  1. My name is Xuman.
  2.
  3. I created Super Smash Bros. All Stars, a mod for Super Smash Bros. Wii U and was in preparation for 3DS, in November 2017. My goal with the project was to bring in all the features of the past games. This meant I wanted to bring back the cut characters and stages from the past, as well as costumes, mechanics, and modes all to bring everyone together. That wasn't the only reason, however. It's a reflection of my own personal experiences playing the game ever since the first iteration on the Nintendo 64, Super Smash Bros. Each release of the game has resonated with me during each time in my life. From playing with family, with friends, to joining a community for modding, each game has something unique for me.

  5. Then today, June 12th, 2018, Nintendo officially announced the 5th game. This title called Super Smash Bros. Ultimate doesn't just seem to be the "ultimate" SSB game, but it looks like its doing exactly what I set out to do with my mod. It's bringing back all the cut characters. There's a majority of past stages coming back. There's past mechanics returning. All new looking, refreshing, and extremely exciting. Every single thing that I tried to do within a mod, is actually coming out officially. To me, it's like a surreal dream come true, especially when modding felt like a nightmare at times.

  7. Making Super Smash Bros. All Stars, while fun, has been the most time consuming, grueling, intensive thing that I set out to do. I knew it'd be near impossible to finish it, but I still wanted to try. There have been successes, there have been failures. I've helped test tools, create tutorials, set some trends, and help others get their projects off the ground. It's a wonderfully painful experience, but I have no regrets.

  9. I feel like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is Super Smash Bros. All Stars, but done right, perfected, and expanded upon. It's the official version of the mod! I feel super ecstatic just thinking about how I myself seemed to have the exact same mindset as the creator himself. It's as if I'm apart of the official development team, and that alone is an honor.
  10.
  11. Speaking of development teams, the SSBAS Dev Team has been the greatest development team of people I don't know. But we all shared a similar mindset and came together to make something happen. Not just the team, but the entire community. Everyone came together to help see this mod happen, to see their favorite things included, and to enjoy the project. It's like this mod has united everyone in a way that I've not seen before in other places.

  13. The decision to end the project officially comes mainly on the fact that the 5th game is the dream I've worked so hard on. There's no reason to keep this going when you are already going to have everything done and polished the right way on an offical game. There's nothing else I can do with this project to give people that feeling that SSB Ultimate has. It's practically the same feeling. So I personally would rather let the officials complete my dream. If people want to take the assets of this mod and use them in their own private or public modpacks, I have no problem with that as long as they adhere to the original creators wishes [Link to credit list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1sJbcTev16l2EMh_9w4Jhb-4gis4APCOqL5aIGCBe74o/edit#gid=0]
  14.
  15. That being said, I won't say there will be version of the mod on switch, and there's no real need for me to finish this. Smash Ultimate is the finished version of all stars. For everyone that has been with me through everything, Thank you for all of the support!
