Concern over a runaway

L – there is allegedly a runaway that has been to Occupy Liverpool. If the runaway doesn’t verify their address in the next 5 days, then Occupy Liverpool may be subject to a search warrant.

Occupy Liverpool are referring the matter to Liverpool Young Runaways based on advice given to us from an advocate in this area.

Eviction Hearing

Mk- what we said to the judge is that any orders we are given, we will charge for their orders. He acted for the corporation not the human being.
J – there was a point in us going down there to try common law, but he was always gonna pass the judgement (orders)
L – when we went down on Thursday last week it was a positive result
Ca – why are bailiffs coming in?
L – stuck an order over the door
MK - have to write off for court records
L – writing to developers every month that building is left undeveloped

L – we should fight next order
L -  (about arrest) it depends what you do as an individual
Mk – what do you think you are gonna get arrested for

National General Assembly

B – we have a national GA soon
J – who proposed we have a national GA here?
Mk – they decided on it (at Sheffield)
S - this was decided on at previous GA
Ca - this building has a lot going for it

Finances

J - Credit Union on hold
L - No point opening account when there is no money. Don’t want to open it up by depositing my own money in it. Open it up with the next donation. Nearly finished first finance report. Benefit gig on 25th Feb.

Activities/protests

L - Local writers have offered to create plays based around Occupy Liverpool
L – Should have an Occupy Liverpool table-tennis tournament in the middle of town, whilst informing people of Occupy Liverpool
J – is the protest still on for tomorrow, is everyone meeting here?

Yes

J & MK will attend the Liverpool Against the Cut Meeting on Wed

Sa suggested an Occupy night at the social centre ‘Occupy at NTN and will make enquiries.

Solidarity with last weeks last minute animal rights protest!

Participation

Mk – we need to educate people about what we are about
L – Holding workshops where the first 15 minutes is spent on explaining why people participate in Occupy

Cal – Pi has got friends who want to do theatrical workshops
L – planning meeting next Thursday

Discussion about Syria & Russian election protests
Lp – Occupy the Bus to celebrate the birth-day (4th February, 1913) of civil rights activist Rosa Parks —who in “1955 in Montgomery, Alabama … refused to obey bus driver James F. Blake's order that she give up her seat to make room for a white passenger”— by Occupying a Liverpool bus in solidarity with Park’s defiance. [addition]
St – think there is an actual celebration coming up
Lp – will find out, but we should go ahead anyways
Occupy Liverpool table-tennis tournament in the middle of church-street to inform people about OL on Sat.
