The ring reacted immediately to Kyle's mental impulse, carrying him over a block of higher buildings
where he could actually see the burning museum for the first time.
The place was an inferno, the flames roaring like a maddened mob as they sucked in air from the
surrounding streets to feed their growing intensity.
Instantly, Kyle sent a thin green beam shooting down from the ring to probe the conflagration for signs
of life. Nothing.
Not surprising, he thought No human could survive in that heat.
