- CALYDONEAN EMPIRE:
- A vast Empire, whose reputation for cavalry, both light and heavy, reaches to distant lands. The Empire had stood the test of time for over 500 years, and have produced many fine men and women, as well as brought new technologies into the region, from engineering marvels to steel and bronze alloys.
- The other thing of less stellar reputation is its Royal Court; a hive of scheming, backstabbing noblemen who do everything to carve a piece of land for themselves, get into favor with the Imperial Family, and often both these things at once. This has brought many feuds betwen various nobles, which often doesn't end until one side is destroyed or an external threat forces the feuding aristocrats to hastily put their differences aside. This most often happens during incursions by Eslepathe Kingdom, the nemesis of the Empire for the past century.
- ESLEPATHE KINGDOM:
- This Kingdom, renowned for its magical universities and enchanted items, has sprung over from a single city just a century ago. The Magician Court, in tandem with the Eslepathean Dynasty, have bribed, conquered and colonized many lands and nations in the region, finally reaching the borders of the Calydonean Empire.
- For the past fifty years, the two powers warred with mixed results, sometimes the Calydoneans getting slaughtered and sometimes the fabled Magi Universities of Eslepathe being burnt down to nothing. But a decade ago, a marriage between Astoria, Princess of Calydonea and Huar Eslepathe, Heir of Eslepathe Dynasty, have brought a much needed peace between the two nations... at least at global level. At the borderlands, unfortunately, family feuds, land claims and disputes of various kind saw the noblemen of both nations spill blood from time to time.
- ANTRACH:
- The people of Antrach are sturdy folk that, reputedly, have cared for their mountains, wyverns and pegasi for centuries. Their harsh lands are ill-suited for argiculture and high socities so the various mount-breeding tribes, united under the Tribal King Rarnach, enjoy peace as neither the Calydoneans and Eslepatheans are interested in their lands.
- And the Antracheans are more than fine with it - seeling the metals they mine and crystals they harvest, as well as wondrouds beasts they rise, the Antracheans have provided their two neighbours with their services for many years, and for many years they have been rewarded with hefty amounts of coins and in some rare cases, with nobility titles and lands for themselves.
- HISTORY OF ARGAVEN KEEP:
- Less than two centuries ago, the powerful Argaven Family had it all: wealth, connections, fame and peace. But then the noble family of Barguedoc settled nearby. In two decades, the two families wasted each other's reputation and wealth, and many members of both families, from innocent infants to scheming grandparents were killed. Finally, the remainder of Argavens fled their ancestral home sixty years ago, while Barguedocs claimed their Keep for themselves.
- Alas, the Keep wasn't going to stay in hands of Barguedocs for long, as the Eslepathe Kingdom invaded the borderlands and the Barguedocs were hit hard by the invaders, many of their kin dying and the Keep being set ablaze on two different occassions. When the peace finally visited the two Kingdoms, Argaven Keep was naught but an abandoned castle in middle of nowhere, its last owners vanquished and their original ones living in the west of the Empire.
- But just a year ago, the young Lady Isabeau Argaven, thanks to machinations of her bed-ridden uncle, received the Imperial Allowance, giving back the Argaven Keep to her and her descendants. Gathering supplies, information and hand-picking a faithful bunch of retainers and brave commoners willing to migrate to a new home, Lady Isabeau Argaven set forth to the ancestral home of her family, to reclaim and rebuild it, and bring back glory upon her Family!
