant and caring beyond their own race. While it's still full of ponies, as some Purists have moved out, there's housing available and many jobs. Time to time play will take place beyond Ponyville, either in a side channel or through being stated in main. The Everfree Forest is a part of main as well.
  27.
  28. While the theme here is "dark" compared to the usual MLP themes, we ask that adult themes (such as a stallion waltzing about "hanging out") be kept to private. If a scene is going down where the inevitable rape should happen, just FTB (fade to black) and take it to a private room.
  29.
  30. You can use scripts to play your characters. We welcome them, and encourage them if you're going to play more than one at a time. Just do not use "bright" colors as your main body text.
  31.
  32. Play here is freeform. An OP may step in or speak up if things are over powered or out of place in the world, but overall most things fly as long as they go according to the show/comics in ways of technology and such. Character death -is- possible, even without your permission.
  33.
  34. We encourage OC's (Original Characters) for this world but if you have your heart set on a Canon Character after you've played your OC for a bit, we can work something out.
  35.
  36. Original Character Rules (OCR)
  37. Run your character over by an OP before play. We just need to be sure it goes by our rules and keeps specially approved characters special. Copying another's idea is frowned upon.
  38. Please stick to the listed races! If you want a race added, run the idea over by the OP council. You can either show your completed idea to us, or give us a small summary before you put a lot of work into it.
  39. Players are limited to one alicorn and MUST be approved by the OP council. Choose wisely. Only a few players will be allowed to have more than one. This keeps alicorns rare, as so they should be.
  40. Dragons are not allowed to be as tall as mountains. Please stick to small dragons, or at most, Discord-sized dragons.
  41. You may slide your character into nearly any area when it comes to work/profession. If you want to work somewhere and are unsure, such as at Canterlot Crimson Castle, just ask.
  42.
  43. Main Pony Races
  44.
  45. Please note that only the crossbred offspring of Alicorns, Pegasi and Earth Ponies are able to breed. Other hybrids cannot reproduce, so no Vamponie-Seahorse-Elementalist hybrids and the like.
  46.
  47. True-born Alicorns
  48. Alicorns who are born as alicorns. They have larger wings and more feathers than the Ascended. They have a great deal of magical power but are usually aligned with a theme, such as the moon (Luna) and the Sun (Celestia) but can be of many other themes. They are extremely rare, and alicorns can only be born from two alicorn parents. They are always royalty, though may be outcast from their nobility and royal duties for different reasons. That does not change their royal blood.
  49. Ascended Alicorns
  50. Ponies who have ascended into alicorns. They have smaller wings and less feathers than the True-born alicorns. Their magic tends to be gifted, as even unicorns have basic spells they can do, these alicorns can touch upon those spells and tend to be more emotionally in-tune with their abilities. Example include Princess Cadence, who's power is namely of Love, and Princess Twilight who's true inner power comes from Friendship. Ponies can only Ascend through a great, powerful force.. good or evil. It usually involves trauma and for the pony to have a great deal of will. It's sheer willpower that triggers the Ascension. They are thought to be more powerful than True-born Alicorns. Any pony race can Ascend.
  51. Earth Ponies
  52. These are the ponies who tend the land and care for the earth. They tend to be artists and laborers, doing mundane things. Most Earth Ponies have a great deal more of physical strength compared to others. They can withstand brute force and blunt damage better than any other ponies. They're also very fast runners usually, so their main fighting force are chargers. They don't often get sick either, being a very hardy race. Most are of the working class variety. They do not fly or have horns, so they do not use magic.
  53. Pegasi
  54. The Pegasi are the ponies of the air. They have feathery wings and are in charge of the change of the seasons. Most pegasus ponies are lighter in weight and more fragile than other ponies. They have the freedom of the air and many enjoy lazing on the clouds, as one of their abilities is to cloud-walk. They don't do well when it comes to blunt damage but they are agile in the air so don't often get hit. They can withstand temperature changes better than most other ponies. Most are of the middle class variety. They do not have horns and do not do magic.
  55. Unicorns
  56. Unicorns are the magical ponies. All unicorns have the ability to learn different spells and most use telekinesis in their everyday lives for moving objects. They are magically in-tune and tend to have tastes for the finer things in life. While they are not airborne, they have spells to summon wings of gossamer in order to fly, though the wings are fragile. Despite they live on land, most unicorns are so strong in their magic because they depend on it daily, and thus their bodies are usually weaker than earth ponies. Most are of the high society variety.
  57. Breezies
  58. The Breezies are a race of fairy-like ponies. They resemble Pegasus Ponies, but are much smaller in size at three inches and have transparent dragonfly-like wings and antennae, with long limbs and thin bodies. They are depicted as very mischievous creatures and regularly migrate across the land. They are known for carrying seeds and pollen on the wind. They live in communities that migrate together and hibernate in the winter. Breezies need the wind from the Pegasi to carry them along, and ponies tend to stop their duties to help each flock of Breezies pass, because they tend to much of the land through the wind and are extremely fragile beings. They have no cutie marks.
  59. Changlings
  60. Changelings are largely equine in appearance but possess insect-like characteristics and have no natural cutie marks. They have black carapace-like coats, webbed manes and tails, reflection-less eyes, fangs, bent horns, insect-like wings, and holes in their legs. Their leader is Queen Chrysalis, who can communicate with members of her "hive" through telepathic reach. Her Hive consists of only the greatest warriors of the race. Changlings feed on emotion, namely love. They will often separate loved ones and then replace the separation with themselves. Changlings often abandon their own colts and fillies to unwitting parent-ponies, so their children grow up strong from the love under the guise of the child-pony, through their parents' magic. The true child pony is taken away, where they are deprived and forced to only rely on their keeper, thus feeding them love. They become known as House Ponies, who are so starved for attention and care that they give an abundance of love for scraps of care in turn, between chores and duties. When a Changling reaches maturity, they will change to their true forms, shedding the appearance given to them. They have a natural instinct to then leave their pony families and seek out their Queen, to present themselves. Some fight this, while others also try to return to their pony family.. but the ponies tend to reject the changling and instead mourn the loss of their foals or begin seeking their true foals.
  61. Vamponies
  62. These vampiric ponies have fangs, leathery and pointy ear and wing styles, pale body colors, red eyes, a deep hunger for apple juice, animalistic instinct, and aggressiveness. They are fond of the color red, and on touch can actually steal the color from other objects (making them gray) and put them on other same-sized non-living objects (making a blue ball red). Their manes and tails tend to be unkempt from their erratic flight. They can see in the dark, and are nocturnal. They hate sunlight because it burns their eyes and renders them blind. They can barely see in dim-lit areas due to light. Vamponies also have the ability to walk on walls and up objects like tree trunks, similar to Pegasi with cloud-walking. They primarily live in the Appaloosa Mountains, in Stalagnight, a city of rock that is masked in darkness within a mountain. Their groupings are known as clans and they call their cutie marks flank art, and they often resemble cave paintings and designs.
  63. Crystal Empire Ponies
  64. The CEP are like any other pony race, with a few exceptions. Even the hardiest earth pony among them is rather fragile. The pegasi among them are likewise fragile and take more energy to remain airborne. Their bodies are transparent and their manes tend to glisten and glitter like gems. Any CEP is a pony born in the Crystal Empire. Even thought they travel, they keep their crystal look. But their offspring will only have a gem-appearance if born on the lands of the Crystal Empire. Crystal Empire Ponies are connected to the Crystal Heart of the Empire, which must remain filled with hope and care, lest the kingdom crumble. When its powers wanes, so does the spirit of the ponies and their colors grow dull and jaded.
  65. Seaponies
  66. These ponies look like normal Earth Ponies on land save for their tails and manes are fin-like. They dehydrate easily and must always have water nearby. While they do have fur on their forms, they also have a hide of scales. In the water, their forms change. They can breathe under the water and their hind legs and tail merge into one tail with a flowing fin. They are graceful, fast swimmers. But terror befalls a Seapony caught on land in the rain. Their cutie marks are known as flow marks, and are often very languid and liquid-like in design.
  67. Zebras
  68. The Zebras are the "tribal" ponies. They tend to be white, gray, or black, or a mix of the three or two. Some brown ones do exist. They are most known for being exotic in look and manner. Their customs may seem strange to many, and they live in tribes. Zebras wear bangles, usually silver or gold, which tend to be passed down their the family. The more bangles a zebra wears, the more influence they tend to have over other zebras. Zebras also tend to talk in rhyme, a custom that causes them to truly "think about what they are going to say, and thus present it in the best way" and it helps them avoid many a confrontation and keep calm. They enjoy the heat and warmer weathers best, and are not harmed by rough winds of blowing sands. They also tend to have knowledge on how to use natural aids to heal ailments. Their cutie marks are known as glyph marks and are as tribal as they are. Halfbreeds exist and are known as Zebroids.
  69. Elementalists
  70. The Elementalists are ponies who are aligned with an element. They resemble earth ponies by having no wings or horn. Their coat colors match that element, and their manes are made of the very element they control. The longer the mane and tail, the more powerful the pony. Elementalists can alter that element they are aligned with, however they are weak to their opposing element, in both magic and nature. They cannot use any other elemental powers. They have no cutie marks.
  71.
  72. Other Races
  73. Dragons
  74. Dragons are lizard-like creatures with large bodies, long necks and tails, scales, and bat-like wings. They come in a variety of colors and often have spikes or horns. Most are of huge stature and seclude themselves within mountains to sleep the decades away. Some smaller ones, namely babies, have been known to venture among ponies, but tend to tire of their lifestyles and venture off. Dragons sleep for long periods of time, and the less sleep one gets, the smaller they stay. Greed also affects their growth, as the more greedy a dragon is, the larger they grow and the faster they grow. Generous dragons stay small and young. Their traits include flight, fire-breath, magical breath to send scrolls, a tough hide, and immunity to fire, lava and heat. Dragons tend to not eat meat among company that would normally be considered food, and instead sustain their hunger namely with gems and crystals or non-meat foods like fruits or hay fries and sweets. While they are known to collect magical trinkets, they have n innate magical ability like unicorns do. Dragons use gems as payment and currency.
  75. Diamond Dogs
  76. These are bi-pedal dog-creatures with a love for shiny things, like gems. They are expert miners and live in tunnels deep underground. They live in groups called Packs and it is custom for them to wear a collar consisting of their birthstone. They alternate between walking on their hind legs and all fours, their elongated forelegs and huge hands giving them a gorilla-like appearance. They also have short and stubby spiked tails. The Diamond Dogs usually hail from a land in the Appaloosan Mountains called Dimondia.
  77. Cattle/Bulls/Cows
  78. The cattle of Equestria are the laborers and cheese makers of the world. They tend to stay in wide open spaces and country areas, living in barns. They spook easily and are known to kick or stampede as a result. They also sleep standing up.
  79. Sheep
  80. While sheep also live in barns, many will travel. They like to trade their wool and often MANY other things. Sheep tend to collect all kinds of odds and ends, usually the unwanted and discarded. They believe nothing is a waste. Sheep travel in herds across the land and are known to steal ratty old things and dismantle junk piles. Rarely though they will do good, like use their own goods to repair a wagon or home in need. Sometimes they have junk treasures and when an obscure item is needed, a sheep probably has it. They usually have their own language, which is just a series of bleats.
  81. Donkeys/Mules
  82. They are laborers and cooks, and do the mundane much like the earth ponies. Donkeys can mate with other donkeys or with ponies, which results in mules. However, mule is often a term for an insult. Many mules are slow, dull-witted, boring and have low self-esteem.
  83. Minotaur
  84. This race is seen as a muscular, bipedal, therianthropic ox-like character. They live in a kingdom known as Mythos, where they are the lead race. They have no magical ability but are strong and tend to be hot-tempered and bossy.
  85. Camels
  86. This race tends to come from desert areas like Saddle Arabia. They drink vast amounts of water and are very nomadic, living in encampments on the sands. They have no problem in heat or nights of strong cold, but do not do well in snow and ice.
  87. Buffalo
  88. The buffaloes are analogues to Native American tribes, having similarly decorated tents in their tribe and wearing feathers on their heads. Their main gem is turquoise and used often in trade. They are large, burly creatures with high intellect. Most live out near Appleoosa and among the Appaloosan Mountain range. They call their family tribes.
  89. Griffons
  90. These are creatures that have the body of a lion, and the front claws, head, and wings of an eagle. They can walk on clouds as well and come in only natural colors.
  91. Horses
  92. Horses are commonly from Saddle Arabia, and are cousins to the ponies. They are much larger than ponies, standing as tall as True-born Alicorn adults and come only in natural colors. They are very strong, even stronger than Earth Ponies.
  93.
  94.
  95.
  96. Creatures of Equestria
  97. Timber Wolves - Wild wolves that are made of wood, leaves and branches. They are one with the woods. Their eyes glow bright green and they live in Packs. The sound of metal on metal is often used to scare them away. A Pack can disassemble themselves and merge into one very large timber wolf in times of threat. Their breath smells of compost.
  98. Cockatrice - A creature with a chicken head and legs, and snake tail and neck, and tongue. It also has scaly wings. It's glare can turn those who meet its glowing yellow eyes into stone. While it can willingly turn others to normal again, the tears can be collected for cures.
  99. Parasprites - Parasprites are small, round, flying creatures that quickly become problematic. A parasprite can devour an entire basket of apples in mere seconds. Each time they eat their body-weight, they multiply, sometimes one can make ten in seconds. They are initially regarded as cute pets, but their rapid multiplication and voracious appetites turn them into pests and menaces.
  100. Manticores - They have the body of a lion, a scorpion's tail, and a pair of dragon-like wings.
  101. Ursa - A gigantic magical bear with fur that looks like the night sky, and are partially translucent. Ursa Minors are babies. Ursa Majors are adults. The babies are HUGE, and often mistaken for adults, which are muuuuuch bigger but rarely seen. They live deep in underground caves.
  102. Orthos - Dog with two heads.
  103. Windigo - The windigos are explained to be winter spirits that feed off fighting and hatred; the more hate the spirit feels, the colder things become. They are transparent horse spirits with brilliant glowing eyes of blue. It is rumored that they are the spirits of ponies who have died in their acts of revenge or malice, or a large amount of hate in their hearts. They seek to haunt and feed on the hate of other ponies, to steal away their life force, and use it to regain their own lives.
  104. Hydras- The hydra has four heads on snake-like necks and a large, orange, dragon-like body, with only two legs and no wings or arms. It has a smelly gas that envelops it as it rises from its home, usually a bog, and they attract ticks. Liek soem dragons, they like to eat ponies. The heads sometimes display different expressions and even laugh at each other's misfortunes.
  105. Phoenix - The firebird. Phoenixes need to renew themselves by shedding all of their feathers and bursting into flames. When they near the time of renewal, they look sickly and gag, and begin to pull their dying feathers out, making them seem bald. They live in trees and make nests. Only fire-immune creatures can handle their eggs because they're like hot coals to protect them. Dragons think the eggs and birds are tasty delicacies usually.
  106. Chimera - It is a fearsome creature with a tiger's front body and head, a goat's hindquarters and head on its left shoulder, and a snake for a tail.
  107. Quarray Eels - They're very large creatures that usually resemble the colors of the rocks they are surrounded by. They like to tunnel through crevices and make homes in rocky ledges. These eels become agitated when anyone gets too close to their nests, and lunge out with jaws snapping. It's also how they catch their food, be it birds, dragons, griffons or pegasi.
  108. Tatzlwurm - It is a sub-terranian worm-like creature with a tri-mandibular jaw and a maw containing black tentacles that can reach out and grab its prey. It also has scales and a red mane-like structure behind its head. It appears to be vulnerable to offensive unicorn and Alicorn magic. The creature's sneeze transmits an unknown disease to others, making them sneeze, turn blue/green and grow very fatigued. The flower on its head can be used to make the cure.
  109. Cragadile - Its form mostly resembles that of a crocodile, but its hide is covered in rocks and rock spires. It's a big beast at 10-25ft, with rows of teeth and an appetite to match.
  110. Fruit Bats - These bats come in the colors of the rainbow and resemble fruit. The midsections of red fruit bats in particular resembling strawberries; they also appear to have leaves for ears. Yellow ones are exotic and like bananas, green resemble pears, bright browns are kiwis.
  111. Vampiric Fruit Bats - Vampiric Fruit Bats are different than normal Fruit Bats. Unlike their more colorful counterparts, vampire fruit bats come in dark colors such as black and brown, and have red eyes and long fangs. They are considered vermin for their tendency to suck apples of their juice during harvest season. However, their habit of spitting out the apples' seeds has the long-term benefit of growing healthier, more productive apple trees. This is similar for other fruits as well, depending on the region.
  112.
  113.
  114. Places
  115. Equestria is the kingdom where play takes place. It's ruled now by Crimson Reign from Canterlot.
  116.
  117. Ponyville
  118. http://mlp.wikia.com/wiki/Ponyville
  119. This is where the main play takes place. The Library is a place now locked off, and kept under guard by Blood Rayne's guards. (Playable) Most of the Canon Characters have moved out, and there is no mayor. Ponyville is in disrepair, but those who come there, are trying to band together and fix it. The place is still the most diverse, including many of ponykind banning together. It's the closest to the royal cities and mystical areas, so ponies think it's a good base to use for trying to restore Equestria. This lets players take up roles and have ponies occupy jobs and tasks.
  120.
  121. Places of Note in Ponyville
  122. This is a list of places of note, meant to inspire play and give an idea of the surroundings. The Train Station and Dodge Junction have been disabled and many establishments have changed. Please feel free to ask about building on to the setting, or just have your character work at one of the places.
  123.
  124. Ordinary houses in Ponyville are wood paneled with hay-thatched rooftops. Some are move-in ready while others need work. Many shops also have lofts and living areas.
  125.
  126. The Magic Academy - It's a unicorn-only school where young foals are enrolled to learn to control and manifest their abilities. They help the young discover their cutie marks all the quicker in a controlled environment to help eliminate potential harm to themselves and their surroundings. Many elitists and purists send their foals here for schooling. The school also has a ward that houses colts and fillies who are away from home, or have no home. Unicorns who both teach and attend this academy are usually of like-minds in the purist ideals. The building is large and located where the Town Square and Town Hall used to be.
  127. The Schoolhouse - This school isn't a prestigious place and accepts foals of all kinds. Here, they learn about the history of Equestria, their Cutie Marks, and everyday knowledge like math and discovering themselves. The red-paneled school house has a bell on the roof, a flag in the front yard, and a sign on the lawn depicting an open book and the silhouettes of two rearing fillies.
  128. Golden Oak Library - This library is now under lockdown, guarded and protected by Crimson Reign's guards. The building is a large hollowed-out tree, protected from lightning and fire alike through a magically enchanted lighting rod on the top, shaped like a rearing unicorn. The library is on the ground floor, while the second floor has living quarters and the basement is rumored to have a laboratory for who knows what... Rumor says there is also a tunnel there that connects to the Everfree Forest.
  129. Ponyville Hospital - The hospital houses the sick and injured. It's large and has doctors who also make house calls.
  130. Ponyville Orphanage - This building is shaped like a horseshoe, with a playground for foals in its center. The orphanage is run by a rather buff alicorn named Tender Heartsong. He accepts all kinds of foals and doesn't discriminate. The orphanage sends the foals to The Schoolhouse for learning and lets the little ones play freely. A large bell that can only be pulled non-magically by a very strong pony is used to call the orphans home at curfew, just as the sun is about to set.
  131. Ponyville Clocktower - The clocktower notes the time. (Eastern Standard) and chimes each hour. It's run on gears and so it and its bells need tending often.
  132. Ponyville Theater - The theater is open to all and hosts shows put on by other ponies. It used to be the place where historical celebrations of harmony were put on. But these days such is rare, and instead ponies will often use it to put on plays of humor and individual racial histories.
  133. Marketplace Bazaar - Ponies here can purchase and sell their wares. It's freely open to all ponies who wish to have a stall or cart on display.
  134. Sweet Apple Acres - The barn exists, but is run down. It's been long-abandoned and the orchards have overgrown and become home to many creatures, such as Fruit Bats. Ponies do brave the overgrowth though to tend to and pick apples now and then, as the orchard has been one of the main saving graces of Ponyville since the disappearance of its heroes. No one knows why the Apple Family left the orchard. Some think they were driven out by the unicorn purists.
  135. The Clover Cafe - The establishment serves hay burgers, horseshoe-shaped fries, soft drinks, and milkshakes. They also serve hayfries and salads, and a few sweets like cupcakes. It's a large restaurant and the main place to go for food and meals. It has a thatched roof and is decorated with green clovers, both really grown and painted. There's hay-bale seating outside as well as inside. The tables inside are wooden disks while outside they are flat mushrooms. It's currently the only existing establishment to serve food since the downfall of the Royal Sisters.
  136.
  137. Everfree Forest
  138. The Everfree Forest is a wooded area on the outskirts of Ponyville. It is presented as a mysterious place that is home to a variety of creatures and animals, and possesses a quality that allows plants and animals to thrive without pony intervention, which ponies consider "unnatural". Both the Tree of Harmony and the Castle of the Royal Pony Sisters exists here, along with many other dark secrets such as the Mirror Pond, a mystical pool of water within the Whispering Caverns.
  139.
  140. Prancing Park
  141. It's located in Ponyville yet stretches into the outskirts. Prancing Park is a place Tender Heartsong made with his Creation Magic. It's a large grassy park with slides and swings for ponies, particularly catering to little ponies. It has a pond known as Prancing Park Pond, which is shallow around the edge for foals and little ponies, but deeper towards the middle. Throughout the pond are massive lily pads known as Lurking Lilies for ponies to climb on and bounce from. They float, and are attracted to movement, so little ponies cannot drown. Their flowers are often used for herbal remedies of calming and easing muscular aches. There are many trees here, and areas for picnics as well. It is separated from the Everfree Forest by a stone wall in the middle of a large open meadow.
  142.
  143.
  144. Other Places of Note
  145. Appaloosan Mountains
  146. The Appaloosan Mountains are vast and rocky, ranging from desert wastelands at the bases, to icy snow tops at the tips. They are located South of Appleoosa, beyond the Macintosh Hills. They contain Stalagnight City and Diamondia.
  147. Appleoosa
  148. Appleoosa is a western-like town located out by the desert and Appaloosan Mountains. They focus on the mining of turquoise and growing golden sand apples from orchards that have been cultivated. Their orchards are unique because they contain running paths for their Buffalo neighbors, which helps flatten the soil to retain water and also loosens the ripe apples from the trees during apple bucking season. Appleoosa is mostly made of buildings of wood and wooden shingle rooftops. It is primarily occupied by Earth Ponies who tend to the land. They are best known for their delicious golden apple pies, not to be confused with golden delicious apple pies. They take offense to it, since the apples are so different.
  149. Diamondia
  150. A kingdom in the Appaloosan Mountains where the Diamond Dogs come from. It resembles a huge dug hole inside of a mountain, with caverns and tunnels connecting throughout the kingdom. The actual houses and buildings resemble dog houses. Instead of using bits to trade and pay, they use bones and gems.

  152. Stalagnight City
  153. Located deep within the top of the Appaloosa Mountains, is this city. It's formed of former Diamondia, hence the caverns and tunnels. Building was stopped by the Diamond Dogs when they encountered frigid cold from being up so high, and thus the place was abandoned. Eventually, the Vamponies moved in. They have since rebuilt and expanded, using the Diamond Dog tunnels as a guide. Stalagnight City is comprised of cavern homes and masterworks of carved stone and rock. They use crystals to decorate and have all but the color red. The color red is forbidden within the city, because it causes fights. Fungi is cultivated here in great farms and used for remedies, tea and food. Some of the fungi even glows, giving off a light that does not harm the Vamponies or hinder their sight. They produce this mix of fungi for trade, along with their stone works. Such are their main produce. The city when spoken of by other races, is said to be as dark as the night yet beautiful as a starscape.
  154. Canterlot
  155. Canterlot has become the unicorn hub of Equestria. Since Crimson Reign has taken over, the Castle has thus altered into Red Crystal surroundings, and become known as the Canterlot Crimson Castle. Canterlot is still of high society and still hosts events such as the Grand Galloping Gala, but it is more heavily populated by unicorns now and is the known residence of Prince Crimson Reign. He hasn't removed any of the stained glass windows and has taken great care to preserve the castle.
  156. Trottington
  157. Saddle Arabia
  158. Located south of the San Palomino Desert, Saddle Arabia is comprised mostly of Horses. They live in huts and tents, as well as large gaudy stone and marble buildings, favoring gold as a color and as an item for currency.
  159. Cloudsdale
  160. Cloudsdale is a city in the sky where the Best Young Flyer competition takes place and where Equestria's weather is made. Only Pegasi live and work there, since non-Pegasus ponies cannot stand on clouds. The Weather Factory is located here. The buildings are sculpted of clouds and ice which never melts, and there are rainbow bridges to walk upon though mostly they are for decor.
  161. The Crystal Empire
  162. The Crystal Empire is where Prince Shining Armor and Princess Cadence have ruled, however in their absence, it has been up to the pony residents to best preserve the empire by keeping hope and remaining happy, for the Crystal Heart to protect them. Ponies born on Empire lands retain their lustrous beautiful shimmering coats and transparent forms, looking much like crystal themselves. The Crystal Heart connects to its ponies through emotion, and so long as they are happy and hopeful, it creates a shield that protects the Empire. When outsiders step into the city, they often find themselves gifted with the Crystal Appearance, unless they reject it through willpower. The buildings here are made of beautiful, solid crystal panes, similar to the castle walls. The castle itself also has raw crystals outside of it, decorating and protecting it. Throughout the city, raw crystals grow at random, varying in sizes. It takes years for them to grow large, and they are harvested if they are an obstacle. Vamponies tend to not like this place due to the light reflecting and refracting off of the crystals, making it far too bright for them, even at night. While the Crystal Empire is a beautiful place, its ponies are mainly Earth Ponies. Though, the Crystal Empire is the second-most diverse area of Equestria. It's amazing for it, because the bickering and hate that others tend to have may very well bring down the Empire if it were in infect its ponies. For this reason, the Crystal Empire only accepts outsiders through special events, invitation, or approval.

  170.
  171. This is just a list of some examples. More magic does exist. Use this as a basic guide.
  172.
  173. Passive Magic: This magic is "automatic" such as the ability for Pegasi to cloud-walk, push clouds, carve snowflakes. This includes the aura that a unicorn's magic has of varying colors, though it may often match their eyes or the theme of their power or cutie mark. It also includes the ability of Vamponies walking on walls.
  174. Basic Unicorn Magic: Telekinesis, Gem-finding Spell, Creating Minor Illusions, Cloud-Walk Spell, Growth Spell, Teleport, Enhance Senses, Illuminate
  175. Advanced Unicorn Magic: Shields and Barriers, Summoning Gossamer Wings, Memory Revise, Lock, Unlock, Memory Reverse(Forget)
  176. Master Unicorn Magic: Age Spell, Healing, Destruction, Love, Transform, Switch
  177. Alicorn Magic: Celestial Manipulation, Banish, Living Stone, Energy Drain, Weather Manipulation, Creation Magic

  180. Elemental Magic: The summoning or manipulation of the elements of earth, fire, water, and air. A side-effect is their mane and tail resemble the element they are using. For those who learn this strong magic, they cannot switch from one element to its opposing element right after, and need to take a break or to use another element before summoning the opposite.
  181. Friendship/Love Magic: It's a strong inner magic, able to protect and withstand great terrors, to heal broken hearts and allow others to tap into spells and magic normally beyond their reach. It tends to be just as strong as Dark Magic, usually only over-powering it when strong in number. It often happens when most unexpected, and when used to protect others rather than oneself.
  182. Fear Magic: This magic causes victims' manes and tails to turn white temporarily or until restored. It can be caused through Nightmares, Illusions, or Presence.
  183. Blood Magic: Blood is needed, and not generated. This allows ponies to manipulate the blood from wounds of others and themselves. It can became solid and sharp, or sticky like a web. It is only limited by its supply. A Master can possibly drain anypony to death.
  184. Imbued Magic: This is the term for magic gained from something, such as an item or through eating something. It's gifted magic. Some imbued magic may be permanent.
  185. Innate Magic: Innate magic is a magic that comes from within. It is created, generated, and manipulated from inside somepony. It needs an anchor or focus in order to work. Many think unicorn magic is a form of innate magic and the focus is their horn.
