You know, when the mortals are as flighty and unreasonable as they are, it's no surprise they ended up in the situation they are. The world despoiled, the heavens invaded and ruined, the Master either asleep or slain like the rest of his angels, the Sky Palace intact but bereft of kin. And what am I? The very last of his angels, faced against the impossible odds of all of Hell. And I must persevere and accomplish my goals before the decade is out.

Fortunately, there's more than one way to skin a cat.

Inspiring the humans is decidedly not easy, even when I can demonstrate outright godly powers, but at least some of them are pragmatic enough to settle in places that are relatively safe, and are willing to learn how to fend for themselves. Of course, I have my own angels ready to fight on behalf of humanity and they're certainly happy to help enlighten mankind to embrace the Light, but that's hardly the plan, no.

The plan involves this avenging angel becoming clad within the appropriate armor, arming himself, and marching right to the gates of Hell, ripping and tearing the entire way.

Standing there, the challenge is issued: the forces of Hell, its lieutenants, and S̶a̶t̶a̶n̶ Tanzra himself, to a Mortal Kombat tournament for the fate of the world.

It's more of a challenge than one might expect, being part of such a tournament against Hell itself. There were a handful of local humans willing to take part, and a handful of my own participated, but the riffraff of Outworld was happy to throw their lot in against Hell's demons. Those that fell in the tournament took up residence in the Sky Palace briefly, but only long enough for me to reanimate them.

The tournament was decided by myself in kombat against Tanzra, and the result was likely unsurprising. But Outworld has now increased notably in size, and merging the realms is quite difficult for even skeptics to ignore - it is little surprise that there was a massive spike in the numbers of the faithful after the tournament came to its inevitable conclusion, not to mention those in Outworld who cheerfully shared my history and reputation with the newcomers.

It does feel appropriate that I now have an afterlife for the souls in Outworld to occupy, though, instead of relying on a handful of sorcerers to collect them. And with the Book of Life and the abilities those who follow me faithfully now have, rehabilitating Outworld will now be a project of hundreds of years at most, rather than thousands.
