- Hello,
- I purchased a Mi A1 Black (Order 5171220900670599) from mi.com delivered by BluDart on 25th Dec 2017
- I noticed if I connected it to my PC or Laptop it never showed Storage, SD card, any notification for Charge, MTP, etc. I thought it had something to do with wrong settings or my PC and never bothered until i orderd a Mi A1 for my sister (Order 5171220900670599) delivered on 15th Feb 2018, which worked normally by default and showed the notification to allow a connection. After a factory reset and checking if it worked.
- I visited Mi service centre on Monday (21, Feb 2018) which is located around 30 KMs away from my address. The staff at reception informed me there was some technical issue and asked me to visit the next day. Next day (22 Feb) I visited and asked how long it would take, I was informed only about an hour, so I decided to wait. My Service record sheet number: WXIN1802200008120 was provided. After a few hours, the phone was returned, everything seemed okay, the USB connection was working and I was satisfied, I went back home and discovered the loud Speaker had stopped working now. I visited again on 23 Feb at 11:00 AM and the staff and was asked to leave the device, and coming back after a few hours they said it was fixed. I checked the speaker and it was indeed working but there was a significant gap between the phone body and screen. I asked them can this be fixed they asked for the phone again and returned the phone again in a few minutes with the bulge decreasing slightly but still present
- I could not fit the original Mi A1 Textured Hard Case properly that I purchased from the Mi store website because the volume and powerbuttons misaligned
- I was quite dissapointed with the service and called the toll free service number 1800 103 6286 on 21st Feb. I was asked if there was any cosmetic damage or any buttons not working. But until the second day of service when the speaker stopped working- My phone was in excellent condition only PC connection not working with every button working, always Inside a case, With a screen guard. Never dropped or scratched. Now with a bulge and squeaking screen when pressed on one side, Nicely fitted on the other side. Working USB and speakers.
- In short - A gap and a bulging screen and unable to use the Mi case because of no accident or fault of mine, All in 50 odd days where I handed the phone very carefully because 13,500 is a significant sum of money for a person like me
- I received a call from the MI India later in the evening and I was given a ID (WO1N2018022100115) asked to visit the service centre again. I rode to the service centre for the fourth time and finally handed over the phone to the service centre again and it is still there and they had a chat with your executives and said it has a mechanical issue. Im deeply dissapointed, and expect a replacement Device in similar condition like mine was before leaving it for repair

- Hello,
- What you say is - "As per the above mail I see that you are facing issue with the device and service center.
- We won't be able to escalate the case to our concern team unless you share us updated jobsheet number."
- I am gravely concerned with your extreme callousness and inconsistent replies regarding my service issue with my 50 odd day old phone which I have already explained in length -
- (1) via Email,
- (2) via phone Calls to the service helpline
- (3) visiting the service centre several times
- (4) and visiting the service centre while on a live call with an executive of yours during a call back from MI India because that was what I was asked to do
- I have already cooperated in every manner possible and sharing every detail (invoice, jobsheet numbers, imei details, snapshots of jobsheet) available with me. Still if there is more needed I'll visit the service centre on the next working day.
- for any required document at the next possible working day
- I have no options left to have my concern addressed even after explaining at length but complain to concerned authorities at Indian consumer forum (INGRAM) soon if not resolved within a reasonable time frame
- * My phone was purchased from Mi india website on last week of December 2017 showed no signs of connecting to a PC, but could only be charged using the box charger within the first 10 days
- * I could unfortunately troubleshoot & confirm this defect only after connecting another Mi A1 phone to my PC that I purchased for a family member
- * I visited the service centre and was provided the previously attached jobsheet. Was informed it was fixed
- * I reached home and discovered the speaker had stopped working immediately after the repair (ie. the repair was not done successfuly)
- * I visited the service centre again and was told to wait for a while, I was given the phone back BUT NOW- with huge mechanical bulge between the screen & body due to no fault of mine and requested a fix
- * I complained immediately to the service person & via the toll free number, and they spent time chatting live. And the staff at the MI serivice centre requested me to hand over the phone and they would call me as soon as it is fixed ( which i doubted because it was an obvious mechanical bend between the phone screen and body)
- * Current situation - The phone is still at the service centre and I have the box and accessories
- AND now you tell me " We won't be able to escalate the case to our concern team unless you share us updated jobsheet number."
- I DO NOT WANT YOU TO ESCALATE OR DE-ESCALATE anything. I just want phone to be in a legitimate use-able phone or a refund or a replacement
- I'm pretty sure my issue is simply only one service complaint among several million customer complaints in India, serious or thrivial, and among thousands of service issues. But that does not mean I as a customer should simply give up a legitimate concern of mine, due to no fault of mine. Please bear in mind I feel cheated, and am willing to go any length to have my issue legitimately and legally resolved with or without you.
- The entire situation reminds me a quote-
- βIt's always possible to wake someone from sleep, but no amount of noise will wake someone who is pretending to be asleep.β
- I say The person at the service centre was unwilling to co-operate or admit it was his fault. Neither do I have video graphic evidence it was his fault. Its for you to judge at the moment
- I'm fed up of sending emails and visitng service centre repeatedly begging for a fix due to no fault of mine

- Hello,
- I received your email on 5th March, 2018 saying - "as your case has been already escalated in the following incident id WOIN2018030400628, our team will check and get back to you with resolution at the earliest."
- So I would request you - Please respond soon because I'm very inconvenienced because of the current situation.
- I had previously received another email on 22nd Feb, 2018 saying - " Be rest assured that the necessary actions will be taken by the concerned team to ensure timely resolution. For your future reference, the escalation ticket number is WO1N2018022100115."
- not to count several emails claiming similar action in between.
- This is just a kind reminder, at the present situation I've to either- (A) Wait (B) Collect the phone with a Bent due to no fault of mine or (C) I have to purchase a new phone altogether and go back to (A)
- I hope I do not have to keep waiting longer than say another week or two?
- I'm honestly very disappointed with your service at Tezpur, Assam
- Bye

- Hello,
- I am sending this reply after waiting a week since your last email.
- Thanks for your assurance and information that - " this issue is already been forwarded to the concerned authorities and is currently under process. Please co-operate with us. You will be provided with the follow up as
- soon as the prerequisites be done and prompt action is been taken shortly." a week ago. I have received several such messages prior to that since a month earlier. I urge you to do the needful soon because the time
- frame expected you say "soon" is unreasonable

- Hello,
- I received your email on 5th March, 2018 saying - "as your case has been already escalated in the following incident id WOIN2018030400628, our team will check and get back to you with resolution at the earliest."
- Bye
