What is Monster Rancher?
	Monster Rancher is probably the 3rd most famous franchise based around the concept of raising, fighting, and breeding monsters.(behind Pokemon and Digimon of course). Released in 1997 the first game was met with mild success and spawned an anime series which also garnered a bit of a cult following. In 1999 a second game was released which added all new monsters, new moves and with an art style which much more closely resembled the anime series.
With over 15 games in the series to date it differs itself from the more popular monster franchises by quite a few aspects. The most promenent of these being the way that you obtain monsters in  game. It requires you to go to a shrine with an item called a Disk Stone, each stone contains a monster all with different abilities and personalities. In game this translates to an interesting gameplay feature which allows you to use any CD you have lying around your house and turn it into a monster which you take to your ranch, raise and battle, watch it grow old and eventually die.

What categories of speedrun for Monster Rancher 2 are there?
	Currently there are 3 different categories of Speedrunning, these are:
		-Any%
		-100%
		-Diskless

	[Any%] - This is the most simple of these categories. The game begins on selection of 'NEW GAME' from the title menu and ends as soon as you see the credits. This requires you to compete in a series of battles, rising through the ranks until you're invited to the GREATEST-4; 4 matches held at 3 month intervals throughout the year with some of the strongest monsters in the game. Once you've beaten all 4, your monster will be entered into the Hall of Fame and the credits will begin.

	[100%] - Once you've beaten the GREATEST-4 and been entered into the Hall of Fame there is a special invitation to a tournament called the Legend Cup. This is a one-on-one battle against Most (A White Moochi, available only on even years) or Poritoka (A White Suezo, available only on odd years). Each of these monsters has an average of 800 points on every stat. That isn't all though, 100% also requires you to unlock every single monster. There are a total of 38 main breeds in the game but only 20 or so are available at the start of the game and all require you to do different things to unlock such as competing in certain tournaments, raising a particular monster breed or taking your monsters on adventures. You do not have to do the legend cup last but if you have unlocked every monster the timer will end once the (find a good cut off point) {specific rules to be added eg metalner, combination items}

	[Diskless] - Understanding that not everyone will have the same CD's available a diskless run is one done without using the shrine to create a monster. As such, the only place to get a monster would be to get one from the Town Marketplace. However, the monster breeds that are available change throughout the seasons. The monsters available are MOOCHI, ZUUM and, depending on the season: SUEZO, ARROWHEAD, HARE, and GABOO. In this category you may start a new game but since your monster of choice may not be available until the next season, the timer will begin as soon as you select 'YES' after Colt asks if you're taking [monster name] to the ranch. You must have a minimum of 4900 cash but a maximum of 5000 and have competed in no battles. This is because you start the game with 5000G and you may have to skip ahead a few months to get your desired monster.
