  35. This jump started off much calmer than the last. Valki and Leo entered this world in the peaceful village of Sawajiri, high in the mountains. In-setting memories informs them that they are agents sent to earth to try and track down any leads about Revi. The Federation had decided against setting up any identities for them, assuming they could use their ship as a home and base. Naturally this made it slightly harder for Leo to blend in with the locals. Luckily, with his knowledge of Earth culture restored, Valki was able to educate her on the basic do's and don'ts of the planet. Using technology from the ship they were quickly able to fabricate fake identification papers and digital cash.
  36. Using the money and papers, they moved to Tokyo and started up their own personal onsen, using a bit of magic to make everything just that much better. Of course, the onsen in question was the one they had gained at the start of the jump, with the entrance to the onsen being moved to match up exactly with the warehouse entrance. With a bit of advertising, and then later internet reviews, the business quickly started booming. Many commented on how amazing the place was, it felt like they had been transported up to the mountains themselves. The only complaint people seemed to have was the something was always broken somewhere in the facility somewhere. It was around this time that an actress under the name of 'Shion Arita' made her debut with a slightly tasteless alien flick that would garner a lot of appreciation from the internet. Being the kind people that they were, Valki and Leo offered her tickets for a free visit to the onsen as congratulations. She naturally accepted.
  37. Once there, the three agents caught each other up on what they were investigating. Birdy was relatively shocked to learn that Revi might be somewhere on the planet. Conversely she was very happy to find out that they had a lead on Geega. With a bit of help from Tuto they managed to track his exact identity down within a week. It was also within this time that Birdy discovered her complete love for hot baths. She started visiting the onsen very often after that, so much so that Valki and co had to force her to start paying for the visits (also of note, the fact that Shion was seen coming to the place so often only made it more popular).
  38. As one might expect, once they cornered Geega in an abandoned house things did not go as planned. In the ensuing fight the basement area was completely destroyed, leaving no trace of whatever they were working on down there as far as the Federation could tell. Of course, if some weird glowing canister managed to fall into a strange hole in the ground, who could tell? The real issue happened near the end of the fight with Geega. Valki, wanting to put an end to the fight before too much damage happened the surroundings, used a little bit of magic to enhance one of plasma shots that Leo had been sending their way. Birdy, unaware of this, got in the way of the shot, assuming it would bounce off her armour, in order to land a good blow on the fire breathing turtle. The magically enhanced plasma tore a hole right through her side, and through Geega as well, leaving them both in critical condition.
  39. Valki and Leo quickly transported her to her Lailalo for treatment, but were told that the damage was too severe. Valki volunteered for Fusion in order to preserve her life. Captain Megius agreed and a day later Birdy was awakened and made aware of the situation. She was surprisingly ok with the situation... until she learnt just how long it would take to heal her body. Given the complex nature of Ixioran physiology, it would take several years before her body would be restored enough for her to return to it. Her greatest concern was for Valki, as she was aware that Mental Fusion was almost guaranteed to happen unless their mental states somehow managed to reach equilibrium. Valki tried to reassure her that they would do the best they could to prevent that from happening. In the meantime, the three of them were recalled back to Altera for debriefing, as well as to transport both Birdy and Geega's bodies. Geega had not managed to make it, bleeding out from the gaping chest wound.
  40. Once back on Altera, an investigation was launched into how the plasma shot could possibly have killed both Birdy and Geega. The search turned up nothing as the gun appeared to be for all intents and purposes a normal plasma rifle. Eventually Birdy's armour was taken for investigation, as it was assumed that it failed to function properly. Sadly this investigation was similarly doomed to turn up nothing in the end. During this time Valki and Birdy started to work on cooperating together for fights and daily life. They agreed to rotating between them each day, barring any special events that needed attending. Combat was less simple to figure out, and was likely going to take a fair while before they could use the switching to their advantage. Birdy was slightly miffed that Valki seemed to be able to handle the switches casually, as if he had practice, while she still stumbled in the more intense situations.
  41. With no leads and an investigation still underway for Revi, the three were allowed to return to earth.
  42. Once they returned to earth, Birdy was quick to move all of her stuff out of her apartment to Leo's place, and away from Irma. With the money brought in from the onsen, Shion Arita retired from show business just as her career was starting to kick off. A community of nerds not-so-silently mourned. After that, the next few weeks were relative smooth sailing. Shion became known as one of the staff for working at the onsen. At one point while relaxing in the water Birdy commented that her hair felt so much smoother and softer since coming to earth, and was slightly confused by the knowing, yet longing, look that Leo sent her.
  43. It wasn't very long, however, until rumours of a strange slime like creature started to circle. It was said to consume people and take on their identity. The majority of people dismissed the rumours, believing they were crackpot theories for the recent string of missing people. The trio of terror (for the local infrastructure) took this story more at face value. When investigating one such disappearance Tuto was able to analyse left over residue. He informed them that is was traces of Bacillus, a slime like parasite that had been acting as Geega's accomplice. Without his supervision, Bacillus has gone slightly crazy and grown out of control. They tried to use the Lailalo to track him down, but somehow the scanner had been damaged at some point and was no longer functioning. With no easy way to track him down, they had to resort to old school investigation. Sadly neither Leo nor Birdy understood the importance of wearing a deerstalker hat during these circumstances, and looked down right confused when Valki kept referring to Tuto as 'Watson'. There was much muttering of 'uncultured swines' from the only male officer of the trio.
  44. The whole investigation ended up being a moot issue however, when Bacillus turned up literally on their front door. Or rather, trying to bash down the front door having traced the smell of Ixioran Altans to the quaint building. Unfortunately for everyone involved he ended up doing this in the middle of the day, with dozens of witnesses. Bacillus was too far gone to care at that point though. The fight that followed demolished the building and a significant portion of the road in front of it. He was finally killed when Tuto granted them use of an Element Destructor.
  45. Police, scientists, special forces and more were all quick to flood the scene. Two hours after the incident the two onsen owners were identified as one side of the conflict. The two of them were quick to flee the scene of the crime, retreating to their ship. Of course, in typical fashion, the cloaking on the ship chose that moment to fail, having been hit by stray plasma from Leo. The plasma launcher was promptly confiscated by Valki as they flew to the other side of the moon. They had scarcely had an hour to digest everything that had happened when they received an urgent message from Megius. Megius wasn't the one to call them though, it was a pontiff, who informed them that they were being recalled for having revealed the existence of the Federation races to earth before they were ready. The likely punishment was life in prison, which for Ixioran police officers was the equivalent of a death sentence. Valki and Leo promptly told them to shove it and made their way back to earth after fixing the cloaking, hiding back in the Sawajiri mountains that they had appeared in. Birdy was surprisingly ok with these actions, as she sympathised with two and firmly believed it was not their fault.
  46. And so it was that the trio duo found themselves on the run from not only Earth's authorities but also the Space Federation, with little to no help in sight and their faces plastered across the world...
