Subnautica: Updating savegames

  3. 1. Start Subnautica.

  5. 2. Copy the build number from the top right corner of the main menu to notepad.

  7. 3. Navigate to your save game, e.g. "G:\Steam\steamapps\common\Subnautica\SNAppData\SavedGames\slot0000"
  8.  
  9. 4. Open "gameinfo.json".
  10.  
  11. Edit the "changeSet" number with the new build number, e.g. modify [changeSet":40659] to [changeSet":40797]
  12.  
  13. 5. Start Subnautica.
  14.  
  15. Press F1
  16.  
  17. Write down "Camera batch #"'s as you swim around the perimeter of your base.
  18.  
  19. 6. Close Subnautica.
  20.  
  21. 7. In the slot0000 folder (or whatever savegame slot you are modifying) delete all the "batch-objects-XX-XX-XX.txt" files except those with the base batch #'s.

  23. 8. In the "CellsCache" folder delete all the "baked-batch-cells-XX-XX-XX.bin" files except those with the base batch #'s.

  25. 9. In the "CompiledOctreesCache" folder delete all the "compiled-batch-XX-XX-XX.optoctrees" files except those with the base batch #'s.

  27. 10. Start Subnautica.
  28.  
  29. 11. Save the game to save the new terrain data.
