  391. Experience Curve
  392.
  393. The experience curve is a mechanic to help prevent players from becoming level 300 and dominating everything. It's not really fair. So instead, after you gain a level, you need a bit more experience each time to get the next level, and then a bit more than that to advance further. So on and so forth.
  394.
  395. The system for defining how much experience you need per level is represented by an equation. y = x + (x * 63). Where x is equal to your current level. So a level 5 character would need y = 5 + (5 * 63) experience to get to level 6. So... 320.total exp needed.

  413. Professions
  414.
  415. A Profession is any non-combat skill that opens up an array of possibilities in Sword Art Online! You can become a Blacksmith, a Tailor, a Herbalist, and even a Musician! These professions are a way to make money and craft armor that is unobtainable by any other means in the game. Now, in most MMOs, you have to grind endlessly to acquire the skill points in order to make anything useful. Since this is play by post, we have modified the mechanics a bit. This is how it will work.
  416.
  417. Professions are directly reliant on your 'intelligence' stat, and professions are only available to those at level 35 or above. Now, when wanting to craft a new item based on your profession, you will need to make a 1-2 post thread of you Roleplaying out your character coming up with the idea, and then eventually forging it. You aren't limited to any tiers, but the stats that your weapon will grant is based upon your intelligence. For every 20 AP you spend in intelligence, you are allowed to distribute 1 stat point boost to your crafted item (rounded up). So if you have 70 AP in intelligence, your crafted weapon can have a total of a +4 stat boost. For example, this could be my weapon.
  418.
  419. | Blade of Doom: A black iron short sword with a leather wrapped hilt. |
  420. +2 Agility
  421. +2 Attack
  422.
  423. or I could make it like this
  424.
  425. | Blade of Doom: A black iron short sword with a leather wrapped hilt. |
  426. +4 Strength
  427.
  428. It doesn't matter how I distribute the stat boost, so long as it totals 1/20 of my intelligence stat. In this case, it's 4.
  429.
  430. Profession Oriented Characters
  431.
  432. Some players will choose the simple life, and merely want to be craftsmen; and settle down with a pretty lady/gentleman. This is fine, SAO is very accepting of all kinds. But their leveling will operate differently. First off, you still need to gain experience and level up, but you will level up not by battling, but by posting about yourself studying, crafting, forging, gathering materials, and whatever else it is that you do as a craftsman. Now, there is a catch. You are only allowed to distribute AP to the stats that make sense to your profession. The profession stats are listed below along with their coinciding profession. Blacksmithing will be Strength and Intelligence. So you still gain 7 AP to distribute per level. But you may only distribute the 7 AP to either Strength or Intelligence. This follows for the other professions, just with different stats.
  433.
  434. Note: You will not gain levels for social interaction, only for talk related DIRECTLY to the creation of an item or studying your profession.

  450. Leatherworking
  451. +Evasion
  452. +Intelligence
  453.
  454. Note: It is advised that you level to Lv. 35 and continue raising intelligence by combat, because once you make a high level profession character, it makes it extremely hard to switch over to a combat character because of the experience curve and the lack of combat stats your character will have. You'll end up slaughtering Slimes for days.
  455.
  456. Note: You may create items as fast as you can RP them out, but if the quality of your posts are not up to par when submitted. (Like if you just say "I make a sword") Then a mod will tell you that you fail at crafting the item. Try to make them as detailed and qualitative as your combat threads.

Behind his waist, he carries a meter and half long Talwar weapon. 643. Spoiler: Hide
  644.
  645. dLeiGlh.png
  646. This creature looks like a large Thorny Skate, except the fins are covered in thousands of scales in varying hues of blue. The head and spine are left uncovered, appearing to be a sickly brown and ash grey mix. Various sprouts trail the back of the head and the spine, ending in oval bulbs that glow a dark red. A pair of mantis-like pincers continuously click in front of a toothless mouth. The body is 26 feet wide at max, and 35 feet long without the tail. The tail is 10 feet long, ending in a large bulb about 1 foot in radius.

  649. Impenetrable Penetrator
  650. Spoiler: Hide
  651.
  652. 9lBfOSC.png
  653. I.P. is a mass of what looks like black organic matter hiding behind a random assortment of shields. All shields, although a sickly dark purplish blue, are never the same size, and those not collected by players change shape so that the entire shell has no holes. The only spots that are not armored are where the spears come out, making the creature a formidable foe. The spears are generic and all look alike, but it can / will take the spears from players it has defeated, which replace the spears if it deals more base damage than the originals.

  660. This boss is a little over 6 feet tall, and does not hold the weapon. Its armor is gold in color with a white trim, the shield covered in dried blood which hides the pearl white color. Despite its function, W.G. uses the shield as a weapon, and prefers to block and catch enemy attacks with the left hand.

  665.
  666. oglGIsR.png
  667. This spider-like automaton is around 20 feet around when sprawled, each leg being 10 feet long. Although it appears to be armored, this spider is simply mechanical and has no real armor of its own. The three smaller legs at the bottom of the body are used for two functions: grapping / shredding prey, and shaping the acidic web it produces.

  677. Titorg the Grand
  678. Spoiler: Hide
  679.
  680. xI5srQK.png
  681. Titorg stands at a whopping 200ft tall, and is definitely not an intermediate boss by any means. Its room mimics the one that belonged to the Kobold King in SAO, this creature being in the very back. Titorg rests its hammer on the ground while the claw is usually pointing and giving orders via gestures. Littering this large hallway-like room are about 50 Runed Adamantine Warhounds which attempt to charge, bite, grapple, and finally rake their opponents.
