- Adrian leads Drew to the vista!
- Once inside, he makes his way to the study. Before long the scholar returns with an ornate circlet forged by the likes of Dylerun himself, and a simple leather bound tome. The runes had yet to be carved into it yet.
- He opens it up for Drew to see.
- "As you can see, the formula is mostly the same. I've taken the liberty to add a few improvements and modifications. Mostly in the form of failsafe's to ensure that the arrays all function properly."
- He clears his throat.
- "Now, I've an idea. Bear with me. Here is my proposal. This circlet, forged of orchilacum will be powered by a set of runic arrays. Naturally, the orchilacum will function as a suitable power source. However! The commands must be precise, intricate-- ornate if we wish to see this work properly."
- "Not to say that there was anything wrong with them before. What I mean to say is, there are more levels to this than I would have originally anticipated."
- He taps a finger onto the page.
- "We enable a function into these arrays that connects my mana circuits to the circlet itself. This is order to imprint my former physical appearance onto the circlet. Then?"
- "Then, I plan on having two or three illusion empower the runes to ensure even more stability. Tell me your thoughts, Drew."
- (Adrian Montbell)
- Drew would follow along, more or less willingly. Though frowning slightly for the disregard towards his comment about Dominique. Taking a seat, he would look over the tome.
- "Well, that's true, but the issue comes from the manner in which the runes are designed. They need information they understand. While we could use the mana circuits as a guideline to make it work, creating those details that might otherwise be missed..." He'd say with a frown.
- "Still, the most important part is the way it should take from your memories of how you look. Rather than any physical indication." Drew would reply.
- (Drew Idd)
- Adrian nods.
- He brushes his pen along the parchment a few more times, taking note of that the necromancer said. He looked towards him a few times, tapping his hand against the wood of the table in front of them.
- "I see. So you would suggest I simply administer the runes with their specific functions, that would draw from my memory-- and then empower said runes through illusion magi, or should we proceed with the mana circuits?"
- (Adrian Montbell)
- He would nod emphatically. "Illusions are all about the mind, not the body. While using the mana circuits as anchors and reference points is all well and good. The main point of it is to project an aura of 'this is how I should look.' to those around you." Drew would reply.
- (Drew Idd)
- "I see, I see."
- Adrian writes down some more notes.
- "So as long as the circlet enables that aura to retain its shape and form based on the memory I am associating with it, there is no need for the mana circuits?" He inquires. The scholar was a researcher, granted, but he was no illusion magi. He was not as well-versed in the subject area as he would have liked.
- "I want to do what is the most effective, Drew. Tell me what you think would offer the most potent version of the circlet."
- "The runes in addition to the connection of the mana circuits, or just the runes?"
- (Adrian Montbell)
- After a moments consideration, "The connection would likely act as a stabilizing feature. You're not constantly aware of your own bodies movements, and while illusion is in the mind, sometimes what we see in the minds eye differs from reality." He would say with a nod. "The connection would likely allow you to anchor it more firmly to your form, but it would cause a bit more strain on you."
- (Drew Idd)
- Adrian taps his fingers along the wooden desk again, grimacing.
- "Hm. Though, I'd imagine the empowerment of said runes connected through to the mana circuits by a group of skilled illusion magi would do well to remove said strain. Am I wrong?"
- The scholar fiddled with his pen.
- (Adrian Montbell)
- Drew would shrug, "Not entirely sure. Honestly, the strain has more to do with the long term nature of the effect. It might be worth consulting Ceres, as she's the only one I know of to maintain a magical effect on themselves for as long as you're planning on doing this one." He'd reply. Expression unsure.
- (Drew Idd)
- Adrian nods a few times.
- "I was there when Cere's body was transferred. I remember the process quite clearly, and I'd argue it is a different type of magical effect. Her body is uniquely conditioned not to rot-- build from the base ingredients up into something akin to a human vessel."
- He stands up, tucking the tome beneath his arm.
- "I think I am going to proceed with the runes being used as the primary function, and the mana circuits being used to tether the form and create a more direct connection to my mind and memories. From there? I have the illusion magi empower said runes as planned."
- He offers the necromancer a pat on the shoulder.
- "We can only hope that it works. I am, however, of the mind that it will. Thank you for your time, Drew. I'm headed back to Avalon. Care to join me?"
- (Adrian Montbell)
